The MacBook Pro 16-inch (with both M1 Pro and M1 Max) comes with up to 140W fast charging. The display of the new MacBook Pro 2021 comes with a notch housing a 1080p camera sensor. Apple has trimmed the bezels, and there is support for the ProMotion display, which means 120Hz refresh rate support for the display. Apple said that the new MacBook Pro 2021 has the best display amongst any laptop in the world.

Vodafone Idea As per the data published by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), Vodafone Idea provided the best average upload speed to the users in September 2021. The third-largest telecom operator has been consistent with providing excellent download and upload speeds to the users. The primary reason behind this could be the lower network load that it enjoys because of the lesser number of customers as compared to Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel. Vodafone Idea offered users an average upload speed of 7.2 Mbps which was more than what Reliance Jio (6.2 Mbps) and Bharti Airtel (4.5 Mbps) provided. However, this is not the only thing that happened in September. According to the report shared by PTI, Reliance Jio took the number one spot ahead of Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea in providing the best downloading speeds to the users.

Reliance Jio, India's number one telecom operator in terms of subscriber market share provided users with the best average download speed of 20.9 Mbps in September 2021. At the same time, Vodafone Idea offered an average downloading speed of 14.4 Mbps followed by Bharti Airtel which delivered 11.9 Mbps. While Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has rolled out 4G networks in some parts of the country, TRAI data didn't figure the telco's performance in the chart. With better downloading speeds, users can download data to their devices much faster. At the same time, with better uploading speeds, users can upload videos and send pictures to their friends/family faster. It is interesting to note that the data shared by Opensignal for the same month signifies that Vodafone Idea delivered the best downloading speed and not Reliance Jio. TRAI Might Reserve 25 MHz of Mid Band Spectrum for Private 5G Networks

TRAI 5G 5G is just around the corner, and the telecom operators are worried about the way the 5G spectrum will be auctioned. The use cases of 5G technology will be way more than 4G, and the airwaves/spectrum will be required by not just the terrestrial network service providers but also by the satcom service providers and the enterprises. The enterprises or non-telecom firms will require airwaves for 5G to allow machine-to-machine communications, office automation and more. The telcos believe that whomsoever requires the airwaves should acquire it through the auction process. It is still being deliberated whether the spectrum should be administratively allocated to the non-telecom firms as well as satcom companies or whether it should be auctioned.

DoT Has Asked TRAI to Determine Which Spectrum Bands to be Used for Private Networks

According to a Financial Express report, the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has sought the views of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) to understand which spectrum band should be utilised for private 5G networks. The publication remarks that TRAI might reserve 25 MHz of spectrum in the 3400 MHz – 3425 MHz band for private 5G networks across the country. This is, of course barring the five locations where the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is using the spectrum as well. The mobile operators don't want TRAI and DoT to give away the spectrum to the private enterprises without the auction route. A telecom industry executive told FE that a level-playing field should be maintained. If the telecom operators have to purchase the spectrum through an auction process, then the private non-telecom companies should be forced to do the same. Further, the regulator is thinking about whether the private non-telecom companies should be given an option to purchase their spectrum directly through the DoT or the telecom operators. The TRAI is still awaited to give a final recommendation on the price of the spectrum.
