Xiaomi Starts Rolling Out MIUI 12 to Redmi Note 8 Pro in India

Just a few days back, on August 12, 2020, Xiaomi announced the MIUI 12 in India. It comes with a fresh design and new animations. Now MIUI India through its official social media handles has announced the arrival of MIUI 12 in the Redmi Note 8 Pro models in India. This update will include the vanilla variant of the smartphone as well. Xiaomi has delivered on its promise of rolling out the MIUI 12 this month itself for the Indian users. More devices will get the update soon as well. According to a Twitter user, the update size for MIUI 12 in the Redmi Note 8 Pro is 641MB.

Xiaomi MIUI 12 Update to be Rolled out on Redmi Note 8 Pro

The Redmi Note 8 Pro users in India are getting the MIUI 12 update now. There is no official comment from Xiaomi about whether this is a phased rollout or not, but it will be clear in a few days anyway. The Redmi Note 8 Pro users can download the update by going to the Settings > About Phone > System Updates and see if there is any update or not. If there is one, they just need to tap on the download/install button and the update will start.

One of the Twitter users shared the changelog details and mentioned that the update arrives with the build number V12.0.1.0 QGGINXM and has a download size of 641MB. The all-new MIUI 12 comes with an enhanced Dark Mode which was introduced in the MIUI 11. Xiaomi has focused on increasing the privacy protection of all Indian users.

A major update that Xiaomi has introduced with the MIUI 12 is the app drawer. A lot of users of Xiaomi smartphones had expressed about the need for an app drawer to make things convenient and Xiaomi has heard it. Along with that, an interesting feature added to the camera module of the app is the 'Magic Clone' feature. There is also the added support for a floating window so that you can multi-task and reply to all the important messages while doing something else.

FlexBytes+ is an offering from ACT Fibernet which allows the users to extend their FUP data limit for the month. There are different plans which users can choose from in case they exhaust the FUP data from their original plan. At the moment, there are five different plans under the FlexBytes+ offerings. The user can get up to 500GB additional data. Of course, there are plans with lesser data offers as well since not everyone would require a huge amount of data. FlexBytes+ are being offered by the internet service provider (ISP) for quite a long time now. Recently, ACT Fibernet revised the FlexBytes+ plans, so let's take a look at them now.

ACT Fibernet FlexBytes+ Plans

There are five different plans under the offering of FlexBytes+ plan from ACT Fibernet. The range of those plans goes from Rs 120 to Rs 1,000. Let's start with the cheapest plan and then go on about uncovering the other ones. The Rs 120 FlexBytes+ plan is the cheapest plan a customer can get. It comes with an additional 20GB data. The good thing about this data plan is that you can use the additional 20GB data for up to 3 months from the date of purchase. So you don't have to worry about the data benefits expiring anytime soon.

The second plan is of Rs 200. It ships with 50GB of additional data for the 3 months as well. A point to note is that not only the two aforementioned plans but each and every FlexBytes+ plan comes with 3 months validity regardless of their price or data benefits. Coming to the third plan, it comes for Rs 300 and offers 100GB of additional data.

If you need more data than that, then you have got two big data FlexBytes+ plans as well. They ship with 200GB and 500GB data. The 200GB data plan comes for Rs 300 and the 500GB data plan comes for Rs 1,000. These plans quite expensive when considered the data benefits they provide.

ACT Fibernet Shield Service

ACT Shield is another service which ACT Fibernet broadband customers can opt to keep their data and browsing experience safe. ACT Shield is a security app which monitors any suspicious activity on your device. There are different plans which the customer can choose from. The most basic one is Rs 49 plan which can be added to the monthly bill and it will secure a maximum of two devices. The other two plans come for Rs 60 per month (secures 3 devices) and Rs 99 per month (secures 5 devices).

Unfortunately, iOS users can't download the app, for now, it is only available for Android users. ACT Shield will also keep your browsing activity on your desktop secure be it Windows or macOS.

BSNL Prepaid Users to Receive 5GB Complimentary Data on Multi-Recharge

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) on Friday said that its prepaid users utilising the multiple recharge facility will be provided 5GB complimentary data for no additional cost. The development was shared by the BSNL Chennai circle with the operator highlighting that the offer is introduced on a promotional basis for 90 days. It has to be noted that the operator introduced multiple recharge facility for its prepaid users in July. The multiple recharge scheme enables BSNL prepaid users to recharge in advance without waiting for the expiry of their current active plan vouchers (PV) and special tariff vouchers (STV).

BSNL Offers 5GB Complimentary Data to Prepaid Users

According to a circular shared by the BSNL Chennai circle on Friday, the complimentary 5GB data is said to be currently provided to those prepaid users in the Chennai and the Tamil Nadu circle.

The operator said that the STVs priced at Rs 98, Rs 99, Rs 118, Rs 187 and Rs 319 are currently said to be eligible for the 5GB complimentary data. Further, BSNL said that the PVs priced at Rs 186, Rs 429, Rs 485, Rs 666 and Rs 1999 are also eligible for the bonus data.

The BSNL prepaid users initiating second or third recharge before the expiry of their previous recharge are said to be "immediately" provided the complimentary data. The 5GB data is said to carry a validity of 22 days. The promotional period for the 5GB data is said to be effective from August 22, 2020 to November 19, 2020.

BSNL Providing Full Talk Time on Every Sunday till November

Additionally, it was also announced that the operator will be providing full talk time with Rs 100 top up on every Sunday in the Chennai and Tamil Nadu circle. The full talk time promotional offer for the BSNL prepaid users is said to be effective from August 22, 2020 to November 18, 2020.

Alongside that, BSNL is also launching new offers to its broadband subscribers in the country.
