Amazon Prime Video is now getting a new feature called ‘Watch Party‘ in India. As the name itself suggests, this feature allows a person to create a party and he/she can invite others to join the party so that they can watch the movie or a TV show together. There’s also a chat feature built-in. Since the pandemic began, Amazon Prime Video became popular in the country because of its OTT releases in regional languages. The video streaming platform is going all guns against Netflix which is currently providing free service for 48 hours. Priced at Rs 129 per month and Rs 999 for one year, Amazon Prime subscription comes bundled with faster Prime shipping service, Amazon Prime Music and Amazon Prime Video at no extra cost.

How to Use Watch Party Feature in Amazon Prime Video

Before we talk about anything else, it is to be noted that the Watch Party feature on Amazon Prime Video is limited to just desktops. Available at no additional cost, any Amazon Prime Video user can create a party by heading over to their favourite movie or TV show. Once created, you can copy the Watch Party or share it directly from the Prime Video website.

The person creating the party will be termed as host, whereas others will be termed as participants. All the participants joining a watch party must have an active Amazon Prime Video subscription. The host will have full access to the party, and the participants can just watch and chat with the host and other participants. Amazon Prime Video supports up to 100 participants in a single Watch Party which is impressive.

The new feature announcement from Amazon Prime Video comes at a time when Netflix is providing 48 hours of free streaming to all the users in the country as part of its ‘StreamFest 2020.’ Netflix faced a major issue while hosting the StreamFest 2020 on December 5 & 6. The number of users exceeded the company’s expectations and it was forced to stop the campaign for a brief period saying StreamFest 2020 is full. Netflix has extended the StreamFest 2020 in India till December 9, assuring that all the requested users will get free access to the service for 48 hours.

Xiaomi is reportedly looking to launch two new smartphones in India by the end of December 2020 and close the year on a high note. The two smartphones in question are the Mi 10i and the Redmi 9 Power. The Mi 10i is said to be a rebranded version of Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G, whereas the Redmi 9 Power could be the rebranded version of Redmi Note 9 4G. Now, tipster Mukul Sharma claims the Redmi 9 Power aka the Redmi Note 9 4G will debut in India on December 15, subject if there’s no last-minute change from Xiaomi. The Redmi 9 Power was already spotted on Google Play Console M2010J19SI. Xiaomi might start teasing the smartphone’s launch by the end of this week. We should also see when is the company planning to launch the Mi 10i in the country as it was also spotted on Google Play Console.

Redmi 9 Power India Launch: What to Expect?

As noted, Xiaomi is yet to confirm the launch of Redmi 9 Power in India, so take this news with a pinch of salt. Since the Redmi 9 Power is expected to be a rebranded version of Redmi Note 9 4G, we have the complete spec-sheet of the smartphone.

Reliance Jio to Accelerate the Launch of Low-Cost 4G Android Smartphone: Report

This post first appeared on TelecomTalk Read more at: https://telecomtalk.info/jio-accelerate-launch-android-phones/315269/, Reliance Jio to Accelerate the Launch of Low-Cost 4G Android Smartphone: Report

reliance-jio-prepaid-plans

The Trai subscription data released for September 2020 revealed that the monthly new user addition of Reliance Jio has slowed down completely. Trai stated that Bharti Airtel added more than twofold new subscribers than Reliance Jio. Market research firm ICICI Securities predicts that Jio will now accelerate the launch of its low-cost 4G Android smartphone. For the unaware, the Mukesh Ambani-led telco is planning to launch cheap Android phones for less than Rs 5,000 in partnership with Google. The search giant is said to take care of the software side of things, whereas Jio will look after the hardware. While nothing is known about the specifications of these upcoming phones from Jio, analysts are now predicting that the telco will hasten the launch due to slowed subscriber additions.

Jio 4G Android Phones Already Tipped to Launch in Q1 2021

Back in September, a report added that the low-cost 4G phones from Jio and Google would debut in December. However, that isn’t happening as the telco is now said to launch them in Q1 2021. As part of the partnership, both Jio and Google are looking to develop affordable 4G smartphones and even 5G smartphones. The launch is also said to be delayed to Q1 2021 due to ongoing supply chain issues.

Reliance Jio managed to add just 1.5 million new subscribers way below that of Airtel’s 3.6 million new additions in September. Jio’s active subscriber base percentage is also way lower than that of Bharti Airtel, which is also becoming a worrying factor for the telco.

When it reached the 100 million subscriber base mark in just five months, Jio revealed its intentions of grabbing 500 million subscribers and becoming leading telecom operator at the earliest. It became the leading operator last month, however, its goal of reaching 500 million userbase is now facing hurdles.

The launch of cheap Android 4G phones will likely improve the subscriber additions of Jio, however, we are again not sure of the exact launch date. Jio might announce the phones at the end of December 2020 and bring them to the market sometime in February 2021 or March 2021.

Should You Opt One Airtel Rs 899 Plan or Choose Individual Services?

Posted: 06 Dec 2020 05:32 PM PST

This post first appeared on TelecomTalk Read more at: https://telecomtalk.info/airtel-rs899-plan-individual-services/315246/, Should You Opt One Airtel Rs 899 Plan or Choose Individual Services?

Bharti Airtel unveiled ‘One Airtel‘ plans a few months ago which bundles the telco’s postpaid, DTH and broadband services into a single package. One Airtel plans start at Rs 899 and they go all the way up to Rs 1,999. Bharti Airtel is heavily marketing these plans across all the 17 cities where they are available at the moment. The One Airtel Rs 899 plan is the most affordable one on the list; It comes with two postpaid connections and a DTH channel pack worth Rs 350 per month. As Airtel says, customers can save a lot with One Airtel plans, compared to choosing them individually. In addition, it removes the hassle for the consumers to track their connections individually. Read ahead to know whether you should choose the One Airtel plan of Rs 899 or get the services separately.

One Airtel Rs 899 Plan: What It Offers?

The One Airtel Rs 899 is an entry-level one, however, it still offers decent benefits required for basic users. For starters, it comes with Airtel’s Rs 499 postpaid plan with 75GB data benefit with rollover up to 200GB, unlimited voice calling to any network within India and 100 SMSes per day for one rental period. Airtel is also providing one free add-on connection with this Rs 899 plan, meaning customers can add one more connection to their postpaid account at no extra cost. Usually, Airtel charges Rs 249 per month from the customers for adding one postpaid connection. The add-on connection shares the data benefit from the primary connection alongside getting unlimited voice calling and 100 SMSes per day benefits individually.

The plan also comes with Rs 350 worth of Airtel DTH channel pack. Airtel says customers can add TV channels till Rs 350 in this plan. Additionally, they can also avail Airtel Xstream Box by paying Rs 1,500 as a security deposit. The NCF of Rs 153 for 200 channels is mandatory for every customer, so customers can add Rs 200 worth channels to make the overall bill of Rs 350 per month.

As you can see, if a customer chooses the same plans individually, the charges would be Rs 499+Rs 249+Rs 350, and there will be taxes of 18% to be added on top. The overall charges without taxes will be Rs 1,098, whereas Airtel is providing the plan for Rs 899 per month (taxes will be added on top).

This is something very interesting from Bharti Airtel and the company recently stated the ‘One Airtel’ plans are getting good reception in the cities where they are currently available. We would suggest the customers go with One Airtel plans, instead of opting the services individually.
