Ribbon Communications Expects More Orders from Airtel for 5GIn August, the company in a release said that its Neptune platform offers a "powerful, efficient multi-layer next-generation network solution for a seamless evolution to future 5G services." Further, it was said that Airtel picked the Neptune platform as part of its strategy to make its network ready for a "seamless transition to emerging technologies such as 5G." "We are benefiting from our Bharti Airtel contract signed last summer, with multiple purchase orders in the quarter and more expected as they prepare their network for 5G," McClelland said in the earnings call on Wednesday. "This is our multiyear contracts and will help propel our growth in 2021 and beyond." Airtel, the second largest telecom operator in India in late January said that its network is 5G ready as it "successfully" demonstrated and orchestrated live 5G service over a commercial network in Hyderabad. However, the operator highlighted that the 5G experience will be offered to its users only "when adequate spectrum is available and government approvals" are received. Vodafone Idea Utilized Neptune Platform for 4G Rollouts Across IndiaMeanwhile, McClelland said that Vodafone Idea initially utilized its Neptune platform for its 4G rollouts across India as the operator shifts away from Huawei products. "And we expect more business as part of this transition," McClelland said. The CEO of Ribbon Communications also said that the overall sales of the company in India in its fourth quarter were "very consistent with the previous quarter." McClelland said that the company recorded "improvements in several accounts" with Ribbon Communications also "hopeful that momentum will pick up for the second half of 2021." Further, McClelland said that the company is hoping to see the spending of the wireless operators similar to those of the 2019 levels post April 1, 2021. "Overall, at the end of the year, kind of year to date, at the end of 2020, I think our business in India was down something like 44% versus 2019," McClelland said. "So, there’s plenty of room for recovery, even getting partially back to where we were in 2019 and that is certainly part of the expectation as we grow this year. That’s certainly part of the story." |

The 'Messenger Room' feature was rolled out for WhatsApp just a few months back. It allows WhatsApp users to carry out a group video call with up to 50 people, which the normal video calling feature of WhatsApp doesn't. 'Messenger Rooms' is a feature from Facebook, which is integrated within WhatsApp itself. If you want to know how you can create a Messenger Room through WhatsApp, keep reading ahead. Steps for Creating a 'Messenger Room' Through WhatsAppDo note that you can create a 'Messenger Room' from WhatsApp's mobile application, desktop, as well as a web application. The steps are the same for every kind of version (mobile, desktop, or web) that you are using of WhatsApp. Firstly, open the application on your preferred device, then go to the individual chat you want to select for video call. After that, find the attachments icon on the screen and tap on it. Then find the 'Rooms' option, tap on it, and then further tap on the 'Continue in Messenger' option. The app will provide you with a link that you can send to your contacts. Others can join the same room by simply clicking on the link you have provided them with. You can also make room for your WhatsApp group directly by clicking on the 'Create Room' option for your group chat. But the 'Messenger Room' feature will only work for groups that have more than five members. Messenger Rooms FeaturesOne thing you should know about Messenger Rooms is that it is not end-to-end encrypted like WhatsApp. Including you, up to 50 other people can join the room for a video conference call, and there are also filters that you can put up to enhance how you are looking at the call. Users don't even have to create an account for joining the Room. In addition to that, there are no time limits like you get on Zoom. The creator of the Room has the authority to manage the guest list. The feature is likely to arrive for Instagram soon as well. |

Just a month after its launch, the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G will be down its lowest ever price of Rs 81,999. Amazon India will be hosting the ‘Fab Phones Fest’ sale between February 22 and February 25, during which the Samsung flagship device can be picked with a discount of Rs 24,000. Samsung launched the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G at the end of January 2021 with a starting price of Rs 1,05,999. The price of Rs 81,999 is for the base model with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. The S21 Ultra 5G is the best flagship smartphone available in the industry right now and such a massive discount in just one month will irk the early buyers of the device. The price drop seems to be just Amazon exclusive as Samsung Shop Online is selling the device at the launch prices only. Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G Gets a Massive Discount of Rs 24,000As noted, the price drop on the Galaxy S12 Ultra 5G will be for a limited period. As of this writing, the discounted price is yet to come into effect. However, Amazon India has confirmed the price will become effective once the Fab Phones Fest kickstarts. Amazon did not reveal the price of the 16GB RAM variant of the S21 Ultra 5G. The launch prices of the S21 Ultra 5G are Rs 1,05,999 for the 12GB+256GB model and Rs 1,16,999 for the 16GB+512GB variant. We are expecting the premium model of the smartphone to get some sort of discount. At Rs 81,999, the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G will be an excellent buy. In fact, it will be a better buy than the Apple iPhone 12 that’s available at Rs 79,999.
Talking about the smartphone’s specifications, it rocks a 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED display with WQHD+ resolution, in-display fingerprint scanner and a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, we get the Exynos 2100 SoC with 12GB/16GB of RAM and 256GB/512GB of storage. As the name of the smartphone itself suggests, the S21 Ultra has 5G support. The USP of the smartphone is the camera setup on the back. A primary 108MP lens is paired with a 10MP optical telephoto lens, 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens and another 10MP optical super-telephoto lens. The phone also has a 40MP selfie shooter. This Android 11 laden device is backed by a 5000mAh battery with 25W fast charging support. |

Bharti Airtel is slowly gaining on Reliance Jio and threatening its position as the number one telecom operator of the country. The telco has done so by offering excellent propositions to its customers. Bharti Airtel offers a variety of prepaid plans with a ton of benefits. Today, we are focusing on the prepaid plans of the telco that offer 3GB daily data. Well, there are only three such unlimited plans on offer at the moment; let's take a look at them. Bharti Airtel 3GB Daily Data PlansThe cheapest unlimited plan from Airtel that offers 3GB daily data comes for Rs 398. It carries a validity of 28 days only and comes with the benefit of unlimited voice calling and 100 SMS/day. The second plan from Airtel that comes with 3GB daily data is of Rs 448. Even this plan comes with a validity of 28 days. The difference between this plan and the Rs 398 plan is the added benefit of Disney+ Hotstar VIP for one year. There is unlimited voice calling and 100 SMS/day included with this plan as well. Then lastly, the Rs 558 plan from Airtel offers 3GB daily data with unlimited voice calling and 100 SMS/day. This plan comes with a longer validity of 56 days. Unfortunately, there is no plan from Airtel that offers 3GB daily data and comes with the validity of 84 days like the one from Jio (Rs 999 plan). This is a huge letdown as potential customers are looking for heavy data plans with better validity. For such users, Reliance Jio fits the bill with its Rs 999 prepaid recharge. All the plans include Airtel Thanks benefits such as a free subscription of Airtel Xstream Premium, Wynk Music, free Hellotunes, 1-year free courses with Shaw Academy, and Rs 100 cashback on a FASTag transaction. Users can also benefit from the Amazon Prime Video Mobile Edition free trial, which only Airtel is offering to the users in India. The offer was announced just a few weeks back, and the free trial expires after 30 days of signing up. |
