| Airtel Xstream Fiber DTH Packs Detailed Posted: 10 Sep 2020 01:44 AM PDT This post first appeared on TelecomTalk Read more at: https://telecomtalk.info/airtel-xstream-fiber-dth-packs-detailed/296231/, Airtel Xstream Fiber DTH Packs Detailed
Just a few days back we reported the new changes that were introduced by Airtel in its broadband offerings. Airtel Xstream Fiber plans now come in a bundle which offer a great number of benefits. One of those benefits is the DTH. However, it is important to note that the customer isn't essentially getting it for free at the point of purchase. To get the DTH benefit (Xstream Box), the customer will have to pay a refundable Rs 1,500 security deposit to Airtel. But wait, there are more underlying costs. Once you get the STB (Xstream Box), you need to pay more to keep it active. Keep reading ahead to find out about it. Airtel Xstream Fiber 9 DTH Plans You Can Choose FromAirtel on its website has clearly mentioned that the customer will have to pay to keep the DTH box active so that they can watch OTT content on it. It is not like the customer can pay Rs 1,500 once and then keep watching OTT content on the TV just like that. The customer will have to purchase a DTH pack along with the STB to keep it active. So the customers have two options. They can either purchase the Rs 452 DTH pack which comes with a total of 225+ FTA channels or pay the NCF charge of Rs 153 to keep the Xstream Box active. Paying the NCF charge will also bring 225+ FTA channels. Coming to the 9 channel packs which are on offer — Freedom Sports and Kids Plus HD Pack – GT with a total of 373 channels (24 HD and 81 SD), WB Freedom Sports and Kids Plus HD Pack – GT with a total of 369 channels (25 HD and 76 SD), Guj Freedom Sports and Kids Plus HD Pack – GT with a total of 367 channels (24 HD and 75 SD), Mah Freedom Sports and Kids Plus HD Pack – GT with a total of 367 channels (27 HD and 72 SD), Oriya Freedom Sports and Kids Plus HD Pack – GT with a total of 364 channels (24 HD and 72 SD), TN Freedom Sports and Kids Plus HD Pack – GT with a total of 347 channels (28 HD and 51 SD), KER Freedom Sports and Kids Plus HD Pack – GT with a total of 357 channels (38 HD and 51 SD), KAR freedom Sports and Kids Plus HD Pack – GT with a total of 346 channels (25 HD and 53 SD), and AP Freedom Sports and Kids Plus HD Pack – GT with a total of 365 channels (31 HD and 66 SD). One thing that you should know is that Airtel users in Non-LCO cities are mandatorily required to opt for the Xstream Box if they want the OTT benefits. But the users living in LCO cities, they don't have to select the Xstream Box to get the OTT benefits. The above mentioned 9 plans all cost Rs 452 per month and the user can choose either of them initially to keep the STB active or just pay Rs 153 NCF charge. | AUAB to Observe Black Day On October 1 Over Denial of 4G Technology to BSNL Posted: 09 Sep 2020 11:36 PM PDT This post first appeared on TelecomTalk Read more at: https://telecomtalk.info/auab-black-day-bsnl-4g-denial/296198/, AUAB to Observe Black Day On October 1 Over Denial of 4G Technology to BSNL
The All Unions and Associations of BSNL (AUAB) said that it decided to observe a Black Day on October 1, 2020 over the denial of 4G technology to Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL). The umbrella organisation of all the employees' unions of the state-run telecom operator on Tuesday said in a circular that the "cancellation of BSNL's 4G tender has done great harm for the revival of BSNL." It has to be noted that the Indian government in October 2019, approved a "revival plan" of BSNL and MTNL with the measures included the allotment of spectrum for 4G services. Government Does Not Want BSNL to Launch 4G Services: AUABBSNL in early 2020 issued a tender that required the vendors to deal with the "commissioning and annual maintenance of 4G mobile network." The operator highlighted that the winners of the tender would deal with around 50,000 sites of BSNL and 7000 sites of MTNL in Delhi and Mumbai. The tender was estimated to be opened in late June following multiple delays. However, the confrontation between the Chinese soldiers and Indian soldiers resulted in the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) placing restrictions on BSNL sourcing telecom gear from Chinese vendors. In mid July, the operator cancelled its 4G tender. The AUAB on Tuesday said that "there is no credible domestic manufacturer of 4G equipments." "In such a situation, the cancellation of BSNL's 4G tender, on the plea that, BSNL has violated the norms of Prime Minister's Make in India policy is untenable," the AUAB said in its circular. "This clearly indicates that the government does not want BSNL to launch its 4G service." The AUAB said that the roadblocks that are being created in the launch of BSNL 4G services has resulted in BSNL's revival "next to impossible." "Thus, the future of BSNL, as well as the future of its employees is becoming dark," the AUAB said. "Under these circumstances, the AUAB decides to observe a Black Day on 1st October, 2020, to express the anguish and agony of the BSNL employees, over the denial of 4G technology to BSNL and thereby ruining its future." The umbrella organisation has asked its employees to wear black badges while being on duty on October 1, 2020. Further, the AUAB said that it has decided to organise a "hunger strike" on the same day, demanding BSNL management and the Indian government to take "immediate steps" in launching BSNL 4G services. AUAB to Observe "Customer Delight Month" in OctoberThe AUAB has also asked its employees to observe a "Customer Delight Month" from October 1, 2020. The umbrella organisation in the circular asked its employees to dedicate the month of October for "improving the quality of services" and also to bring in new landline, broadband and mobile users. "The AUAB also calls on the employees to utilise this full month for contacting the customers and to know their grievances, with the view to find solution to them," it said. Crucially, it was also highlighted that the faults on landlines, Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) and broadband connections "have increased tremendously" post the operator outsourcing its network maintenance and customer services. "As a result, a lot of broadband and landline connections are getting disconnected," the AUAB said. "This is a matter of serious concern to the employees. It is decided that, the AUAB shall write to the CMD BSNL, requesting to take immediate steps to overcome this undesirable situation." | BSNL STV-49 Offers 2GB Data and Free Voice Calling to Customers Posted: 09 Sep 2020 06:35 PM PDT This post first appeared on TelecomTalk Read more at: https://telecomtalk.info/bsnl-stv49-2gb-data-free-voice-calling/296103/, BSNL STV-49 Offers 2GB Data and Free Voice Calling to Customers
BSNL keeps on introducing new offers and plans for its customers to keep them happy. There are some really unique prepaid plans which the telco offers and none of the others do giving an upper-hand to BSNL. Yet the reason why BSNL hasn't capitalised on the market is that it hasn't introduced its 4G services yet. Just a few days back we reported on how 4G can change things for BSNL. Everyone's rooting for the telco to bring 4G as fast as possible. Coming back to the interesting plans which the telco offers, there is the STV-49. It was introduced a few days back and is offered for a limited time only. BSNL STV-49 Comes With 2GB of DataThe BSNL STV-49 came on the list of offerings from September 1, 2020. It is going to be on offer for 90 days only. The STV-49 comes with 2GB data benefit. That is all the data that you are going to get for free which makes sense because the STV is priced at Rs 49 only. With the data, the customer is eligible to get 100 minutes of free call only. After that, the calls would be charged at 45 paisa per minute. Along with the data and voice calling, there are a total of 100 free SMS as well. The STV-49 comes with a validity of 28 days only which is good for people who just want a plan for short-term. Selfcare Keyword for the STV 49 is – 'STV COMBO49'. One of the many upsides of this plan is that none of the other telcos is offering anything like this. It comes with 28 days of validity for such a small price. For someone who doesn't use their phone much for data but only calling, this plan is great. Even if the call charge of 45 paisa per minute is charged, it won't become extraordinarily expensive in 28 days. Adding to that, there are 100 minutes of free calling given as well. This plan is also good for customers who just want to keep their BSNL SIM card active. It doesn't cost too much and can be used in case of an emergency for making calls or when you just need extra data. BSNL offers a number of prepaid plans which are priced under Rs 100 like this one. There are two plans — Rs 94 and Rs 95 which were introduced just a few weeks back in July. These plans come with a validity of 90 days initially and can be extended using prepaid vouchers. Both the plans come with 3GB of data benefit and 100 minutes of free calling which can be utilised on the home network and on roaming in Delhi and Mumbai circles. The benefits are to be consumed within the first 90 days only or else they will expire. Original article: BSNL STV-49 Offers 2GB Data and Free Voice Calling to Customers ©2020 TelecomTalk.
