Broadband Internet Can Be Very Easily Boosted By Doing This Posted: 09 Sep 2021 09:09 AM PDT In recent years, many users have installed broadband internet in their homes as there is an increase in video consumption and many are also working from home. But it’s not all good with broadband, users also face speed issues with their broadband internet connection. Since it is important to have a reliable connection offering high-speed internet for FHD and 4K video streaming, online gaming and more, here is an interesting guide for you. Boost Your Broadband Internet ConnectionFirstly, you need to check your router and upgrade it to a new one. These days, there are many advanced routers that provide easy configurations and additional data throughput. Once your router is upgraded, you need to keep a check on the direction of the antenna of your router. Make sure the antenna of the Wi-Fi router is to your gaming device's antenna. You can keep one antenna vertical and another one parallel to deliver the desired output for your gaming, download and video experience. The other thing that you need to do for an improved broadband internet connection is to evaluate the strength of your Wi-Fi network. Notably, you can do it via any of the apps that are available on the Google Play Store or Apple App Store based on the phone you are using. With these apps, you can find out the dead zones that miss out on Wi-Fi connectivity in your house. This way, your entire house will be connected to the internet. If you have several devices connected to the Wi-Fi router, then you can disconnect some of them that are not in use from the network, especially during online gaming and heavy streaming. This way, there will be ample bandwidth for the purpose alone. Occasionally, there will be interference with the Wi-Fi network. In that case, you need to make sure the network is connected correctly. If not, then there will be patchy or bad connectivity. Make sure your router is positioned such that there is no interference caused in the network. Besides these, the simplest way to fix Wi-Fi issues is to first restart the router and it works well in most scenarios. The network has to be refreshed on a timely basis to make sure it is reliable. Lastly, you need to connect to the right channel as the modern-day routers give multiple channels for users to connect to. The right one based on your distance from the router will assure better connectivity. Usually, the 5 GHz channel is better when you are close to the router and the 2.4 GHz channel is suggested while you are at a relatively farther distance.

Xiaomi Mi 11T Series to Get Four Years Of OS Updates Posted: 09 Sep 2021 06:55 AM PDT Xiaomi just announced that the Mi 11T and Mi 11T Pro smartphones are all set to get three generations of Android OS updates. This adds to the support for four years of security updates offered to these phones. Furthermore, the Chinese tech giant shared this information on its official blog post on its website today. Xiaomi Mi 11T OS UpdatesXiaomi is gearing up to launch its next-generation flagship model – the Mi 11T series on September 15. In addition to offering four years of updates to these upcoming Xiaomi smartphones, the company is also planning to bring support for extended Android OS updates and security updates to its previous offerings that exist in the market. Notably, it is unlikely that Xiaomi might include the budget devices for this extended software support. Even its flagship phones such as the Mi 11 Pro and Mi 11 Ultra are likely to be eligible to get the extended update cycle. The company's head of product and technology, Albert Shan, stated that it is not simple for Xiaomi as well as its team to offer system updates and security patches to all earlier models in its portfolio. The prospect of this challenge is to meet the desires of the customers. Currently, the South Korean tech giant Samsung is the sole Android device manufacturer to provide four years of security updates as well as three years of OS updates to its offerings. Previously, OnePlus had assured to provide the same but it is limited only to its premium and flagship models.Xiaomi Mi 11T Series: What To Expect? When it comes to the rumours that are making on the internet, the smartphone is expected to arrive with a 120Hz display that will be ideal for gaming and watching multimedia content, a 64MP primary camera sensor at the rear accompanied by a telemacro sensor and an ultra-wide sensor and a capable MediaTek processor. Given that the flagship smartphones will see the light of the day on September 15, we will get to know more details soon. Until then, we can expect some more clarity from the company or tipsters.
OnePlus Might Take on Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo in Affordable Category Smartphones Posted: 09 Sep 2021 05:34 AM PDT Since the past few months, OnePlus and Oppo are hitting the tech headlines quite often as the brands have merged and a lot of changes were expected. Already, OnePlus has started using the custom skin ColorOS for its devices. Now, fresh reports hint that the company, which was known for its affordable yet premium flagship smartphones might enter the budget price category in India. Affordable OnePlus Smartphones Likely On CardsAs per the well-known tipster Yogesh Brar, OnePlus is claimed to be working on smartphones that could be priced under Rs 20,000. The launch of these devices could not be farfetched. The affordable OnePlus smartphones are expected to see the light of the day sometime in Q4 2021 or Q2 2022. Having said that, we can expect these smartphones to arrive under the Nord branding. Already, OnePlus sells budget smartphones in select regions. However, this will be the first time in India that the company will bring such affordable devices. Notably, OnePlus has been leading the country's premium smartphone market space for quite some time. In its initial years, OnePlus failed to launch a successful affordable smartphone and it refrained from taking this move again.Competition In Affordable MarketThe Indian market is one of the fast-growing markets for smartphone brands. While there are devices across price points, the budget category is more competitive than others in the country. Moreover, this segment is already dominated by brands such as Redmi, Realme, and Samsung. Trailing behind are brands such as Tecno, Infinix and many others. The existing budget smartphones bundle great hardware, capable performance and affordable pricing. One of the major issues with this segment is the software and this is a common problem faced by users of all smartphone brands, except for Samsung as it is doing fine. Currently, it remains to be seen what the upcoming budget smartphones from OnePlus will have to roll out for their users in India. However, we can expect these devices to compete against the likes of other affordable smartphones from various brands as mentioned above. Given that this is speculation, we need to wait for OnePlus to confirm something officially regarding the sub-Rs 20,000 priced smartphones that could be launched in the near future.
Airtel Business Says Omnichannel Experience to Win In 5G Era Posted: 09 Sep 2021 04:16 AM PDT Airtel Business is the B2B unit of Bharti Airtel. On September 9, 2021, Airtel Business released a new edition of the Insights Report under the aegis of its Customer Advisory Board (CAB). For the unaware, the Airtel Business CAB is built of various business leaders from around the country's top companies and organisations. In its new report, Airtel Business said that brands who embrace digital technologies ahead of the curve for delivering an omnichannel experience to their customers would win the 5G era. 5G and Rise In Automation to Help a LotAs per the report, four key themes will help the retail segment in the era of 5G. These are – a) Borderless Commerce, b) Rise of Automation, c) Mass Personalisation, and d) Delivering Value and Experience. Airtel Business said that retailers must understand and deliver a personalised experience to their customers. This can be done with the help of 5G. Now more than ever, people are sharing their data with businesses, both online and offline. With the help of 5G, automation can be ensured since ultra-low-latency and high-bandwidth networks will be available for the Internet of Things (IoT). Even the role of augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) will rise with the arrival of 5G, and this will also be a pivotal thing when it comes to helping consumers get the best shopping experience. The report adds 5G will speed up the digital transformation of the retail sector from the supply chain to the in-store experience. 5G networks and personalisation will help offline retailers in getting an edge over their online rivals since the personalisation of services in a physical manner will go a longer way than what a consumer experiences offline. But the 5G networks are still a little far from India, and PAN-India 5G networks are even farther (at least 3 years from now). It will be interesting to see how the market develops with the arrival of 5G.

Starlink Major Issue With Providing Internet In India Posted: 09 Sep 2021 02:13 AM PDT Starlink has one major issue in regards to providing satellite broadband Internet in India. The issue is not of the coverage but of the regulatory approvals. Yes, this has been said before by Elon Musk himself. Musk had said on multiple occasions that providing blanket coverage is not the issue; the issue is to provide services in multiple countries. This is because Starlink will have to comply with the national policies of all the countries it aims to provide services in. Since almost every country has a different set of policy and regulatory frameworks revolving around satellite broadband and satcom companies, Starlink will have to get approvals from each of the nations in a unique manner. This doesn't just make it harder for the company to roll out satellite broadband services fast but also takes more money and energy. Starlink Plans to Enter India in 2022Starlink has plans of entering the Indian market in mid-2022. This is well and fine, but to provide services within the Indian boundaries, Starlink will need to get the necessary permissions and comply with the regulatory norms set by the government of India. The government is still in discussions about the guidelines for the satcom industry. The guidelines will be out soon, and they should echo some of the requests made by the Satcom Industry Association (SIA-India). Satellite broadband will play a crucial role in providing internet connectivity in the remote and rural regions of the country where the presence of terrestrial networks is not a profitable business for the telecom companies. Thus, the government should keep in mind that companies such as Starlink, along with its competitors, including OneWeb, Project Juniper from Amazon, and more are important for the future of the country. Starlink will provide services in the commercial segment directly to customers, while OneWeb has said that it will partner with the telcos to help them extend the reach of their networks.
Reliance Jio Has Removed Two Affordable JioPhone Plans Posted: 09 Sep 2021 12:19 AM PDT Reliance Jio, the number one telecom operator of India, has removed two very affordable prepaid plans from its offerings. The changes are already visible on the website, and this move can be a calibrated approach from the company towards the JioPhone Next launch. Jio has stopped offering two JioPhone plans to its customers. The plans which have been removed are Rs 39 and Rs 69 plans. Both the plans fall under the super affordable category and have been discontinued on a PAN-India basis. On top of this, Reliance Jio has also discontinued the 'Buy 1 Get 1 Free' offer from its multiple plans, which the telco had introduced a few months back to help people get through the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. Reliance Jio Rs 39, Rs 69 Plans Won't Be Available AnymoreThe Rs 39 plan from Reliance Jio used to come with 100MB of daily data for 14 days along with 100 SMS and unlimited voice calling to any network within India. At the same time, Reliance Jio's Rs 69 plan used to come with 0.5GB of daily data and unlimited voice calling with 100 SMS for 14 days as well. Neither of the above-mentioned plans is available for the customers of the telco on its website or the mobile application anymore. Reliance Jio might have discontinued these two JioPhone plans because it is launching the new JioPhone Next tomorrow. Note that Jio has also discontinued the Buy 1 Get 1 free offer from its multiple JioPhone plans. This benefit is used to queue an extra recharge for the customers for free when they paid for one recharge. This offer was rolled out by the company to help people who didn't have a lot of money during the pandemic and weren't able to go out and earn as well because of the pandemics. It will be interesting to see if the JioPhone Next comes with a special set of prepaid plans as well.
Reliance Jio-bp With BluSmart to Set Up EV Charging Infrastructure In India Posted: 08 Sep 2021 11:56 PM PDT Reliance Jio-bp, the fuels and mobility joint venture between Reliance Industries Limited and bp, announced a partnership with BluSmart, India’s first and largest all-electric ride-hailing platform, to set up a network of commercial large scale EV (electric vehicle) charging stations. As part of the partnership, Jio-bp will set up these stations for passenger electric vehicles and fleets across the country. BluSmart, through its all-electric fleet, has been disrupting the mobility landscape by providing reliable, zero-surge and zero-tailpipe emission ride-hailing service in Delhi NCR. Running the largest fleet of EVs, BluSmart aims to expand its network into other major cities across India. Jio-bp And BluSmart Each EV Charging Station Will Charge Minimum of 30 VehiclesThrough this partnership, both companies will collaborate in planning, development and operation of EV charging infrastructure at suitable locations across cities where BluSmart operates. With the first phase-roll out in the National Capital Region, these EV charging stations will be capable of accommodating a minimum of 30 vehicles at each station and will be concentrated in urban areas. Harish C Mehta, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Jio-bp, said, "Jio-bp will be at the forefront of EV infrastructure development in the country". Anmol Jaggi, Co-founder and CEO, BluSmart, said, "EV Superhubs are the future of EV charging as it provides seamless charging access to consumers and ride-hailing fleets, and we will be jointly building some of the largest EV Superhubs in the world."
BSNL Offers Perfect 30 Days 4G Plan Posted: 08 Sep 2021 11:35 PM PDT Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has the perfect 30 days 4G prepaid plan in its arsenal. The state-run telco offers better-prepaid plans than Jio and Airtel in multiple regards, but just because of the absence of 4G networks, it is multiple years behind them. Many users want a complete validity of one month, two months, or three months from their prepaid plans instead of getting 28 days, 56 days, and 84 days from the operators. BSNL recently introduced a 30 days prepaid plan, and it comes with bulk data benefit. This means that the users won't be restricted by a daily data limit. Let's check out the price and the benefits of this plan from BSNL. BSNL 30 Days Plan That Offers 50GB of 4G DataBSNL offers a 4G prepaid plan for Rs 247, and it is called "STV_247". This plan comes with a validity of 30 days and offers users 50GB of bulk data along with unlimited voice calling and 100 SMS/day. Note that the 50GB data offered with the plan can be used by the user either in one go or across 50 days. The plan further offers users additional benefits of BSNL Tunes and Eros Now Entertainment Services. Note that after consuming the 50GB of high-speed data offered by the plan, the internet speed for the user will drop to 80 Kbps. This is a good plan for users looking to consume data without any daily limits and also want a complete validity of 30 days. 50GB data with a 30 days plan means users get more than 1.5GB daily data if he/she were to use it evenly across the validity of the plan. Even after consuming the data, users can recharge with a 4G data voucher if they need extra data. The voice calling and SMS benefits will remain for 30 days. All the unused data with the plan will be expired on the day its validity ends.
Vodafone Idea, Airtel See a Slight Jump In Stock Price Posted: 08 Sep 2021 11:13 PM PDT Vodafone Idea (Vi), Bharti Airtel, and Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) stocks went down yesterday at the closing time despite performing well in the morning session. But on Thursday, at the time of writing, both the stocks are trading in the green. Vodafone Idea's current stock price is Rs 8.15, which is 1.24% high, while Bharti Airtel is trading at Rs 675, which is 1.07% in the green. It is worth noting that both the indexes, including NIFTY and SENSEX, are in the red. Thus, watching telecom stocks do well is a positive for the sector. Why Are Vodafone Idea, Airtel Stocks Going Up?Frankly, it is hard to say at the moment. There haven't been any major announcements in the favour of the telcos, and neither have the telcos indicated they are about to do something. The general expectation from the telecom stocks for Thursday was negative because of what happened on Wednesday. For the unaware, on Wednesday, the cabinet refused to hear the proposal from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), which meant the telecom sector wasn't going to get its relief package announced after all. This led to investors worrying and pulling their money out of the telcos. It was particularly a major blow for Vodafone Idea, which anticipated an immediate relief from dues payments. Had the cabinet heard the proposal from the DoT, the stock price of the telcos might have gone even further up! The reason behind the refusal to hear DoT's proposal is not clear. Over the long-term, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea's stocks can do much better if the government can introduce the relief package as soon as possible. The more time it will take for the government to come out with the relief package, the more it is going to hurt Vodafone Idea. Further, Vi might be able to get some new investors on board if it can get the relief measures from the government.
Android 13 Might be Dropped, Android 12.1 To Come Next Posted: 08 Sep 2021 10:25 PM PDT The software giant Google just rolled out the final beta version of its latest iteration of mobile OS – Android 12. It is believed that the company will soon roll out the stable version of the operating system. So soon, there are claims regarding the next big iteration of the OS. While the Android 12 stable version is awaited, it is said that the next iteration will be a minor update. As per XDA Developers, the next iteration of the OS expected to see the light of the day in the coming months will be the Android 12.1. It notes that the new update should be rolled out soon to the Pixel 6 series smartphones. Notably, Google stopped releasing Android operating system versions with minor updates a few years back. These are called point updates and the last such point update was with the rollout of Android 8.1 Oreo. Since then, the company did not bring point updates but only major Android versions every year. Next Android Version DetailsGoing by the report, developers are advised by Google to update their apps for API level 31, which is the framework API delivered by Android 12. For Android 11, the API level is 30 while the processor was 29. This makes it clear that the API level bumped with each version of Android OS. Fresh evidence spotted within AOSP Gerrit suggests that the API level 32 is related to Android 12 sc-v2 and not Android 13 T. Moreover, in a code change, a Google developer changed the API level hinting that a new NDK API will be 33 and not 32. To put these technicalities in simple terms, it looks like Google will release an interim update that lies between Android 12 and Android 13. This version will be called the Android 12.1 point release. Also, there is a possibility that the new API level will not be accompanied by a new version number.Android 12 UpdateFor those awaiting the Android 12 update, it is a major update with a revamped UI. Only the Google Pixel smartphones will be able to experience the complete redesign. The major highlights of the version are the support for a theming system, quick settings menu, a redesigned lock screen, new animations, a new widget system, new privacy settings and more.

The company is going to launch new products at the event. Looking at the past, there's a high chance that this event is for the new iPhone 13 series. Apple might also launch the Apple Watch 7 series. Now, just a few days ahead of the launch, the price of the iPhone 13 series has leaked. The new iPhone 13 series is expected to retain the four smartphones structure as of the iPhone 12 series, so you can expect to see a new iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro, and the iPhone 13 Pro Max. iPhone 13 Price Leaked, Check How Much It Will CostThe iPhone 13 series price has been leaked by GizChina. On top of that, Apple Hub has revealed the specifications of the four smartphones that we might see during launch. Let's take a look at the prices. The iPhone 13 mini which is expected to be the smallest smartphone in the series might launch for $699 (approximately Rs 51,314). Further, the iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, and the iPhone 13 Pro Max might launch for $799 (approximately Rs 58,600), $999 (approximately 73,300), and $1,099 (approximately Rs 80,679). Note that these are the prices for the US market, and the Indian price will be much more expensive because of the added taxes. There's no word on whether Apple will start manufacturing the iPhone 13 series in India in the coming days. All of the new iPhones are expected to be powered by the same A15 Bionic SoC, and we might see a 1TB variant in Apple's iPhone 13 Pro Max models. All the devices in the series are expected to be 5G enabled with support for mmWave bands around the world. There might be a bigger battery with support for 25W fast-charging in the new iPhone 13 series. Fans might just get to see a 120Hz refresh rate display as well. |
Bharti Airtel Should Be Satisfied With Current Market Scenario: Opinion Posted: 08 Sep 2021 06:32 PM PDT Bharti Airtel is not in as good a position as Reliance Jio, but it is not in as bad a position as Vodafone Idea (Vi). It is fair to say that Bharti Airtel is in a position that it won't mind whether the relief package comes or not. Airtel has booked profits in consecutive quarters and has also said that it will be raising capital soon. The company's board has already approved the capital raising plans. There's no doubt that Bharti Airtel will get fresh funding in a much easier manner than the struggling Vodafone Idea. Vi has been struggling to get new investors because even its promoters don't want to infuse any more capital into the company. But given the market scenario right now, Bharti Airtel should be satisfied with where it is now. Yes, there's a lot of room for improvement. Both the regulatory norms and the average revenue per user (ARPU) needs to change, which will then contribute to the growth of the sector. The thing is, Bharti Airtel won't be worried about the relief package as much as Vodafone Idea. Bharti Airtel Will Do Great Regardless of Government SupportIf the government support comes, yes, it will aid Vodafone Idea in a major way, but it will also help Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio. But in case the government doesn't bring a relief package or if the government announces measures that aren't really that helpful, even then Bharti Airtel will do great. But the same can't be said for Vodafone Idea. Vi, without any immediate relief, will succumb to the losses and the debt it has on its books. Airtel has been adding subscribers consistently with just one bleep in the second quarter of CY21 or the first quarter of FY21. Airtel has a strong 4G network throughout the country, and most of all, it has the funds and the resources to pay off its debt and also invest in its networks at the same time. Bharti Airtel won't be worried about what the government is doing, but it will be happy if there are some relief measures. Even with relief measures, Airtel expects to add millions of Vodafone Idea subscribers in the coming months. According to Jefferies, the shift has already started, and Vi will keep on losing subscribers if it can't invest in its networks soon. It will be interesting to see what the government announces in terms of relief for the sector.
