| Poco M2 Starts Receiving MIUI 12 Stable Update in India Posted: 30 Dec 2020 07:49 AM PST This post first appeared on TelecomTalk Read more at: https://telecomtalk.info/poco-m2-miui-12-update-india/322043/, Poco M2 Starts Receiving MIUI 12 Stable Update in India
Multiple users of the Poco M2 are now reporting the arrival of stable MIUI 12 update on their smartphone. The Poco M2 was launched with Android 10-based MIUI 11 in September this year. It is a rebadged Redmi 9 Prime and is touted as India’s affordable smartphone with 6GB of RAM. MIUI 12 brings many new features like redesigned interface, animations and new control center and more. Notably, this is the fourth Poco smartphone to pick up the stable MIUI 12 update in India after the Poco F1, Poco X2 and Poco M2 Pro. The newly launched Poco X3 arrived with MIUI 12 out of the box. That said, the MIUI 12 update for Poco M2 is still based on Android 10 and not Android 11. Poco M2 Android 11 Update: Check What’s New?According to the changelog spotted from the screenshots posted by multiple Poco M2 users on Twitter, the company has improved overall system stability and reduced system lag. The update comes with a build number of MIUI 12.0.1.0.QJRINXM with just over 500MB in size. While the changelog did not reveal the features added by Poco to the M2, we are expecting all the MIUI 12 features might be available after the update. The MIUI 12.0.1.0 update for Poco M2 adds December 2020 security patches as well. MIUI 12 brings a host of new features like a revamped control center, new animations all across the user interface, floating windows to allow smooth multitasking, Dark Mode 2.0 and so on. Almost all the Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco smartphones have received the entire features set of MIUI 12 without any omission. The MIUI 12.0.1.0 update for Poco M2 might be a staged one, so you can expect it on your handset in the next couple of weeks. Since the Poco M2 is a rebranded version of Redmi 9 Prime, we can expect the MIUI 12 stable update rollout to the latter in the next few weeks. In other news, Xiaomi has announced MIUI 12.5 with some handful of new features alongside the flagship Mi 11 series in China. There’s no official word on when MIUI 12.5 will be rolled out to Poco smartphones. The Poco M2 is priced at Rs 10,999 for the 6GB+64GB variant and Rs 11,999 for the 6GB+128GB mode. As part of Flipkart’ sale, the Poco M2 is available at Rs 9,999 and Rs 10,999, respectively. So you are getting a 6GB of RAM phone for under Rs 10,000. Rest of the specifications of the smartphone are also decent; The M2 has MediaTek Helio G80 SoC underneath, 13MP quad-camera setup on the back and a 5000mAh battery backs the smartphone. |
| BSNL Increases Prices of Rs 186 and Rs 199 Prepaid Plans: Check Details Posted: 30 Dec 2020 06:29 AM PST This post first appeared on TelecomTalk Read more at: https://telecomtalk.info/bsnl-rs186-rs199-plans-price-hike/322030/, BSNL Increases Prices of Rs 186 and Rs 199 Prepaid Plans: Check Details
A couple of weeks ago, we reported the introduction of a new Rs 199 prepaid recharge by BSNL that replaces the existing Rs 199 plan available to the customers. However, BSNL has now clarified that it will be increasing the prices of Rs 186 (PV 186) and Rs 199 (STV 199) prepaid plans across all the telecom circles where these plans are available. The PV 186’s price will be increased to Rs 199, and it will be called as ‘PV 199’ going forward. The STV 199 or the Rs 199 prepaid recharge will retail at Rs 201 and will be called as STV 201. The new changes will be effective from January 1, 2021. BSNL’s PV 186 is available across all the telecom circles, while the STV 199 is limited to a few circles in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, etc. BSNL PV 186 and STV 199 Receive Price Hike: Check New PricesThe PV 186 will be called as PV 199 going forward. For the unaware, the plan offers 250 minutes of free voice calls per day in Home LSA and national roaming including MTNL Mumbai & Delhi. It also comes with 2GB data per day and 100 SMSes per day for 28 days. The STV 199 whose price is being increased to STV 201 offers 250 minutes of voice calls to any network in Home LSA only, 1GB data per day and 100 SMSes per day for 28 days. BSNL also offers Cricket PRBT, free PRBT and cricket SMS alert at no extra cost with STV 201. The price hike isn’t a major one, but some users may not like this move from BSNL. PV 186 is one of the most popular ones from BSNL across all the circles, thanks to the data benefit of 56GB on offer. BSNL is known for revising the prepaid plans, especially the ones priced on the budget. For example, the PV 186 used to offer 3GB data per day a few months ago for 24 days. The telco reduced the data benefit to 2GB per day and again increased the validity to 28 days. When BSNL launched the PV 186 a couple of years ago, it offered 2GB data per day which was increased to 3GB per day in between. The STV 199 was revised back in August 2019 and it is now getting a price hike- a very minimal one. BSNL never increases the prices of its prepaid plans; Instead, the telco reduces either the validity or benefits. So the price hike from BSNL comes as a surprise, but we can’t blame the telco as well considering its financial situation. |

| Kerala Vision Bumps FUP Limit to 4TB on Select Broadband Plans Posted: 29 Dec 2020 09:40 PM PST This post first appeared on TelecomTalk Read more at: https://telecomtalk.info/kerala-vision-fup-limit-increase/321922/, Kerala Vision Bumps FUP Limit to 4TB on Select Broadband Plans
Kerala Vision, the local Internet Service Provider (ISP) in Kerala, has brought a new introductory offer to kickstart 2021. As part of the new XMas-New Year offer, Kerala Vision will provide 4TB FUP limit on three broadband plans for a limited period up to January 31, 2021. Kerala Vision’s broadband plans start at Rs 528.36 including taxes for the 30 Mbps plan and they go up to Rs 924.63 for the 100 Mbps broadband plan. The ISP currently has three broadband plans on offer, and all of them offer up to 4TB of FUP limit. Almost all the broadband operators in the country are offering 3.3TB FUP limit, so it is a good move from Kerala Vision to bump the FUP limit to 4TB. Kerala Vision Broadband Plans Now Offer 4TB FUP LimitStarting with the basic broadband plan from Kerala Vision, it offers 30 Mbps speeds, 4TB data per month and after FUP speeds of 2 Mbps. The final price of this plan, including taxes, would be Rs 528.36, according to Kerala Vision’s website. Moving on, we have the 60 Mbps broadband plan priced at Rs 660.45 (including taxes) with the same 4TB FUP limit and after FUP speeds of 2 Mbps. Lastly, we have the 100 Mbps broadband plan from Kerala Vision that retails for Rs 924.63 including taxes for one month and comes with 4TB FUP limit with 2 Mbps after FUP speeds. There are some terms and conditions for Kerala Vision’s XMas-New Year offer. Firstly, these introductory plans are applicable for only new connections, and the benefits mentioned would be valid for the first six months from the date of activation. The offer is valid for up to January 31, 2021, and can be availed only in monthly subscriptions. As you can see, Kerala Vision’s broadband plans are very good for the asking price. Besides the three plans mentioned above, the company is also offering other plans in Kerala, however, they do not ship with 4TB FUP limit. For example, there’s a 20 Mbps broadband plan from Kerala Vision that comes at Rs 474.81 (again including taxes) but with 500GB FUP limit and 2 Mbps after FUP speeds. The company even has some unlimited data plans which are priced on the higher side. Kerala Vision’s premium 200 Mbps broadband plan is also priced on the stepper side at Rs 2,973.81 per month with 3TB FUP limit and 10 Mbps after FUP speeds. If you live in Kerala and has a connection from Kerala Vision, let us know your experience with the operator in the comment section below. |

The rollout has been officially confirmed by Asus itself on its forums ZenTalk. The update, for now, seems to be limited to the Taiwanese market, but we can expect Asus India to roll out the same to Asus 6Z as well. The Asus 6Z was well received by the Indian audience thanks to its affordable price that took on the likes of Redmi K20 Pro and OnePlus 7. It is good to see Asus rolling out the latest Android 11 update to the 2019 flagship at a time when top brands are failing to deliver promised updates. The update comes with 18.0610.2011.107 build number. Asus Zenfone 6/Asus 6Z Android 11 Update: What You Should ExpectThe Asus Zenfone 6 Android 11 update comes with build number- 18.0610.2011.107. To recall, the Zenfone 6 arrived with Android 9 Pie out of the box and the company even updated it to Android 10 last year in November. So it is a second major update for the Asus Zenfone 6 and could also be the final one. Asus has detailed the changelog of Android 11 update for Zenfone 6. The company says the all the Android 11 features will be added to the Zenfone 6 and asks the users to back up the data before upgrading. And yes, the company says it is a staged rollout so not everyone will get it right away. It also removed the Avast scan engine from the smartphone. Asus has added the new ZenUI interface and it adjusted various settings like new quick setting panel interface and new media controls. Due to some trademark issues, Asus brought the Zenfone 6 to India as Asus 6Z, and it could receive the same Android 11 update in early January 2021. Asus did not launch the Zenfone 7 in India but the ROG Phone 3 received some great reviews from the media and audience alike. Chinese smartphone brand, OnePlus, has confirmed the delay of Android 11 update rollout for OnePlus 7 series. |
