cellular-network-issues-ways-fix-common-problems
More often than not, people face issues with their cellular network. Sometimes the problem is related to voice calls, and sometimes it is with the internet. The users face network issues not just limited with one or two telecom operators, but all of them. There are many things that you can do to resolve the problems which you are facing with your network. Be it voice calling or internet issues; there is a fix for everything. So if you want to know how you can fix these problems by yourself, keep reading ahead.

Solutions for Trouble With Making Calls/Receiving Calls/Sending and Receiving Calls

If there are coverage issues or issues in the quality of a voice call, then switch-off any of the devices around you that produces electromagnetic induction such as internet routers. Then restart your mobile. You can also try inserting the SIM card in another device. If even that doesn't solve your problems, contact your network operator who would be able to sort the issue from their end.

When your mobile reflects that the network of your SIM card is down; if you are an Android user, go to the settings of your device. Then find 'Mobile/Cellular Network' and tap on it. Manually select your network operator. For example, if your SIM card is from Vodafone Idea, then tap on 'Vi'. In case you are an iOS user, just go to Settings, tap on 'Mobile + SIM' and go to SIM Settings > Network Selection and then search for network. Manually select the operator you are subscribed to. If this doesn't solve your issue, the users would have to get in touch with the customer care team of their network operator.

Even when facing issues with SMSs and messages, just restart your device or try inserting your SIM card in another device. If this doesn't do the job, you can contact your network service provider.

Solutions for Trouble With Using the Mobile Internet

In case you are unable to browse a particular site on the mobile phone using mobile data, check if it is a particular website or an app that you are facing this issue with. If it is the case, just clear the cache and cookies of that website/app and see if you can then use the internet.

If the problem is with every website and app, then you can troubleshoot your internet. Firstly, check if you have kept the 'Mobile Data' switched on. Then ensure that under the settings, you have selected the fastest option for your mobile network. If it is not 3G or 4G, then immediately change the settings. One thing that you should always ensure is that your SIM card is in the right slot. If you are using Mobile Data from SIM 1, ensure that you have your SIM 1 as the network which provides fast data to you.

You can also check the APN (Access Point Names) settings. Select the following under APN settings of your device: for Android – www, for iOS – iPhone. Another thing which you should keep in mind is that your data subscription pack can be expired. So check if you have enough data to browse or not. You can also put your device in Airplane mode and switch it off in a second. It will refresh your network and might solve any of the connectivity issues that you are facing. The last thing you can do is try using the SIM card in any other device. If even that doesn't work, just contact your network service provider.

tata-sky-broadband-20mbps-plan-300mbps-plan
Tata Sky Broadband has introduced a new 20Mbps plan for its users in select cities. The internet service provider (ISP) has updated its web portal and with that also unveiled new plans for select cities. The 20Mbps broadband plan is currently available in Chennai, Noida, Greater Noida, Gurgaon, and New Delhi. However, it is worthy to note that Tata Sky Broadband has reduced its presence from 18 cities to 16 cities. The operator has not listed its plans for Lucknow and Hyderabad under its revamp. More on the story ahead.

Tata Sky Broadband New 20Mbps Plan

Tata Sky broadband is now offering a new broadband plan with 20Mbps speed to the users in Chennai, Noida, Greater Noida, Gurgaon, and New Delhi. This plan will ship with unlimited data and will cost the user Rs 1271.9 per month. The operator has not highlighted the long-term availability of its new 20Mbps plan yet.

Tata Sky Broadband New 20Mbps Plan

The unlimited data on Tata Sky Broadband means 3300GB (3.3TB) fair-usage-policy (FUP) data. After the user consumes his allotted FUP data, the operator restricts the speed drops to 3Mbps. What's interesting to note is the pricing of this plan. It is quite unclear what Tata Sky Broadband seeks to achieve as it has priced the 20Mbps plan with unlimited data more than the 100Mbps plan with unlimited data.

Also, Tata Sky Broadband is not providing its services in Lucknow and Hyderabad anymore. Under the offers section on the website, the service provider has mentioned that it is offering “Free Expert Installation” and “Free Router Dual-band ONT+ Wi-Fi Router.” Tata Sky Broadband has also mentioned on its website that it is offering users 'Plan Change Flexibility', 'Safe Custody', and 'Data Rollover'.

Meanwhile, the operator has removed its 300Mbps broadband plan from its offerings. So now the maximum speed plan a user can get from Tata Sky Broadband is 200Mbps. It also has to be noted that the 200Mbps plan is not available everywhere.

Tata Sky Broadband has also highlighted on its website that it will offer its users 99.9% uptime on its network. Along with that, the download and upload speeds that a user gets with a plan is said to be uniform.

Carrier Aggregation in Indian Telecom Networks

Posted: 21 Oct 2020 08:25 PM PDT

This post first appeared on TelecomTalk Read more at: https://telecomtalk.info/carrier-aggregation-indian-telecom-networks/305737/, Carrier Aggregation in Indian Telecom Networks

carrier-aggregation-indian-telecom-networks
Carrier Aggregation (CA), a feature of LTE Advanced enables telecom operators and devices to combine two or more Long Term Evolution (LTE) carriers into a single data channel. The CA enables telecom operators to enhance the capacity of the data rates and the entire network by capitalising on fragmented spectrum allocations. The operators can apply the LTE Advanced feature either on their LTE Frequency Division Duplexing (FDD) variant or on the Time Division Duplexing (TDD) LTE variant with up to five component carriers. It has been said that the five component carriers can deliver up to 100 Mhz of total transmission bandwidth for a telecom operator.

Smartphones Supporting CA Delivers Higher Internet Speeds

The devices supporting CA offer users better speed and network connectivity as compared to devices with no support for CA. The CA enabled devices can club multiple LTE connections and treat them as one as compared to non CA devices that typically dial one LTE connection between the phone and the network. The devices supporting CA when latched onto a supporting network would deliver double or higher internet speeds due to the enhanced connectivity.

With the CA enabled devices, the users can prevent minor lags during online gaming while also preventing buffering when watching a high-definition video that are often caused by patchy networks.

Crucially, the CA enabled devices also prevents network oscillations that results in the smartphone delivering higher battery life.

Devices and Telecom Operators Supporting CA in India

The Indian telecom operators including Jio, Airtel and Vodafone Idea (Vi) have implemented CA in most of its circles. However, the operators have not implemented CA on all its bands with Jio enabling CA on Band 3, Band 5 and Band 40 while Airtel enabling CA on Band 3 and Band 40.

Similarly, the users need a compatible handset supporting CA to browse at higher speeds such as select devices powered by Qualcomm sporting an X5 modem or later. The users with select Mediatek and Exynos devices also support CA implemented by the Indian telecom operators.
