Reliance Jio, the largest telecom operator in India on Tuesday said that it has partnered with USP Studios to boost the kids content on its platform. The operator said that its users thanks to Jio's partnership with USP Studios will now have access to eight "exciting edutainment apps" including Kids First and Kids TV India. USP Studios is said to be a company engaged in creating content for kids largely in preschool. In the release, it was highlighted that USP Studios has a "strong footprint in India" and that its base is continuing to expand. USP Studios Content t Available to Reliance Jio Users for No Additional CostThe "fun learning apps" produced by USP Studios are said to be made available to Reliance Jio users in English and other regional languages from August, 2020. Kids First, Kids TV India, Junior Squad Kid Songs, Top Nursery Rhymes, Kids Channel India, Bob The Train, Little Treehouse Rhymes, and Farmees Nursery Rhymes are said to be available to Jio users. "We are extremely excited on this partnership with USP Studios that has helped us expand our offerings for kids and preschoolers," Akash Ambani, director at Jio, said in a release. Through this partnership, we are sure that parents will have a new way to keep their kids engaged and make screen time more meaningful with content that is educative and enriching" USP Studios is said to have a subscriber base of over 130 million with the company witnessing over 2.5 billion views per month. Jio Partnership to Aid USP Studios in Expanding its ReachIt was said that the Jio's partnership with USP Studios will "further amplify" USP Studio's presence across India. "While we have been reaching out to over 130+ million subscribers, we believe it's time that we further expand this reach to the next 100 million in India and our partnership with Jio will help us achieve this goal," Uday Singh Phoolka, founder of USP Studios, said in the release. Poco has launched its latest device in the Indian market, the Poco C3. Poco has branded the launch of this smartphone as 'The Game Changer.” The Poco C3 features 5000mAh battery with the company promising up to 2 day battery life. Adding to that, the device is powered by a gaming focused processor paired with 4GB RAM. Priced under Rs 10,000, it might actually be the game changer the smartphone manufacturer is claiming it to be. Additionally, the device hosts a triple-camera setup in the rear and a teardrop notch which houses the selfie camera in the front. Let's take a look at the specifications and price of the Poco C3. Poco C3: SpecificationsStarting with the screen, the Poco C3 comes with a 6.53-inch HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 20:9. The tall aspect ratio will ensure that the users can operate the device using one hand. Then powering the smartphone is MediaTek Helio G35 which is a chipset focused on gaming. Bharti Airtel on Tuesday said that its Airtel Payments Bank has enhanced its app to simplify payment experience for its merchant partners. The company said that the enhanced app will "further empower its merchant partners with a range of digital benefits" that streamlines the payment experience. The merchants using the Airtel Payments Bank would now be introduced to two new features namely "Smart ePOS" and "On-Demand Settlement." The company said that the smart e-Point of Sale (POS) allows merchants to turn their smartphone into a POS machine for accepting digital payments. Airtel Payments Bank Enhances App Experience for MerchantsThe company highlighted that the merchants can pick the Smart ePOS option in the app to generates a QR code on the mobile screen. The merchants can then show the QR code to their customers and accept payments. Airtel highlighted that the payments will be "credited immediately" to the merchant bank account that is linked to the app. The company said that the Smart ePOS option "eliminates the need to have to have a physical QR code or the need to carry an additional device to receive payments for home deliveries." Curically, it was said that the merchants can accept payments with "zero commission charges." "The new solutions allow merchants to receive and settle payments through a seamless and secure digital process," Ganesh Ananthanarayanan, COO of Airtel Payments Bank, said in a release. "This is one more step towards our aim of building a cashless economy." Airtel Payments Bank Allows Merchants to Transfer Payments Any TimeFurther, the new "on-demand settlement" feature is said to allow merchants to transfer their payments into their bank accounts at "any time as per their convenience." The company said that the money will be "instantly credited" to the merchant’s bank account. It was also highlighted that the merchants can "easily monitor their daily earnings, check transaction statements, payment settlement history, and even buy shop insurance" on the enhanced Airtel Payments Bank app. The company said that the Airtel Payments Bank has close to 1.5 million merchants. Tata Sky, the largest Direct-to-Home (DTH) operator in India on Tuesday revised electronic programming guide (EPG) numbers of over 15 channels on its platform. The operator on Tuesday revised EPG numbers of multiple Telugu regional channels including Gemini TV, Star Maa and Zee Telugu. Tata Sky has also highlighted that more Telugu channels including ETV and TV9 will have its EPG revisions on Wednesday and Thursday. The operator since early September had consistently changed the EPG numbers of various channels on its platform including the English entertainment along with Bengali, Tamil, Marathi and Kannada regional channels. Tata Sky Revises EPG Numbers of 18 Telugu Regional ChannelsThe operator on Tuesday revised EPG numbers of 18 Telugu channels including Gemini Movies, Gemini Movies HD, Sakshi TV, Zee Telugu, Zee Telugu HD, Star Maa, Gemini TV and Gemini TV HD. Further, the operator on Tuesday also revised EPG numbers of Star Maa HD, Star Maa Movies, Star Maa Movies HD, Star Maa Gold, ABN Andhra Jyothy, T News and Star Maa Music. Tata Sky on its portals also highlighted that Vissa TV, 10TV and TV1 are other channels to have its EPG numbers revised on Tuesday. Tata Sky to Revise EPG Numbers of 32 Channels from October 7Meanwhile, the DTH operator is said to revise EPG numbers of 16 Telugu channels on Wednesday including Gemini Life, Gemini Music, ETV HD, ETV Telugu, ETV Andhra Pradesh and TV5 News. Further, Gemini Comedy, Telugu Naaptol, Bhakti TV, ETV Cinema, ETV Plus, ETV Life, ETV Abhiruchi, Zee Cinemalu, Zee Cinemalu HD and Studio One+ will also have its EPG number revisions on Wednesday. Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) on Monday revised its Rs 777 plan dubbed as "500GB CUL" with the plan now offering users up to 100 Mbps download speeds. The 500GB CUL plan was initially introduced by the operator in late 2018 with BSNL withdrawing the plan and reintroducing it in early 2019. In early 2020, BSNL said that the 500GB CUL plan would be valid till June, 2020. However, the operator in June extended the Rs 777 plan to September 24, 2020 in certain circles like Arunachal Pradesh while other circles were offered the plan till September 25, 2020. BSNL Revises Rs 777 Plan to 100 Mbps SpeedBSNL on Monday said that the Rs 777 plan will now offer up to 100 mbps speed till 500GB with the operator restricting the speed to 5 Mbps upon reaching the limit. The users subscribed to the 500GB CUL plan will also be provided unlimited voice calling to any network within India. The 500GB CUL plan earlier enabled users to browse up to 50 Mbps speed till 500GB with the operator restricting the speed to 2 Mbps upon reaching the limit. BSNL in an internal release highlighted that the 500GB CUL plan will be available to the new users across India except Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The 500GB CUL plan is said to be available on a "promotional basis for a period of 90 days." The new users subscribing to the Rs 777 plan are required to pay one month charges as security deposit with the minimum hire period for the plan fixed at one month. Similar to its previous version, the users subscribed to the 500GB CUL plan will be migrated to 600GB CUL plan post the six month period. The 600GB CUL plan priced at Rs 849 per month enables users to browse up to 50 Mbps speed till 600GB with the operator capping the speeds to 2 Mbps upon reaching the limit. BSNL Further Extends 50GB CUL and 120GB CUL PlansBSNL in its internal release also highlighted that it has introduced 50GB CUL and 120GB CUL plans to its new users on a "promotional basis for a period of 90 days." The 50GB CUL and 120GB CUL plans are now said to be available to new BSNL users across India except those in Andaman and Nicobar. The operator had earlier offered the 50GB CUL and 120GB CUL in select circles on a promotional basis. In late June 2020, it emerged that the operator had extended the 50GB CUL and 120GB CUL plans to September, 2020. The 50GB CUL enables users to browse up to 20 Mbps speed till 50GB with the operator restricting the speed to 1 Mbps upon reaching the limit. Further, the 120GB CUL plan enabled users to browse up to 20 Mbps speed till 120GB with the operator restricting the speed to 1 Mbps upon hitting the limit. The 50GB CUL plan carries a price tag of Rs 299 per month while the 120GB CUL plan is priced at Rs 491 per month. The users subscribed to the 50GB CUL and 120GB CUL plans will be migrated to "regular broadband plans" selected by the user at the time of filling the Customer Acquisition Form (CAF). However, the users who subscribed to 50GB CUL and 120GB CUL plans will be moved to 2GB CUL and 3GB CUL plans respectively if they do not select a regular broadband plan. The 2GB CUL plan enables users to browse at 8 Mbps speed till 2GB per day with the operator restricting the speed to 1 Mbps upon reaching the limit. Further, the 3GB CUL plan has identical benefits as to the 2GB CUL plan but with an enhanced data limit of 3GB per day. The 2GB plan carries price tag of Rs 419 per month while 3GB CUL plan carries price tag of Rs 519 per month. The new users subscribing to 50GB CUL and 120GB CUL plans are required to pay Rs 500 as security deposit with the minimum hire period for the plans set at one month. Airtel Digital Store, a marketplace that enables Airtel users to purchase digital services now has seven products under its portfolio including access to Zee5 subscriptions. The Airtel users can select the platform they want to subscribe to by heading over to the Airtel Digital Store. The users are required to download and sign-in on the Airtel Thanks App. Airtel is providing subscription for Over-the-Top (OTT) platforms such as ZEE5 Premium along with Testbook, Parentlane Pregnancy at a discount. Airtel Digital Store is Offering Various Subscriptions on DiscountWith the Airtel Digital Store, users can get subscriptions of multiple platforms on discount. Starting with ZEE5 Premium, its monthly subscription is available for Rs 89 on the Airtel Digital Store at the moment. For the unaware, it was initially offered for Rs 79 which further changed to Rs 99 and now is being offered for Rs 89 per month. So, at the moment, there is a Rs 10 discount on the monthly subscription fee of ZEE5 Premium. Adding to this, the quarterly subscription of ZEE5 Premium which is normally priced at Rs 299 is now available to the users for just Rs 239. So here the users can enjoy the discount of Rs 60. There is also the yearly subscription of ZEE5 Premium which is typically priced at Rs 999, now on offer for Rs 799. So the users get a discount of Rs 200. Talking about the other discounted subscription platforms, subscription for Textbook which is typically priced at Rs 200 per month is now available for Rs 149 on the Airtel Digital Store. Then there is 'EazyDiner Prime Membership' of 3 months which costs Rs 820 normally, now on offer for Rs 466. BSNL Fibre Basic Rs 449 PlanThe 'Fibre Basic' plan priced at Rs 449 per month enables users to browse up to 30 Mbps speed till 3.3TB (3,300GB) per month. Post consumption of FUP data, the operator restricts the speed to 2 Mbps. Let's look at the availability of this plan across major regions of India. Starting with the Southern region, this plan is available for the users in 6 Business Areas (BA) of Andhra Pradesh including users in Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Tirupati, Rajahmundry, Eluru and Guntur. It is also available in the Chennai circle. In the Kerala circle, the Fibre Basic plan is said to be available in two BA's including Trivandrum and Ernakulam. The Fibre Basic plan is also offered to users in Karnataka in major cities such as Bengaluru, Mysore, Mangaluru, Dharwad, Belgavi, Shimoga, Chickmangalur and Tumkuru. In Tamil Nadu, the new Fibre Basic plan is available in Vellore, Coimbatore, and Pondicherry. However, the Fibre Basic plan currently is said to be not available in Telangana. Coming to the Northern region, this plan is available in Jammu and Srinagar. It is also available in major cities of UP East circle such as Kanpur, Gorakhpur, Lucknow, Varanasi, Allahabad, and Jhansi. For the UP West region, it is available in Meerut, Noida, and Ghaziabad. Talking about the other zones such as North East, Central India and Rest of India (ROI), this plan is available in Jharkhand in cities such as Ranchi, Hazaribagh, Dumka, Jamshedpur, Dhanbad, and Daltonganj. The Fibre Basic plan is also said to be available in Mizoram, Tripura, Nagaland, Manipur, Gangtok, Siliguri, and Jalpaiguri, Raipur, Bilaspur, and Durg. The Fibre Basic plan is also said to be available in the entire areas of Gujarat, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh. This plan is not available in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. BSNL Fibre Value Rs 799 PlanFor the BSNL 'Fibre Value' plan, the user needs to pay Rs 799 per month with the plan enabling users to browse at 100 Mbps Speed till the same 3.3TB (3,300GB) monthly data. Similar to the Fibre Basic plan, the operator restricts the speeds to 2 Mbps upon reaching the 3.3TB data limit. As for availability, it is almost the same as of the BSNL 'Fibre Basic' plan including areas of Bihar such as Patna, Muzaffarpur, Gaya, Munger, Chapra, Madhubani, Bagalpur and Darbhanga. Further, the Fibre Value plan is also said to be available in Telangana. This plan is also not available for the users in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. BSNL Fibre Premium Rs 999 PlanThe BSNL 'Fibre Premium' plan is offered to the users for Rs 999 per month. The Fibre Premium broadband plan ships with 3.3TB (3,300GB) data and 200 Mbps download and upload speeds. The speed drops to 2 Mbps after the FUP data is consumed. Crucially, the operator offers the Over-the-Top (OTT) benefit with the users receiving Disney+ Hotstar Premium subscription. The availability is almost the same as of the above-mentioned plans. However, the operator in areas such as Chhattisgarh offers the plan only in Durg and Raipur. Further, in the North East region, the Fibre Premium plan is said to be not available in Manipur, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh. BSNL Fibre Ultra Rs 1,499 PlanThe BSNL 'Fibre Ultra' plan is priced at Rs 1,499 per month with the plan enabling users to browse up to 300 Mbps download and upload speed till 4TB (4,000GB) data. After the FUP data is consumed, the speed drops to 4 Mbps for the users. Further, the plan also offers an OTT benefit of Disney+ Hotstar Premium subscription.
