| Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G Likely to Launch in India as Xiaomi Mi 10i Posted: 01 Dec 2020 05:35 AM PST This post first appeared on TelecomTalk Read more at: https://telecomtalk.info/xiaomi-mi-10i-india-launch-specs/314323/, Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G Likely to Launch in India as Xiaomi Mi 10i
Xiaomi will likely launch the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G smartphone in India as Mi 10i. The Note 9 Pro 5G recently made its debut in India and it is amongst the first phones in the world to feature Snapdragon 750G SoC. Since we already have the Redmi Note 9 series in India, the Chinese company might be looking to launch this phone under the Mi 10 series. The Mi 10 series already has three phones in the country- the Mi 10, Mi 10T and the Mi 10T Pro. Also, apart from the Mi 10T, the Mi 10 and Mi 10T Pro features a 108MP primary camera on the back, which is also the case with Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G. The Mi 10i has been spotted on Google Play Console listing, so the launch seems to be imminent. Additionally, 91mobiles reported the colour options and RAM variants of the Mi 10i for India. Xiaomi Mi 10i: A Rebranded Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G for IndiaXiaomi was rumoured to launch the Mi 10T Lite smartphone as well in India alongside the Mi 10T series back in October. However, that didn’t happen. The Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G is very much similar to the Mi 10T Lite, albeit the presence of 108MP sensor on the former. So now, the company is again rumoured to launch a new Mi phone, dubbed as Mi 10i. The Mi 10i is said to arrive in various colour options- Blue, Black, and Gradient Orange/Blue hues, and in at least two storage configurations- 6GB+128GB and 8GB+128GB. The Note 9 Pro 5G starts at 1599 Yuan in China and we are not sure about the Indian prices of the smartphone. Since the phone is being launched under the Mi brand, it could be on the pricier side. As for the specs, the Mi 10i or the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G flaunts a 6.67-inch Full HD+ screen with 120Hz refresh rate. It is powered by Snapdragon 750G SoC, paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The USP of the phone would be the 108MP Samsung HM2 sensor on the back which works with an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, 2MP macro sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. The phone is backed by a 4820mAh battery with 33W fast charging. The Mi 10i could launch in December itself as the brand would be looking to end the year on a high note. Besides the Mi 10i, Redmi is also expected to launch Redmi 9 Power which again is said to be a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 9 4G. | Motorola G9 Plus Gets BIS Certification, Might Launch Soon Posted: 30 Nov 2020 11:03 PM PST This post first appeared on TelecomTalk Read more at: https://telecomtalk.info/motorola-g9-plus-india-launch/314240/, Motorola G9 Plus Gets BIS Certification, Might Launch Soon
Motorola yesterday launched the Moto G 5G in the country, tagged as the 'most affordable 5G smartphone for India' by the company. Now Motorola might launch the Moto G9 Plus very soon for the Indian market. It is worth noting that the Moto G9, the base variant in the series was already launched in India back in August. For the unaware, the Moto G9 Plus is already selling on the Brazil market, and now, since the device has got a certification from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), it is expected to soon make its way to the Indian market. Motorola G9 Plus Specifications (Expected)There aren't any specifications mentioned in the BIS listing, but it can be assumed that the Indian variant of the device won't be any different from the global one. Looking at the global one, it can be expected that the Moto G9 Plus comes with a 6.8-inch FHD+ Max Vision display and HDR10 support. The smartphone might be powered by the 2.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G SoC coupled with up to 4GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage. Out of the box, the Moto G9 Plus is expected to run on Android 10, but if it's Android 11, that would be even better. There might be a quad-camera setup on the rear of the device housing a 64MP primary sensor paired with an 8GB wide-angle lens, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro sensor. For additional security, the fingerprint scanner might be mounted on the side. It is likely that the device carries a massive 5,000mAh battery with support for 30W TurboPower charging technology. The smartphone won't be 5G supportive. In connectivity, the Moto G9 Plus is expected to come with support for NFC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Motorola G9 Plus Price (Expected)The Motorola G9 Plus was launched for BRL 2,499.10 in Brazil which is approximately Rs 34,500. But the original price for India should be much lesser than the price assumed above. This is because the pricing of the previous models was much lower than the Rs 30,000 mark. The Moto G9 was launched for Rs 11,499 for 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. Original article: Motorola G9 Plus Gets BIS Certification, Might Launch Soon ©2020 TelecomTalk. All Rights Reserved. |

| Smaller Broadband Players Have Equal Opportunity to Grow as Big Players: Motilal Oswal Posted: 30 Nov 2020 08:04 PM PST This post first appeared on TelecomTalk Read more at: https://telecomtalk.info/smaller-broadband-players-equal-opportunity/314196/, Smaller Broadband Players Have Equal Opportunity to Grow as Big Players: Motilal Oswal
The Indian wireline market has remained highly underpenetrated for years due to weak wired infrastructure. However, with Reliance Jio entering the segment, it is expected that the ISP would create similar disruption as it did to the telecom market four years ago. Motilal Oswal believes that Jio’s aggressive push in the broadband market may not create an impact. In global markets, wired broadband is a well-networked infrastructure leveraged for data consumption, driven by higher Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) penetration supported by lower FTTH deployment cost/subscriber. In India, the situation is quite the opposite as the market has seen limited investments which resulted in subscriber growth and a major shift towards wireless consumption. Furthermore, the market research firm added that the smaller broadband players in the country have equal opportunities in the market as big players. Small Players Gain Market Share During LockdownReliance Jio has set its sights of achieving 50 million broadband subscribers and Motilal Oswal says a player of Jio’ scale and the past record could drive growth in the ecosystem. Jio’s current target of 50 million is a massive 2.5x higher than the existing industry subscriber base of 20.5 million. The Indian Wireline market is currently dominated by BSNL, Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio, which account for around 57% of the total market size. If seen in the context of total households in India at 298 million and 197 million TV-owning households, the market potential seems strong. The market is divided in a way that 20-25% of subscribers are premium high ARPU customers, while the rest are satisfied with low ARPU data connectivity plans, believes Motilal Oswal. With Jio’s launch, other players have stepped up network rollout/home passes to retain the market share. Internet Service Providers (ISPs) are currently targeting premium customers with higher APRU fibre-based plans along with value-added services like entertainment, home security and automation. The local ISPs are also predicted to have equal opportunity to grow in the market. The research firm stated that there’s an increased demand for low ARPU conventional home broadband connectivity during the recent lockdown. The performances of regional ISPs from March 2020 to August 2020 also suggest the same as they accounted for 84% of the overall wireline subscriber growth of 7%.
