most-affordable-broadband-plans

The broadband market has evolved very rapidly. Now consumers expect very high speed downloading and uploading with considerably cheaper plans than before. Today, internet service providers such as Airtel, Jio, and BSNL offer very cheap broadband plans with some really unique benefits. If you are looking for one of the most affordable broadband plans from Airtel, Jio, and BSNL, you have come to the right place. Airtel Xstream Fiber, JioFiber, and BSNL Bharat Fiber all offer broadband plans which fall under the Rs 500 category. Let's take a look at all these affordable plans from these internet service providers (ISPs).

JioFiber Rs 399 Broadband Plan

The Rs 399 broadband plan from JioFiber offer users 30 Mbps downloading and uploading speed. It comes with a validity of one month and offers unlimited data (3.3TB or 3,300GB) to the users. There is also free voice calling included in the plan. Unfortunately, there are no over-the-top (OTT) benefits included.

Airtel Xstream Fiber Rs 499 Broadband Plan

The Airtel Xstream Fiber Rs 499 broadband plan is the cheapest one you can get from the ISP. With this plan, the users get 40 Mbps downloading and uploading speed. Users get unlimited data (3.3TB or 3,333GB) with this plan as well. With unlimited calling, there are OTT benefits such as Airtel Xstream Fiber, Wynk Music, Shaw Academy, Voot Basic, Eros Now, Shemaroo Me, Ultra, and Hungama Play included as well.

BSNL Bharat Fiber Rs 449 Broadband Plan

Just Rs 50 more than the JioFiber's Rs 399 broadband plan, the Rs 449 broadband plan from BSNL Bharat Fiber isn't much different. With BSNL's cheapest plan, users get 30 Mbps downloading and uploading speed along with 3.3TB or 3,300GB monthly fair usage policy (FUP) data, the same as JioFiber's cheapest plan. There are no OTT benefits included with this plan too. So one can say, apart from the price difference, there is not much distinction between the BSNL Rs 499 broadband plan and JioFiber Rs 399 broadband plan.

In terms of benefits offered, the most affordable broadband plan from Airtel Xstream Fiber takes the lead comfortably.

WhatsApp is easily one of the biggest social media platforms across the world. While it makes texting and connecting with friends, family, colleagues, and other people easier, it has its fair share of disadvantages as well. WhatsApp is being used as a tool by many fraudsters to collect one time passwords (OTPs) from strangers and loot their hard-earned money. A lot of people have been scammed already. One simple way to safeguard yourself from such frauds is being aware. More details ahead.

WhatsApp OTP Scam, How Does it Happen and How You Can Protect Yourself

The fraudsters in WhatsApp will pose as normal fellow citizens to you. They will text that they have accidentally sent their 6 digit OTP to you and will request that you give it to them. If you give the 6 digit code to them, they will be able to complete the money transaction and you will lose your hard-earned money.

To safeguard yourself from such frauds, just be alert. Never give your sensitive information to anyone through WhatsApp or any other online medium. This includes even people that you know and trust, don't give them any sensitive information blindly.

These scammers have also learnt to take over your WhatsApp account via WhatsApp Web on their browser and then extract all the numbers from your contacts. They would further pose as your friend to these contacts and ask them for sensitive information.

There is one more thing that you can do to protect your WhatsApp account from being hacked. It is activating 'Two Factor Authentication'. Here is how you can do it. First, go to the 'WhatsApp Settings'. Then tap on 'Account > Two-step verification > Enable. You will be prompted to enter a six-digit PIN code after that. You can also add an email address or skip it if you want. Then tap on the 'Next' button followed by 'Save' or 'Done'.

One more thing that you should keep in mind is that there is no one way for these fraudsters to scam you. You need to be on your toes and understand that there are multiple ways in which scammers can get you.

After staying silent for a while, Transsion Holdings seems to be getting back on track in India. After Infinix launching a smartphone last month, Tecno Mobiles is all set to launch a new device called ‘Tecno Pova’ in the Asian sub-continent. The Tecno Pova was launched very recently in the Philippines and the phone is powered by MediaTek Helio G80 chipset. Usually, Tecno aims at the offline market, so that might continue with the Tecno Pova as well. This could mean the phone will retail for over Rs 10,000 and might even reach the Rs 15,000 price point. The launch is set for December 4 and the handset will also be available via Flipkart online marketplace.

Tecno Pova: Specifications and Features

The Tecno Pova is a budget smartphone competing with the Redmi 9 Prime which is currently the best phone under Rs 10,000. The Pova sports a massive 6.8-inch HD+ screen with a resolution of 720×1600 pixels. At the heart of the phone is the MediaTek Helio G80 chipset, paired with up to 6GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. The phone also has a microSD card slot for storage expansion.

To the back, the Tecno Pova rocks a quad-camera setup of 13MP primary shooter, a couple of 2MP sensors and an AI HD lens. There’s also a quad-LED flash. Tecno has added an 8MP selfie camera.

The handset is backed by a 6000mAh battery and runs on Android 10 out of the box. The best part is the phone features a USB Type-C port on the bottom.

With the landing page on Flipkart, we can confirm the phone will be available online. However, as noted, Tecno focusses majorly on the offline market. The Tecno Pova was launched for PHP 6,999 in the Philippines which comes for around Rs 10,800. Considering the HD+ display, the Tecno Pova might retail for around Rs 12,000 in India. The launch date is just a week away where the company will unveil the availability and the pricing.

BSNL Reportedly Installed More Than 85,000 FTTH Connections in October

Posted: 26 Nov 2020 08:00 PM PST

This post first appeared on TelecomTalk Read more at: https://telecomtalk.info/bsnl-new-monthly-ftth-installations/313419/, BSNL Reportedly Installed More Than 85,000 FTTH Connections in October

State-run BSNL has reportedly witnessing increased demand for its Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) services across the country. A new Business Line report says BSNL installed over 85,000 new connections last month. And the telco is focussing on taking the overall number to more than one lakh per month. BSNL is the leading broadband operator in India with around eight million subscribers under its belt. However, the ISP is losing the existing subscribers regularly, as per the data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai). BSNL’s wired broadband user base used to be over 12 million a couple of years now, but it has now come down to around eight million. At the end of August 2020, BSNL’s broadband market share was 39.84%, followed by Bharti Airtel with 21.86% share.

BSNL Plans to Install 1 Lakh FTTH Connections Every Month

According to the Telecom Subscription Data released by Trai for August 2020, BSNL lost 97,855 existing users. However, the Business Line reports the ISP added a very decent 88,779 FTTH connections. Furthermore, it is said that BSNL installed 15,793 connections in Kerala circle alone, followed by Tamil Nadu with 10,539 new connections. The report further added that the users are opting for BSNL’s basic FTTH plans, but there’s no information on which is the best selling broadband plan.

This news comes as a surprise because BSNL lost around one lakh existing users in August itself. But it is worth noting that the ISP introduced affordable plans such as the Rs 449, Rs 599 and even modified the existing Rs 777 broadband plans. BSNL revised these plans to match the similar offerings from JioFiber and Airtel Xstream Fiber.

The Trai might release subscription data for September 2020 in a couple of weeks which will give an exact idea on this report. At the moment, BSNL is going head to head with JioFiber in terms of broadband plans. The Rs 399 JioFiber plan is tackled by BSNL’s Rs 449 plan. All the latest offerings from BSNL come with unlimited data (aka 3.3TB FUP limit) which might be attracting the customers. Earlier, majority of the BSNL’s broadband plans had a mere FUP limit.
