BSNL Rs 187 Prepaid Plan Revised to Provide Additional Validity Posted: 17 Nov 2021 11:34 AM PST The State-run telecom operator BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) has revised the Rs 187 prepaid plan. The telecom's Kerala circle handle took to Twitter to reveal the new rate card for its prepaid plans. As per the same, it is clear that the Rs 187 prepaid plan has been revised by the telco. This plan offers unlimited calling benefits alongside other plans priced at Rs 147, Rs 247, Rs 447 and more. Let's check out the new benefits offered by the revised BSNL prepaid plan from here. BSNL Rs 187 Prepaid Plan RevisedThis newly revised Rs 187 prepaid plan comes with a validity of 28 days, which previously offered a lesser validity of 24 days. Furthermore, the plan will offer unlimited voice calling benefits, be it local or STD calls networks. The unlimited voice calls are applicable even to the MTNL network in Delhi and Mumbai circles. Once the data benefit of 2GB per day is exhausted, the subscribers of this BSNL prepaid plan will experience a drop in the data speed to 80 kbps. Apart from this, the BSNL Rs 187 prepaid plan offers 100 SMS per day to any network and free PRBT ringtones. Given that the prepaid plan has been revised, it can be recharged via the BSNL website or third-party apps or platforms. Given that it offers an additional validity of 4 days and additional data benefit as compared to similar plans from rivals, it is a good offering to choose from.Other BSNL Prepaid Plans RevisedNotably, this announcement from BSNL regarding the revision of the Rs 187 prepaid plan comes after the recent move wherein it revised the affordable Rs 56, Rs 57 and Rs 58 prepaid plans. The telco slashed the pricing of these plans and made them more affordable. However, the bundled benefits of these low-cost plans remain the same post the revision of their pricing. Also, their validity remains the same. As per the recent revision, the Rs 58 prepaid recharge plan is available for Rs 57, the Rs 57 plan has been revised to cost Rs 56 and the Rs 56 prepaid plan is revised to cost Rs 54.
OnePlus 10 Pro Precise Launch Timeframe Rumoured, May Arrive Early Next Year Posted: 17 Nov 2021 08:02 AM PST OnePlus launched its flagship OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro earlier this year and the company is looking forward to bringing a sequel series to the successful models. Speculations have already been made about the reveal of the OnePlus 10 Pro, the upcoming flagship by the smartphone company backed by Oppo. Latest rumours now suggest the actual launch timeframe of the smartphone as earlier it was reported that the device will be unveiled next year and no information on the precise timeline was available. The Speculations Around the DeviceEven though the rumours suggest that the device will arrive in the first quarter, if the leaked reports are to be believed, we might actually witness the device by the end of January or early February next year in China. Global launch of the device can be speculated to happen in the following months of March or April. Some reports suggest that the smartphones are under private testing in some countries of Europe and China currently, while there hasn't been any official comment from the makers. Moreover, if the device gets an early launch date in January of next year, it would mean that the smartphone maker has launched the sequel of its former flagship device in less than a year. The decreased time gap between the two smartphones of the flagship series can be credited to the fact that OnePlus never launched a OnePlus 9T series smartphone except for its RT variant which was launched only in China. As of now, it is expected that the OnePlus 10 series will include two devices namely the OnePlus 10 and its enhanced version OnePlus 10 Pro. The device could also come with Qualcomm's upcoming Snapdragon 898 processor or Snapdragon 8 Gen1. The operating system for the device will be developed by OnePlus and Oppo if the rumours are to be believed. OnePlus might also use a 65W or 125W fast charge technology with this series. The display of the device is expected to feature 6.7-inch QHD+ AMOLED with a 120Hz refresh rate.
PhonePe Witness Two Billion Monthly Transactions In October 2021 Posted: 17 Nov 2021 06:40 AM PST The digital payment platform PhonePe, which is a part of Flipkart Group that is controlled by Walmart Inc. has clocked over two billion transactions across the payment channels in October 2021. The company released a statement on Wednesday to reveal the numbers. Notably, this includes the payments made via the UPI and Bharat Bill Payment System. Back in February this year, PhonePe recorded one billion transactions a month. PhonePe has 145 million monthly active users and has recorded an annualised total payments value of $600 billion. Notably, the digital transactions have been made from over 19,000 pin codes that constitute over 99 percent of the country, claimed the statement from the payment platform as per ET Telecom. PhonePe Witnesses Rapid GrowthThe rapid growth of PhonePe was witnessed as it surpassed one billion transactions in just eight months. This growth indicates that there is a wider adoption of digital payments in the country, which has been accelerated further with the pandemic that has shut down the essential goods services in many parts across the country in the past 18 months. In terms of the value of the transactions that use UPI, it has crossed the $100 billion milestone for the first time in October 2021. There were 4.2 billion UPI transactions that amounted to Rs 7.71 lakh crore that was clocked in the month, thereby reaching all-time high in both terms for the payments channel. This growth was possible due to the increased demand for online shopping during the festive season. Also, the gradual reopening of the economy after the second wave of the pandemic contributed to this growth. Given that 80 percent of the tractions are from the tier 2 and tier 3 cities and beyond, there is clear evidence that digital payments have penetrated across the country's length and breadth, added the CEO and founder of PhonePe, Sameer Nigam. However, cash is still the king in the country's economy. When it comes to the ratio of cash circulation, it has touched a new high reaching 14.5 percent for the current fiscal year despite the decreased demand for it and the shrinking economy. On the other hand, the digital payments have grown three times since the fiscal year 2018.
Qualcomm to Cut Supply to Apple as the Latter Comes Up with its Own Chips Posted: 17 Nov 2021 06:08 AM PST During the ongoing 2021 Investor Day event, Qualcomm on November 17 announced its upcoming next-gen processors for PC which will be launched to compete with Apple Silicon's M series chips. However, as the events unfold further, the future plans for one of the most prominent chip maker's modems are revealed as Apple will be coming up with its own modem chips in the foreseeable future. The Future PlansThe Cupertino-based giant Apple has already announced its own modem chips which the company has been developing and working on for quite a long time. The current plan to bring those chips into the market is with 2023 iPhones. As Apple will start using its self-produced modem chips, Qualcomm's modem business is sure to get hit by it. The CFO of Qualcomm, Akash Palkhiwala has also confirmed in a statement that the company will be providing only around 20% of modem chips to Apple. Simply told, 2023 will be the last time Qualcomm will be the sole supplier of modem chips for iPhones. Qualcomm did describe it as a "planning assumption for forecast purposes" but it is hinted that the company is expecting the launch in 2023. On the other hand, Qualcomm is also planning to compete with Apple's M series chips. Qualcomm is going to come up with its own ARM-based PC processors which will be designed by Nuvia. The upcoming processor by the company is claimed to set the performance benchmark for Windows PC. Earlier Apple had to go on a legal battle with Qualcomm to shift to its self-produced modem chips which were settled in 2019. After the legal battle, Apple needed to source chips for its iPhones and thus entered into a multi-year partnership with Qualcomm. However, to achieve independence when it came to processors, Apple also started developing its own line of powerful processors.
TRAI Report Shows Vi Offered the Best Upload Speeds in October 2021 Posted: 17 Nov 2021 04:29 AM PST The telecom regulator TRAI has released the latest data on the performances of various 4G service providers. Vodafone Idea has been one of the most prominent players in the market when it comes to providing quality internet services. Vodafone Idea’s low customer base allows the telco’s networks to offer a great experience to the users as it must face lesser congestion than the other telcos. Even though Reliance Jio has remained on the top of the charts, Vodafone Idea has been giving a tough competition along with Bharti Airtel. The Statistics of these Service ProvidersAccording to a PTI report, Reliance Jio has topped the charts in the month of October after providing 21.9 Mbps of average daily internet speed. The company managed to achieve this outcome even after having a marginal dip in 4G data download speed previously after which it resumed the speed of 21.9 Mbps just as it did in June. The report from TRAI also shows that both service providers Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea have had a two and a half times jump in their registered 4G data download speed. The statistics show that VIL 4G has jumped to 15.6 Mbps of download data speed from its previously registered download speed of 6.5 Mbps. On the other hand, Bharti Airtel has reached the level of 13.2 Mbps of data download speed from its previously recorded 5 Mbps speed in the month of June. However, when it comes to the 4G data upload speed, VIL has broken its five-month record by reaching an average speed of 7.6 Mbps and also managed to stay on the top of the table. The other service providers namely Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel also managed to break their five-month record by reaching the upload speed of 6.4 Mbps and 5.2 Mbps respectively in October. The download speed gives access to users to consume data from the Internet and upload speed provides the accessibility to send or upload content to the internet or share it with other people. MySpeed application is used by telecom regulator TRAI to measure the average speed provided by these companies across the country.
