Prasar Bharati, India's public service broadcaster on Thursday announced that three new channels secured a slot on its DD Free Dish platform. The broadcaster announced that the three channels that secured its slots on the 47th e-auction will be allotted slots for the period between September 1, 2020 to March 31, 2021. The development is on the heels of the public service broadcaster in early August announcing the addition of two new channels on its DD Free Dish platform, India's only free Direct-to-Home (DTH) service. Further, it was announced in late June that 15 channels secured slots through the 46th e-auction held by the broadcaster. Prasar Bharati Adds Three New Channels to its DD Free Dish PlatformPrasar Bharati on Thursday announced that ANB News, Aryan TV National and News India 24×7 have secured slots on the DD Free Dish platform. The 47th e-auction is said to have been held on Wednesday, August 26, 2020. ANB News, a Punjab based Hindi news channel is available on various platforms including Tata Sky and Airtel Digital TV. Aryan TV National, Bihar based Hindi news channel was earlier part of multiple DTH platforms including DD Free Dish. Further, News India 24×7, launched in 2014 is a Rajasthan based Hindi news channel with a presence on multiple platforms including DTH services like Tata Sky. It has to be noted that the public service broadcaster had earlier invited applications for the allotment of vacant MPEG-4 slots on DD Free Dish in early August. Prasar Bharati had said that the bidding in the e-auction is open to all genre channels at a base reserve price of Rs 50.60 lakhs. It was said that the successful bidders were required to make payments in five monthly installments. Further, the channels were also required to pay a non-refundable processing fee of Rs 25,000 and a participation fee of Rs 1.25 lakhs. Prasar Bharati Added Over 20 Channels Since JuneIn early June, Prasar Bharati announced that five major general entertainment channels (GEC) including Star Utsav and Colors Rishtey would make a reentry into the DD Free Dish platform. Further, the broadcaster in late June said that 15 channels including four devotional and 11 news channels were selected through the 46th e-auction. Bharti Airtel earlier announced the offering of free data coupons with certain prepaid plans. Now the telco has extended the offer to some of its other plans — Rs 289, Rs 448, and Rs 599. These three plans have been added recently to the offer and when customers purchase any of these three prepaid plans, they will get free data coupons. There is one catch with the coupons though, regardless of their validity, the day they are redeemed, they would expire at 11:59 the very same day. Let's take a look at these three prepaid plans. Airtel Rs 289, Rs 448, Rs 599 Prepaid PlansAirtel's Rs 289 prepaid plan is not a new one. It was being offered before as well and it comes bundled with the OTT benefit of ZEE5 Premium. It is the only plan which comes with the benefit of ZEE5 Premium. With this plan, the customers are eligible to receive two 1GB data vouchers with the validity of 28 days. The Rs 289 plan also comes with the validity of 28 days only and offers 1.5GB daily data along with unlimited calling and 100 SMS/day. As for the Rs 448 and Rs 599 prepaid plans, these are new offerings from the Airtel and they come bundled with the Disney+ Hotstar VIP benefit for one year. The Rs 448 prepaid plan also comes with two 1GB data vouchers with the validity of 28 days. The prepaid plan also has a validity of 28 days and offers 3GB data every day along with unlimited calling and 100 SMS/day. The Rs 599 prepaid plan also comes with the benefit of Disney+ Hotstar VIP for one year. With this plan, the customer gets four coupons of 1GB each with a validity of 56 days. This prepaid plan has a validity of 56 days and offers 2GB daily data along with unlimited calling and 100 SMS/day. Any given day the customer redeems his/her data voucher, they will have to use the benefit of it on that same day itself. There are more plans which come with complimentary data vouchers. All the plans which come with two 1GB data vouchers with a validity of 28 days are – Rs 219, Rs 249, Rs 279, Rs 289, Rs 298, Rs 349, Rs 398, and Rs 448. Plans which come with four 1GB vouchers and validity of 56 days are – Rs 399, Rs 449, Rs 558, and Rs 599. Then there are plans which come with six 1GB vouchers and validity of 84 days – Rs 598 and Rs 698. Tata Sky Broadband, a subsidiary of Tata Sky Limited has introduced a new 300 Mbps plan with 500GB data limit per month. The pan India service provider with its presence in 18 cities across India had introduced the 300 Mbps unlimited plan in late May. The unlimited 300 Mbps plan carries a price tag of Rs 1900 per month with the operator highlighting that the plan will be available for subscription in "select areas" across the country. The new 300 Mbps "Fixed GB" plan undercuts the price of the unlimited plan and is available for subscription in select cities across India. Tata Sky Broadband Unveils New 300 Mbps Fixed GB Plan in Select CitiesThe new 300 Mbps Fixed GB plan enables users to browse up to 300 Mbps speed till 500GB with the operator capping the speeds to 3 Mbps upon reaching the data limit. Tata Sky Broadband highlights that the new 300 Mbps Fixed GB plan is available for subscription on a monthly, quarterly, semi annual and yearly basis. The operator provides data rollover option for all users subscribed to its Fixed GB plans along with a free router. The users subscribing to the Fixed GB quarterly, semi annual and yearly packs will also be provided free installation. The new 300 Mbps Fixed GB plan is said to be currently available for subscription in Bengaluru, Chennai, Greater Noida, Gurgaon, Mumbai, New Delhi, Pimpri Chinchwad, Pune and Thane. Tata Sky Broadband 300 Mbps Unlimited Plan Priced at Rs 1900It has to be noted that Tata Sky Broadband offers an unlimited 300 Mbps plan for Rs 1900 per month in select cities across India. The operator highlights that the speeds on the unlimited 300 Mbps plan will reduce to 3 Mbps upon a user reaching 3300GB data limit. The unlimited 300 Mbps plan is available in all areas where the operator currently offers its Fixed GB 300 Mbps plan along with Ghaziabad, Mira Bhayandar, Navi Mumbai and Noida. Tata Sky Broadband offers four unlimited plans including the 300 Mbps plan priced in the range of Rs 950 to Rs 1900 in all major cities across India. Further, the operator offers five Fixed GB plans priced in the range of Rs 790 to Rs 1470 in select cities across the country. Additionally, it has to be noted that the operator offers dedicated plans to its users in Hyderabad, Jaipur, Lucknow and Kolkata.
