After launching three smartphones in the OnePlus Nord series, the Chinese smartphone brand is now said to add OnePlus Nord SE to the lineup in Q1 2021. The OnePlus Nord is one of the popular smartphones launched this year and it could be the best selling device under Rs 30,000 in India. The next two phones- Nord N10 5G and the Nord N100 did not reach the Indian market. The upcoming OnePlus Nord SE is said to be aimed at the Indian and European markets. The phone could feature 65W fast charging tech which we recently saw on the OnePlus 8T. We are still months away from the launch of Nord SE, but the key specifications have already been leaked online, courtesy of Android Central.

OnePlus Nord SE: AMOLED Screen, 65W Charging and More in Tow

The report says the OnePlus Nord SE will be identical to the OnePlus Nord with features like AMOLED screen and fast charging. In fact, the phone is said to have 65W fast charging support, something that’s currently exclusive to the OnePlus 8T. Even the OnePlus 8 Pro supports only 30W wired charging. The Nord SE, similar to the other Nord devices launched till date, will be aimed at the budget and mid-range markets.

The Nord SE will likely sport a 4500mAh battery something similar to the OnePlus 8T again. And there might be a high refresh rate screen as well. Rest of the specifications like the processor and camera system are unknown at the moment.

OnePlus is rumoured to launch its next flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 9, sometime in March 2021. So the Nord SE might arrive right after the OnePlus 9 series. It is good to see OnePlus pushing the Nord series to boost sales, but at the same time, it should continue to provide timely software updates to existing models.

In other news, OnePlus might make the OnePlus 8T Cyberpunk Edition global in a few weeks from now.

Vivo V20 Pro With Snapdragon 765G SoC Could Launch at Rs 29,990 in India

This post first appeared on TelecomTalk Read more at: https://telecomtalk.info/vivo-v20-pro-price-leaked/309534/, Vivo V20 Pro With Snapdragon 765G SoC Could Launch at Rs 29,990 in India

Chinese smartphone major Vivo recently released the Vivo V20 and V20 SE devices in India. However, the Vivo V20 Pro is yet to make its way to the Indian market. A new report now says the V20 Pro will debut in India in December and the price of the handset will be under Rs 30,000. The Vivo V20 Pro is already available in Thailand with mid-range specs like Snapdragon 765G SoC, AMOLED display, 44MP selfie camera and more. If the rumoured price is anything to go by, the Vivo V20 Pro or the V20 Pro 5G will take on the OnePlus Nord that’s currently available at a starting price of Rs 24,999. The Vivo V20 with Snapdragon 720G SoC is available at Rs 24,990, so it makes complete sense for the company to launch the V20 Pro at Rs 29,999 in India.

Vivo V20 Pro: Price, Launch Date in India Leaked

The news report coming from 91mobiles says the Vivo V20 Pro could launch in December and the starting price of the phone will match the price of OnePlus Nord’s top-end model. It is a bit of bummer to see Vivo delaying the launch of V20 Pro in India considering the phone is already available in Thailand. Vivo launched the V20 and the V20 SE smartphones in India to boost the sales during festive season.

Since the V20 Pro is already available in Thailand, we have the complete spec-sheet of the smartphone. For starters, the phone flaunts a 6.44-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with 1080×2400 pixels resolution and HDR10 support. Surprisingly, the V20 Pro has a notch on top of the display which houses the dual selfie camera setup of 44MP primary shooter and 8MP ultra-wide-angle shooter. In contrast, the Vivo V20 arrived with a single 44MP selfie camera.

The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G SoC and comes in a single 8GB+128GB storage model. Rear cameras on the smartphone include 64MP primary sensor that works in tandem with an 8MP ultra-wide-angle shooter and a 2MP monochrome sensor. It runs on Android 10 out of the box and is 5G compatible. There’s a 4000mAh battery fuelling the device and Vivo has added 33W fast charging support.

At the moment, we are not sure whether Vivo is planning to launch the same model of V20 Pro in India.

whatsapp-pick-these-features-telegram-right-now

WhatsApp, with over 2 billion users and 5+ billion downloads is one of the biggest social media platforms in the world. The Facebook-owned chatting app brings regular updates to make texting more interactive and convenient for the user. Much recently, WhatsApp announced that it is rolling out WhatsApp Pay support for the Indian market. While it is a good and handy feature, there are other things WhatsApp could include in the app. WhatsApp can take a few features from another chatting and texting app, Telegram. Keep reading ahead to find out which features are they.

5 Features WhatsApp Can take From Telegram

The first feature that WhatsApp can take from Telegram is 'Multiple Number Support'. WhatsApp users can't add another number on the same device without using the parallel app feature. Telegram on the other hand allows users to add up to 3 numbers on the same device. If this feature were to be implemented, users having two SIMs on the same device will feel very relieved.

The second feature that WhatsApp can pick from Telegram is 'Message Reactions'. While users can reply to a particular message by selecting it, they can't react to it via using emojis directly. The message reaction feature is also there on other platforms such as Instagram, Slack, and more.

The third feature is the 'Scheduled Messages'. This particular feature will allow users to schedule messages and be worry-free. For example, someone could schedule a 'Happy Birthday' message to their friend and sleep. This way, they would also wish the other person and get some sleep as well. Telegram already offers users this feature, it is high time that WhatsApp does as well.

The fourth feature which WhatsApp should take from Telegram is 'Sharing Files of up to 1.5GB' in size. Right now, WhatsApp users are allowed to share a file with a maximum size of 100MB. Whereas Telegram users can share files as big as 1.5GB. This is something WhatsApp should look into as well.

The last feature that WhatsApp can take from Telegram right now is 'Hide Phone Number' from other people. Telegram users can hide their number from anyone they are chatting with, even the people who are on their contacts list on the device. Whereas WhatsApp users can't hide their number when they are texting somebody.

Vodafone Idea Won’t Default on Paying Back to Lenders

vodafone-idea-wont-default-paying-to-lenders

Vodafone Idea (Vi), the third-largest telecom operator of the country has assured the banks/lenders that it won't default on making its loan payments. The telco has taken multiple loans from several banks and lenders which it seeks to repay in the foreseeable future. The payment for the next instalment of the adjusted gross revenue (AGR) dues is not until March 2022 for the telco. As per an ET Telecom report, the operator has said that whatever cashflow it generates within the next year will be used to repay the loans. More details on the story ahead.

Lenders Have Faith in Vi's Capability of Paying Back

A bank official has expressed that the telco had flagged the bank about its incapability of paying back the loans last year. But after the rebranding and plans for raising up to Rs 25,000 crore, the message from the telco has changed. Vi has communicated with the banks that it will clear all its dues and the banks trust the telco on its word.

The gut feeling of the bank officials is that the worst is behind for Vi. The best part for the telco is that until March 2022, the operator doesn't have any spectrum payments to clear. So there is a lot of time for the telco to generate enough cash flow to start repaying its loans.

Vi owes Rs 11,200 crore to the State Bank of India (SBI), Rs 1,000 crore to the Punjab National Bank (PNB), Rs 5,000 crore to the Induslnd Bank, and Rs 1,700 crore to the ICICI Bank. These are the major lenders for the telco.

Even though the telco has promised that it will pay out the loans, it continues to lose subscribers every quarter. In the first quarter of this financial year, Vi lost 11 million subscribers followed by 8 million more subscribers in the next quarter.

Vi has to pay a total amount of Rs 50,000 crore in 10 instalments by 2031 for clearing its AGR dues. The operator needs to expand its 4G services to more parts of the country to sustain. Ravinder Takkar, CEO of Vi has expressed that the telco won't mind being the first in the industry to implement tariff hikes.

This post first appeared on TelecomTalk Read more at: https://telecomtalk.info/samsung-galaxy-m21s-goes-official/309432/, Samsung Galaxy M21s With 64MP Rear Camera and 32MP Selfie Shooter Goes Official

Samsung’s latest mid-range Galaxy M21s has been officially announced. As the name of the smartphone itself suggests, the Galaxy M21s is a slightly upgraded version of the Galaxy M21 which debuted in India earlier this year. However, the Galaxy M21s has been unveiled in Brazil first, but there are very high chances of the phone reaching the Indian market very soon, probably in the next couple of weeks. The Galaxy M21s brings upgrades to the camera systems- both front and back when compared to its predecessor. In fact, the specifications of the M21s are very much identical to those of the Galaxy F41 which was also launched very recently in India.

Samsung Galaxy M21s: Specifications and Features

The Galaxy M21s, as noted, has identical specifications as the Galaxy M21. To the front, we get a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The phone is powered by Samsung’s in-house Exynos 9611 chipset and it comes in a single 4GB+64GB storage model. We have seen Samsung using Exynos 9611 in so many smartphones and the Galaxy M21s just adds into the list. There’s a microSD card slot as well for storage expansion up to 512GB.

Samsung has upgraded the cameras on Galaxy M21s; We now get a 64MP primary shooter instead of the 48MP snapper that was present on the rear side of the Galaxy M21. Other sensors include an 8MP ultra-wide and a 5MP depth sensor. The M21s has a triple camera setup on the back. To the front, Samsung has added a 32MP snapper which is different from the 20MP snapper that was present on its predecessor.

Rest of the specifications are identical. The M21s has a 6000mAh battery, 15W fast charging, OneUI laden on top of Android 10, USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack is also present.

Samsung Galaxy M21s: Pricing and Availability

Samsung has launched the M21s in a single variant with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage priced at BRL 1,529 (approx. Rs 20,400). The phone could reach the Indian market for a lower price of around Rs 16,000-Rs 18,000. Samsung India might reveal the launch details of Galaxy M21s in the coming days.

Vodafone Idea Postpaid Data Packs Start at Rs 100 and Offer Up to 50GB

Posted: 08 Nov 2020 05:41 PM PST

This post first appeared on TelecomTalk Read more at: https://telecomtalk.info/vi-postpaid-data-packs-detailed/309409/, Vodafone Idea Postpaid Data Packs Start at Rs 100 and Offer Up to 50GB

Even since the announcement of new brand identity, Vi aka Vodafone Idea has been making some significant changes. We have seen Vi launching some unique offers to prepaid users in recent times. And it also has some affordable and noteworthy postpaid plans under its arsenal. Vi postpaid plans already ship with a decent amount of data benefit every month, but for those who consume more than the allotted limit, the telco has a couple of ‘Data Packs.’ These offerings from Vi are very identical to those of Bharti Airtel, but the data benefit offered by Vi is slightly on the higher side. The two data packs for Vi postpaid users are Rs 100 and Rs 200, and they offer up to 50GB data benefit.

Vi Postpaid Data Packs: What They Offer to Users?

The first data pack for all the Vi postpaid users is priced at Rs 100. It offers a user 20GB of data benefit on top of the existing postpaid plan’s data benefit. The second postpaid data pack is priced at Rs 200 and it offers a user 50GB of data benefit. In contrast, Airtel’ similarly priced data packs for postpaid users offer 15GB and 35GB data benefit respectively.

Vi says the data packs can be activated and deactivated by calling up the call centre. We are unable to verify the activation process via the mobile app of Vi. The data packs are priced on the decent side by Vi. Reliance Jio is not offering any such data packs with its JioPostpaid Plus plans. If a JioPostpaid Plus plan user consumes the allotted monthly data, then the company will start charging at Rs 10 per GB. The same applies to Vi users as well as the company will start charging Rs 20 per GB after the free data consumption.

Vi REDX Rs 699 Postpaid Plan Offers Unlimited Data Benefit

As mentioned at the beginning, Vi has some very decent postpaid plans and one of them is priced at Rs 699. Also known as the Vi Entertainment Plus postpaid plan, it comes with unlimited data benefit (capped at 150GB data similar to Vi REDX postpaid plan). It also provides a user free voice calling to any network within India, 100 SMSes per day, Amazon Prime subscription worth Rs 999, Vi Movies and TV Subscription, up to Rs 200 off on food orders on Zomato and Rs 125 MPL Cash.

It is a very good plan for individual users. Sadly, the next plan after the Rs 649 postpaid plan from Vodafone Idea is the REDX plan that’s priced at Rs 1,099. On a good note, the company is providing Rs 399 postpaid plan as well to existing users.
