| Samsung Galaxy M02s With 5000mAh Battery Arriving on January 7 Posted: 04 Jan 2021 06:22 AM PST This post first appeared on TelecomTalk Read more at: https://telecomtalk.info/samsung-galaxy-m02s-january-launch/322948/, Samsung Galaxy M02s With 5000mAh Battery Arriving on January 7
We are just four days in 2021 and new smartphone launches are lining up already. Xiaomi is all set to launch the mid-range Mi 10i in India tomorrow, and today, Samsung confirmed that it would be launching the budget Galaxy M02s smartphone in the country. The Galaxy M02s will be arriving as a successor to the Galaxy M01s which has specifications like MediaTek MT6762 processor, 3GB of RAM and a 4000mAh battery. The Galaxy M02s will have a 5000mAh battery and it will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. The addition of the Snapdragon processor will be a welcome change for the consumers as the phone will come for under Rs 10,000. The official launch of the Galaxy M02s is set for January 7. Samsung Galaxy M02s: Expected Specifications and FeaturesSimilar to the Galaxy M01s, the Galaxy M02s will also be priced under Rs 10,000 in the country. Samsung’s official India website has revealed some key specifications of the Galaxy M02s. It will be the first Samsung smartphone under Rs 10,000 to offer 4GB of RAM. Notably, the Galaxy M02s is listed to offer a Snapdragon processor which is an upgrade to the MediaTek MT6762 processor that we saw on the Galaxy M01s. Samsung is teasing the M02s in India with ‘Max Up’ tagline touting the big battery. Furthermore, the Galaxy M02s sports a 6.5-inch HD+ Infinity-V screen with a teardrop notch. The handset will be backed by a 5000mAh battery and offers a triple camera setup on the rear side. The Galaxy M02s will take on the likes of Redmi 9 Prime, Poco M2, Realme C15 and the Micromax In Note 1. The Poco M2 and Redmi 9 Prime offers MediaTek Helio G80 SoC, Full HD+ screen and a 5000mAh battery. The Galaxy M02s is confirmed to feature an HD+ display. The Samsung Galaxy M01s is currently available at Rs 9,899 on Flipkart for the 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage variant. So the Galaxy M02s could launch at around Rs 9,999. Samsung might use the Snapdragon 460 chipset on the Galaxy M02s which would deliver a decent performance in the budget segment. We have already seen the Snapdragon 460 SoC on a few other phones under Rs 10,000 like the Moto E7 Plus and it is a decent performer. The Galaxy M02s is also arriving with a triple camera setup on the back, so that is another upgrade compared to the dual-camera setup we saw on the M01s. |
| Jio, Airtel and Vodafone Idea Prepaid Plans With 56 Days Validity Posted: 04 Jan 2021 04:25 AM PST This post first appeared on TelecomTalk Read more at: https://telecomtalk.info/jio-airtel-vodafone-idea-prepaid-plans-56days/322917/, Jio, Airtel and Vodafone Idea Prepaid Plans With 56 Days Validity
Prepaid plans come with varied validity periods. There are plans which come with a validity of as low as 2 days and as high as 365 days ( or 1-year). Reliance Jio, Airtel, and Vodafone Idea (Vi), the three major telecom operators of the country offer prepaid plans which carry a validity of 56 days. Today, we are focusing on such plans only. These plans come with unique data benefits and different prices; thus, it becomes easy to choose which one is the best amongst the lot. Reliance Jio Prepaid Plans With 56 Days ValidityReliance Jio offers two prepaid plans which carry a validity of 56 days. These plans come for Rs 444 and Rs 399 respectively. The Rs 444 prepaid plan offers 2GB daily data (112GB in total) with unlimited voice calling and 100 SMS/day benefit. While the Rs 399 prepaid plan offers 1.5GB daily data (84GB in total), unlimited voice calling and 100 SMS/day benefit. Do note that both the prepaid plans come with a complimentary subscription of all the Jio apps. Vodafone Idea Prepaid Plans With 56 Days ValidityVi Offers four prepaid plans which come with a validity of 56 days. These plans cost Rs 269, Rs 399, Rs 449, and Rs 595 respectively. Starting with the cheapest amongst the four, the Rs 269 plan ships with a total of 4GB data only. While the Rs 399 plan offers 1.5GB daily data (84GB in total), Rs 449 plan offers 4GB daily data (224GB in total because of the 'Double Data Offer'), and Rs 595 plan offers 2GB daily data (112GB in total). All of these plans come with unlimited voice calling benefit and an over-the-top (OTT) benefit of 'Vi Movies & TV'. The Rs 269 plan offers 600 SMS to the users while all the other three plans come with 100 SMS/day benefit. Adding to this, the Rs 399, Rs 449, and Rs 595 plan also ship with 'Weekend Data Rollover' offer. There is a free ZEE5 Premium subscription for one year included with the Rs 595 plan. Airtel Prepaid Plans With 56 Days ValidityAirtel also offers users four different prepaid plans which carry a validity of 56 days. These plans are of Rs 399, Rs 449, Rs 558, and Rs 599 respectively. The Rs 399 plan ships with 1.5GB daily data (84GB in total), Rs 449 plan offers 2GB daily data (112GB in total), Rs 558 plan offers 3GB daily data (168GB in total), and Rs 599 plan offers 2GB daily data (112GB in total). All of the aforementioned prepaid plans from Airtel offer unlimited voice calling and 100 SMS/day, Airtel Xstream Premium, and other Airtel Thanks benefits. Many of you might wonder how the Rs 599 plan offers lesser data than the Rs 558 plan. The reason is a free OTT benefit of Disney+ Hotstar VIP included in the Rs 599 plan. So out of all the prepaid plans mentioned above with 56 days validity, the best one has to be either the Rs 595 plan (Vi) or the Rs 599 plan (Airtel). Both these plans offer 2GB daily data along with unique OTT benefits. But then solely based on data and voice calling benefit, there is no competition to the Rs 449 plan from Vi which offers 4GB daily data under double data offer along with unlimited voice calling and 100 SMS/day to the users. This plan also gets the 'Weekend Data Rollover' offer which is the icing on the cake. |
| Hathway Revamped Broadband Plans Offer Unlimited Data Posted: 04 Jan 2021 02:54 AM PST This post first appeared on TelecomTalk Read more at: https://telecomtalk.info/hathway-revamped-broadband-plans-unlimited-data/322894/, Hathway Revamped Broadband Plans Offer Unlimited Data
Hathway is now offering unlimited data to the users living in select cities. A couple of days back, we reported that Hathway Broadband has revamped its plans and is offering a free Android TV Box in select cities with its 150 Mbps plan. But along with the Android TV Box, Hathway has also upgraded its plans to offer users unlimited data. This is applicable on both 100 Mbps, 150 Mbps and even lesser speed broadband plans in select cities from the internet service provider (ISP). For the unaware, until now Hathway provided users with a maximum of 1,200GB or 1.2TB data with its 150 Mbps and more plans, but that limit is gone now — more details on the story ahead. Hathway Broadband Plans Which Offer Unlimited DataFirst of all, it is worth noting that the term 'unlimited data' from Hathway means 4,000GB or 4TB data. It is certainly more than what JioFiber, Airtel Xstream Fiber, and Tata Sky offer with its unlimited plans. Hathway is offering broadband plans with unlimited data in select cities only. In Bangalore, the ISP is offering unlimited data with each of its 100 Mbps and 150 Mbps plans. Following are the cities where the ISP is offering unlimited broadband plans to the users in addition to Bangalore: Aurangabad, Baroda, Chennai, Hyderabad, Indore, Mumbai, Surat, Thane, and Vadodara. So in total, the company is offering unlimited broadband plans in 10 cities of India. Adding to which, in some cities, there are only one or two plans with unlimited data, and the rest of the plans come with limited Fair Usage Policy (FUP) data. Also, some of the high-speed unlimited data plans are not available for less than 3 months. Free Android TV Box With Select Broadband PlansWith unlimited data, Hathway is also offering a free Android TV Box to the users on the purchase of select long-term plans in select cities. The name of the Android TV Box by Hathway is 'Ultra Smart Hub', and it is priced at Rs 2,999. But now users can get it for no extra cost on purchase of select broadband plans in Hyderabad and Chennai. In Chennai, the company now offers three plans only with 150 Mbps, 200 Mbps, and 300 Mbps speeds. Then in Hyderabad, the ISP now offers only four plans, and the 150 Mbps plan is the highest-speed plan offered in the city, which costs the same as in Chennai. Either of these plans purchased for long-term will bring the user a free Android TV Box from Hathway. |

| OnePlus Band With Fitness Features to Launch Soon in India Posted: 03 Jan 2021 11:45 PM PST This post first appeared on TelecomTalk Read more at: https://telecomtalk.info/oneplus-band-fitness-features-launch-soon-india/322886/, OnePlus Band With Fitness Features to Launch Soon in India
OnePlus, one of the largest and most loved Chinese smartphone brands in India, is ready to launch its first-ever fitness band. The company has teased the same via its Twitter account. OnePlus has teased about the fitness band saying 'The New Face of Fitness Coming Soon' through a micro-website for the product. This is the first time the company has acknowledged the product officially. But the rumours of it launching in India have been surfacing for a few days now — more details on the story ahead. OnePlus Band Specifications (Expected)The launch of OnePlus Band in India was initially tipped by Mukul Sharma on his Twitter account. He had shared the possible images of OnePlus Band and some expected specifications in a video. The body of the OnePlus Band is expected to be very much similar to that of Mi Bands. There might be an elongated coloured screen on the OnePlus Band which is expected to be a 1.1-inch AMOLED display. Further, it might come with IP68 and 5ATM certification making it water-resistant.
The OnePlus logo is expected to be at the bottom of the screen. The fitness band is rumoured to offer 14 days of battery life to the users and multiple sports modes including Outdoor Run, Cycling, Yoga, Cricket, Swimming Pool, and more. The OnePlus Band might feature the blood oxygen sensor as well. OnePlus Band Price (Expected)The company hasn't hinted at any price for its first-ever fitness band until now. But as per a report shared by Android Central, it might be priced at $40 or Rs 2,900 approximately in India. But we expect the price to be a slightly more aggressive than this to compete with the already established Mi Band in the Indian market. Further, the images shared by Mukul Sharma suggest that the OnePlus Band might come in three different strap options, namely orange, blue, and black. OnePlus hasn't revealed any information about the band’s specs so nothing can be confirmed as of now. Thus, all of the above-mentioned details are nothing but speculations. For now, OnePlus has revealed a micro-website for users so that they can go there and register themselves for getting the notification upon the launch of the product. The company is allowing users to answer a simple question related to fitness and win the new product every day. More details about the OnePlus Fitness Band are expected to be revealed soon by the company. |
| Reliance Industries Limited Says Rivals Instigated Act of Vandalism Against Jio Posted: 03 Jan 2021 10:46 PM PST This post first appeared on TelecomTalk Read more at: https://telecomtalk.info/reliance-industries-limited-rivals-act-vandalism-jio/322876/, Reliance Industries Limited Says Rivals Instigated Act of Vandalism Against Jio
In a petition filed with the Punjab and Haryana High Court today, Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has asked for an immediate intervention of the government authorities in the illegal acts carried out by the miscreants in the respective states. RIL has said that such acts of vandalism have damaged the company's properties and endangered its employees’ lives. The Mukesh Ambani led company has credited its rivals for instigating such harmful acts towards Jio's properties. The company didn't name the rivals specifically, but it is not a hard guess that it is talking about Airtel and Vodafone Idea (Vi) — more on the story ahead. Jio has Only Helped Farmers so Far, Doesn't Have Any Intention to Benefit from Farm LawsRIL submitted multiple irrefutable facts to the High Court, which showed the company doesn't stand or seek to benefit from the new farm laws in any way. Reliance Retail Limited (RRL), Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL), or any other RIL subsidiary has not done any 'contract' or 'corporate' farming in the past and doesn't have any plans of entering it in the future. Further, the company doesn't own or has any plans of owning a piece/pieces of land directly or indirectly in Punjab and Haryana on which it can carry out contract farming. The company's retail arm, Reliance Retail, is not vested in farming activities in any capacity. It is merely a retail seller which sells multiple ranges and types of products. The retail subsidiary has never entered into a long-term contract with farmers to gain an unfair procurement advantage. RIL also said that it has never tried to procure farm produce at less than the Minimum Support Price (MSP) and advises its suppliers to do the same. The company said that it has helped Indian farmers a lot instead of hurting them. Reliance Retail has built a country-wide distribution chain, and with the economies of scale, it has helped farmers sell their produce easily and conveniently. Adding to that, Reliance Jio has helped bring low-cost 4G connectivity in the country’s rural areas so that the benefits of the Digital Revolution can be extended with the farmers and other people living there. The company has approximately 140 lakh customers in Punjab and 94 lakh customers in Haryana. All of these customers, along with millions more living across the country in rural areas, have benefitted from the low-cost 4G connectivity during the pandemic. It helped them stay connected with the world at a time when people required each other the most. |
| OnePlus Nord to Get First Android 11 Open Beta Update This Week Posted: 03 Jan 2021 09:48 PM PST This post first appeared on TelecomTalk Read more at: https://telecomtalk.info/oneplus-nord-open-beta-oxygenos-11/322867/, OnePlus Nord to Get First Android 11 Open Beta Update This Week
OnePlus confirmed the popular Nord smartphone would receive its first Android 11 Open Beta OxygenOS 11 update this week. On Saturday, OnePlus confirmed this news via its Forums, saying the OnePlus 7 and 7T series will pick up the update soon after. The OnePlus Nord was released earlier this year in August with Android 10-based OxygenOS 10 out of the box. And Android 11 will be its first major upgrade. A couple of weeks ago, OnePlus said the Android 11-based OxygenOS 11 update for OnePlus 7 and 7T series is delayed because of a data decryption issue. Otherwise, the 2019 OnePlus phones would have received the Android 11 update by the end of 2020. OnePlus Nord Android 11 Update: What to Expect?OnePlus confirmed that it would be seeding the OxygenOS 11 update based on Android 11 to the OnePlus Nord. OxygenOS 11 brings a lot of new changes to the table like redesigned user interface, new system animations, a new interface for all the stock apps, and the company made the UI look similar to Samsung’s OneUI. Already, OnePlus pushed the OxygenOS 11 update to OnePlus 8 & 8 Pro smartphones, whereas the OnePlus 8T arrived with OxygenOS 11 out of the box. Next week, OnePlus Nord will receive its first OxygenOS 11 Open Beta build. As for the stable release, OnePlus said it will collect user feedback from the Open Beta, tune the software build accordingly until it meets the standards set by the company. Later, OnePlus will conduct stable rollout of Android 11 to the Nord in a staged manner. The Chinese company also confirmed it worked closely with Qualcomm to resolve the data decryption issue it faced with the OnePlus 7 & 7T series. The company is currently running a Closed Beta test for the 2019 smartphones and it is expecting to release the first OxygenOS Open Beta for the OnePlus 7 & 7T series shortly. For users owning OnePlus 6/6T and Nord 10 5G/100, OnePlus said it would post updates in the future. Do make a note that the OnePlus Nord N10 5G and the Nord N100 will get only one major platform update, so the Android 11 will be the last update for both the phones. That said, there’s such news for the OnePlus Nord. Since the Nord uses Snapdragon 765G SoC, we can expect the company to release at least two Android updates- the Android 11 and Android 12 in early 2022. The OnePlus 7T users are eagerly waiting for the OxygenOS 11 update to arrive on their smartphone. Hopefully, OnePlus releases the update very soon to all the existing phones. |

| BSNL Rs 399 Postpaid Plan Offers 70GB Data per Month Almost On-par With Jio Posted: 03 Jan 2021 05:44 PM PST This post first appeared on TelecomTalk Read more at: https://telecomtalk.info/bsnl-rs399-postpaid-plan-data/322847/, BSNL Rs 399 Postpaid Plan Offers 70GB Data per Month Almost On-par With Jio
BSNL revised its postpaid plans last month by adding affordable options to the portfolio such as Rs 199, Rs 798 and Rs 999. Simultaneously, the state-run telco revised the existing Rs 399 and Rs 525 postpaid plans. The Rs 399 postpaid plan of BSNL which is also known as Ghar Wapsi plan offers 70GB of data benefit along with up to 210GB of data rollover facility. This is almost on-par with what Reliance Jio’s Rs 399 postpaid plan is also offering at the moment. Jio is also allowing users to carry forward data up to 200GB after which it lapses. However, Jio still wins the race because it is also offering OTT subscriptions with all the postpaid plans, whereas BSNL is not offering any such benefits. The Rs 525 postpaid plan from BSNL is shipping with 85GB data benefit per month with rollover up to 255GB. BSNL Rs 399 and Rs 525 Postpaid Plans: What They Offer Now?The new postpaid plans from BSNL start at Rs 199 similar to those of Reliance Jio. There’s no doubt that BSNL is going against the Mukesh Ambani-owned telco with these new plans. The Rs 399 Ghar Wapsi postpaid plan from BSNL offers 70GB data per month with rollover up to 210GB, unlimited voice calling to any network within India and 100 SMSes per day. Sadly, this plan does not come with family add-on connections. Moving on, we have the Rs 525 postpaid plan from BSNL that takes on Reliance Jio’s Rs 599 plan. The Rs 525 plan offers 85GB data per month with rollover up to 255GB, unlimited voice calling to any network and 100 SMSes per day. On top of that, BSNL is also providing one free add-on with unlimited voice calling with the Rs 525 plan, however, there won’t be any data benefit. For the unaware, BSNL is now offering both voice calling and data add-on connections with its postpaid plans. In contrast, the Rs 399 Jio Postpaid Plus plan also comes with 75GB data benefit, unlimited voice calling, 100 SMSes per day and no add-on connections. Besides, the Rs 399 plan comes with Netflix Mobile plan worth Rs 199, Amazon Prime subscription worth Rs 999 and Disney+ Hotstar VIP subscription for one year worth Rs 399. The Rs 599 Jio Postpaid Plus plan also ships with 100GB data per day with up to 200GB rollover facility; Rest of the benefits are also on-par with the Rs 399 Jio Postpaid Plus plan. Despite offering similar data benefit as the Jio Postpaid Plus plans, BSNL’s postpaid plans fall short, especially in the OTT subscriptions side. |
