Other key specifications of the Vivo Y20G include 6GB of RAM, 13MP triple camera setup on the back and 5000mAh battery.

The handset has a triple rear camera setup with 13MP primary sensor, 2MP macro sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. The teardrop notch on the front houses an 8MP selfie shooter.

Connectivity options on the Vivo Y20G include 4G LTE, VoWi-Fi, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS and a Micro USB port. The device also has an FM Radio app preinstalled. The phone sips juice from a 5000mAh battery and thankfully there’s 18W charging support.

Vivo Y20G: Pricing and Availability

PhonePe Overtakes Google Pay as Most-Used UPI App in December 2020

Posted: 18 Jan 2021 09:38 PM PST

This post first appeared on TelecomTalk Read more at: https://telecomtalk.info/phonepe-google-pay-upi-app-december/326853/, PhonePe Overtakes Google Pay as Most-Used UPI App in December 2020

Flipkart-owned PhonePe became the leading UPI application in India during December 2020, overtaking the previous leader Google Pay. According to the data released by NPCI, a total of 207 banks are now live on UPI. NPCI said that a whopping 2,234.16 million transactions accounting for 4,16,176.21 crore took place in December. To recall, UPI recorded 2,210.23 million transactions in November and the same is almost the same in December. However, the overall transaction value stood at 3,90,999.15 crore in November. This is not the first time we are seeing PhonePe beating Google Pay in the UPI market, but the road is getting more challenging for the latter. Facebook-owned WhatsApp doubled its UPI transactions volume to 0.81 million with transactions value worth Rs 29.72 crore.

WhatsApp Doubles UPI Transactions Volume

WhatsApp rolled out full-fledged payments service based on Unified Payments Interface (UPI) in November 2020. During the same month, the platform managed to clock just 0.31 million UPI transactions volume and Rs 13.87 crore transactions value. In December 2020, WhatsApp increased the numbers to 0.81 million transactions volume and Rs 29.71 crore value. That said, this is still a below-par performance from WhatsApp considering the massive user base it is having in India.

PhonePe topped the chart in the last month of 2020 with a record 902.02 million transactions volume and a whopping Rs 182,126.88 crore value. Google Pay is second on the chart with 854.49 million transactions worth Rs 176,199.33 crore.

Paytm Payments Bank, Axis Bank and Amazon Pay complete the top five list. Government’s BHIM app is sixth on the list with a mere 24.80 million transactions worth Rs 7,748.29 crore.

Google Pay’s monthly volume growth rate is reduced, whereas the same for PhonePe increased. In recent times, we have seen a lot of consumers complaining about Google Pay and its services. The main highlight of UPI is instant money transfer facility. Several users complained that Google Pay is holding the funds for a while before transferring them to the recipient’s bank account. Thanks to this, PhonePe is gaining new customers and also increasing the UPI transactions volume. In November, PhonePe had 868.40 million transactions, and the number increased to 902.02 million in December.

PhonePe will likely see improvement in overall UPI transactions volume in January 2020. As you can see, Google Pay and PhonePe together have a market share of more than 40%. According to the new NPCI norms, the two UPI apps will have to reduce their share to less than 30% by 2024.

This post first appeared on TelecomTalk Read more at: https://telecomtalk.info/realme-c12-new-variant-launch-india/326847/, Realme C12 Now Comes in a 4GB RAM Model at Rs 9,999

Realme has introduced a new 4GB+64GB variant of the Realme C12 in India. The new variant will compete with Moto E7 Plus, Poco M2 and the Redmi 9 Prime, which are available between Rs 9,000 and Rs 10,000. The Realme C12 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G35 chipset, whereas the Redmi 9 Prime and Poco M2 are powered by MediaTek Helio G80 chipset. The new variant is already available for purchase on Flipkart and Realme India’s official website. Similar to the Realme C12 launched earlier, the new model also comes in Power Blue and Power Silver colours. To recall, the Realme C12 was launched back in August 2020 and it was amongst the first set of phones with Helio G35 chipset onboard.

Realme C12: Specifications and Features

The Realme C12 is a decent budget smartphone, however, it does match Xiaomi and Poco’s offerings in the similar price range. The phone has a 6.5-inch HD+ display with a resolution of 720×1600 pixels and the screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass technology. As mentioned above, Realme has used the MediaTek Helio G35 chipset on the Realme C12, similar to the Realme C15. After the new variant’s launch, the Realme C12 can be purchased in 3GB+32GB and 4GB+64GB models. There’s a dedicated microSD card slot as well for storage expansion up to 256GB.

The USP of the Realme C12 is its 6000mAh battery which charges using the Micro USB port at a maximum of 10W. The handset also supports reverse wireless charging feature. Cameras on the smartphone include a 13MP primary shooter, 2MP macro shooter and a 2MP B/W sensor. To the front, there’s a 5MP snapper. Lastly, the Realme C12 runs Android 10-based Realme UI out of the box.

Realme C12 at Rs 9,999: Should You Purchase It?

Realme did not upgrade any specifications and the new model just bumps up the RAM and storage to 4GB and 64GB. And it is priced Rs 1,000 higher than the base 3GB+32GB model. At Rs 9,999, the Realme C12 does not seem like a great purchase. There’s no doubt the Realme C12 has decent specs on paper. However, at the same Rs 9,999 price, Xiaomi has the Redmi 9 Prime and Redmi 9 Power with much better specs, whereas the Poco M2 packs a whopping 6GB of RAM.

As part of Flipkart’s Big Saving Days, the Poco M2 gets another Rs 500 off for HDFC Debit Card users, whereas the HDFC Credit Card users can avail Rs 1,000 discount. If you are looking for a smartphone under Rs 10,000 for this Republic Day, pick up the Poco M2 or the Redmi 9 Prime. If you want a smartphone with Snapdragon chipset, you can also choose the Redmi 9 Power that packs a beefy 6000mAh battery.

The Internet Service Provider (ISP) which provides Fibre-to-the-Home and DSL services right now has over seven million subscribers. As we have seen in recent months, BSNL is losing existing customers in the wired broadband segment almost every month. To stop losing customers, BSNL came up with aggressively priced broadband plans in October 2020, and the same plans are being extended recently for another 90 days. The most affordable BSNL Broadband plan you can choose in 2021 is priced at Rs 449 with benefits of 30 Mbps speeds and 3.3TB FUP limit. Under the Bharat Fiber branding, BSNL is currently offering aggressive plans in the industry taking on JioFiber’s plans, starting at just Rs 399.

Starting with the Rs 449 plan, it is probably the best broadband plan available right now. Besides the data benefit, BSNL is also offering unlimited local and STD calling to any network via its landline service.

BSNL Broadband 2021: Rs 599 Plan Benefits Detailed

At Rs 599, the BSNL Bharat Fibre Basic Plus is an excellent buy.
