The iPhone 13 is becoming a success for the Cupertino tech giant despite the existing supply chain issues. Customers are buying the latest iPhones though there are mixed reviews suggesting that it is not a major upgrade as compared to its predecessor – the iPhone 12. The iPhone 13 is likely expected to sell over 80 million units in Apple's first fiscal quarter of 2022. Notably, this expected sales figure is not too ambitious for the company amidst the component supply issue that has hampered the timely delivery of its devices.

Apple iPhone 13 Sales Prediction

As per Daniel Ives, a Wedbush analyst in a note to investors spotted by AppleInsider, the company is all set to sell nearly 40 million iPhone 13 units between Black Friday and Christmas. While some analysts claim that the delivery estimates could be moderating, the Cupertino tech giant has not struck a balance between supply and demand. It is believed to pick up the pace in the iPhone shipments this holiday season. In China, the company is expected to sell 15 million units of its iPhones as people want to upgrade to the latest offering. This is said to be a good sign for Apple in China in the next year at a time when the iPhone 13 stocks are underwhelming right now. Furthermore, the analyst noted that the delivery times of the high-end models in the series – the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro max are said to extend as there is an increase in the demand by 15% than the capacity of Apple right now. This goes in line with the prediction by JP Morgan, which outlined the current situation of the iPhone 13 deliveries in the UK, US, China, and Germany. However, it noted that the delivery estimates are slowing down gradually for the iPhone 13 mini and standard models in the US. Besides iPhones, Ives also noted that the company is expected to sell nearly 100 million units of AirPods in the holiday quarter. The AirPods were refreshed after a couple of years with the third-generation model but it lacked the active noise cancellation ability. However, the solid performance of the product might help in the increased sales.

BSNL 4G Faces Yet Another Delay Due to TCS

It is no surprise that Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is facing issues with 4G. It was expected because it is trying homegrown 4G, and this is a first for India. There were no ready vendors with proven technology, and it takes time to come out with the successful products in this line of work. According to an ET Telecom report, BSNL is not happy with TCS at the moment. Despite extending the timeline, TCS hasn't made the desired progress with the proof of concept (PoC) of 4G products/equipment. BSNL has written a letter to TCS saying that the company hasn't deployed the RAN (radio access network) in a single site as per the terms and conditions of the expression of interest (EoI). The state-run telco has asked TCS to expedite the process so that there are no more delays.

BSNL Says 20W Radios Not in the Terms and Conditions

BSNL said that to date, TCS has only supplied 20W radios in a few bands, which are not according to the terms and conditions of the EoI. Earlier this year, TCS, along with the Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DoT) and Tejas Networks, were picked by the state-run telco for supplying core and radio equipment for the trial sites. Ashwini Vaishaw, the telecom minister of India, had also made the first call on the VoLTE trial network and called it a 'Made-in-India' achievement. BSNL has asked TCS not to make any excuses, and it won't accept that a change of location for deploying a trial network is the cause for delays. TCS told ET Telecom that they are committed and are working to develop the PoC for BSNL and are also making good progress. The delays were surely going to happen. Hopefully, for BSNL, this is not a very big delay because the telco needs to roll out 4G networks as fast as possible.

Both the telcos have prepaid plans with over-the-top (OTT) benefits in their arsenal. If you like streaming content online through OTT applications, there are some prepaid plans of Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea that you should pay close attention to.

Bharti Airtel Prepaid Plans for Streamers

There are four prepaid plans from Bharti Airtel that you can get if you love streaming content online. These plans cost Rs 349, Rs 499, Rs 699, and Rs 2,798. Out of the four plans, the Rs 349 plan stands out because it offers the membership of Amazon Prime. The other three plans offer the benefit of the Disney+ Hotstar Mobile plan for one year to the users. All of the above-mentioned plans offer users unlimited voice calling and 100 SMS/day. On top of this, users also get access to Airtel Thanks benefits. The Rs 349 prepaid plan comes with 2.5GB of daily data and a validity of 28 days. With this plan users get a total of 70GB of data. Moving on, with the Rs 499 prepaid plan users get 3GB of daily data for 28 days, so the total amount of data offered with this plan is 84GB. The Rs 699 and Rs 2798 plans offer 2GB of daily data to the users where the Rs 699 plan offers 56 days of service and Rs 2798 plan offers 365 days of service. Vodafone Idea (Vi) also offers four prepaid plans with a subscription to the Disney+ Hotstar Mobile plan for one year. These plans cost Rs 501, Rs 901, Rs 701, and Rs 2595. Apart from the Rs 2595 plan, all of the plans mentioned here offer 3GB of daily data but have different validities. The Rs 2595 plan comes with a validity of 365 days while the Rs 501, Rs 901 and Rs 701 plans come with service validities of 28 days, 84 days, and 56 days, respectively. But these aren't all the benefits that you get with these plans. Users will also get the Binge All Night and Weekend Data Rollover offers from the company with all of these plans. There's another prepaid plan from Vodafone Idea that comes with a streaming benefit. But it is a 4G data voucher and not an unlimited benefits prepaid plan. Regardless, it is worth mentioning it here because it offers a full year subscription to the Disney+ Hotstar Mobile plan. This 4G data voucher comes for a cost of Rs 601 and has a validity of 56 days. It offers 75GB of lump-sum data to the users which they can use as a data booster if they run out of their daily data limits every now and then. The four unlimited voice and data plans mentioned above also come with access to Vi Movies & TV for the users.

The Internet Service Provider, ACT in Bengaluru provides a 100 Mbps unlimited data plan called Rapid Plus. Using state-of-the-art fibre technology, the connection provides incredible speed and equal upload and download speed. Users can get a Rapid Plus pack from the provider at a monthly cost of Rs 985. Vivo Might Launch a Sequel to its X70 Series in India

Vivo launched X70 Pro and X70 Pro Plus in September as a part of its X70 series in India. It appears that Vivo would also be coming up with a sequel to the X70 series in India which will be the Vivo X80 series. If sources are to be believed, the new X80 series from Vivo may hit Indian markets in the month of January or February next year. Though there isn't a lot of details available about the upcoming series, it is speculated that the X80 series will feature two models which don't include the base model. Thus, it can be assumed that Vivo may come up with X80 Pro and X80 Pro Plus for the series as well.

The Specifications of the Devices

There isn't a lot of specification details available for the X80 series as no official announcement has been made yet from the makers. However, the sources have said that the base model might come with an FHD+ display running on 120Hz refresh rate. The device may feature the Dimensity 2000 chipset and might have Android 11 as the operating system. The camera module may include 50MP 1/1.3 primary sensor supporting a 5-axis stabilization along with a 12MP telephoto lens with 2x zoom according to the leaks. Amidst Supply Chain Issues, Indian Wearables Market Witnesses Record Growth

The Indian wearables market has witnessed a year-on-year growth of a whopping 93.8% in the third quarter of this year, which is between July and September. Also, during this period, the wearables shipment accounted for 23.8 million units, claimed the latest data from IDC (International Data Corporation). Notably, the segment has defeated the supply chain issues that slowed down the shipment of smartphones in the same period. For the uninitiated, the wearables market comprises smartwatches, fitness bands, and earwear. Notably, the shipments of wearables in September 2021 surpassed 10 million units and increased two-fold on a year-on-year basis. This resulted in creating a record quarter for the wearables in the country.

Wearable Market In India Hits Record Growth

As per the report, smartwatches continued to dominate the segment with total shipments of 4.3 million units in the third quarter of the year. On the other hand, the wristband category has declined in terms of annual growth once again. It further noted that the Indian brands have captured more than two-thirds of the market share in the wearable segment. Of these, Noise dominates other brands with a 26% market share for the sixth consecutive quarter. Furthermore, the report notes that the earwear category including neckbands, wireless over-the-ear headphones and TWS earbuds witnessed 18.7 million units of shipments and year-on-year growth of 77.9% in the third quarter of the year. In this category, BoAT has dominated the other brands and established its lead with a market share of a whopping 48% and total shipments of 9 million units. Within the earwear category, TWS devices have dominated with a total shipment of 7.4 million units and a 70.5% year-on-year growth in the market share in the third quarter of 2021. As per the Research Manager, Client Devices at IDC, Jaipal Singh, the key tactic has been celebrity endorsements. However, in order to maintain the growth momentum, these brands much invest in the latest design trends and features. Also, they need newer collaborations with their existing franchises. Eventually, these strategies will help create unique product experiences for users and help gain new customers.

According to recent rumours, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Xiaomi is working on a new device that could be leading its budget smartphone category. The rumours stirred up when two handsets with model numbers 2201123C and 2112123AC were spotted at a certification site. The latter of the two models was now again spotted on the TEENA certificate site of China solidifying the claims. The exact names of the devices are not known it is rumoured that the device could be a part of the upcoming Xiaomi 12 series and the one with the model number 2112123AC could be Xiaomi 12 mini if the rumours are to be believed.

The Device Could Feature Snapdragon 870 SoC

The spotting of the device in the TENNA certification centre provides some information about the device and the key highlights were Snapdragon 870 SoC being used in the model along with 67W fast charge technology. The certificate also mentioned that the device will run on Android software and will support 5G-enhance mobile broadband technology. Earlier it was also reported by tipster Mukul Sharma that a new phone is soon going to be launched in the global markets and maybe in India as well by Xiaomi. He shared his insights and claimed that the device will come with a Snapdragon 870 and. However, there's no evident way to confirm that the device spotted at the TENNA certification site is the same device everyone's been talking about. There's also no confirmation on whether this device with model number 2112123AC is indeed Xiaomi 12 mini. However, it is a fact hidden from none that the Chinese smartphone giant is soon coming up with its flagship series and if the sources are to be believed, an enhanced version of Xiaomi 12 Ultra is also in the works. Reports suggest that the enhanced version will be more similar to the Redmi K50 series as it will now feature an in-display fingerprint scanner. The leaked information on these two devices suggests that they will operate on Snapdragon 888 processor and will feature a 50MP camera.
