Apple iPhone 14 Pro Models May Feature Hole-Punch Displays From LG

Posted: 25 Dec 2021 07:15 AM PST

Apple iPhone 14

It's a new year, and it's time for a new iPhone! On the one hand, the talks on Apple's latest iPhone 13 and iOS updates are still going strong, and on the other, rumour mills are swirling about Apple's next smartphone – iPhone 14. The latest speculation about iPhone 14 is that the tech giant may say goodbye to the notch display for the phone; instead, it may opt for a hole punch design featuring a selfie camera and front sensor. Hole-pinch is commonly seen across Android phones.

Apple's TrueDepth camera system, available on iPhones with Face ID, crams several sensors into a small hole at the top of the screen. There is a dot projector, an infrared camera, a flood illuminator, and an infrared receiver. A speaker, FaceTime selfie camera, and proximity sensor are also included in the TrueDepth camera.

It sounds impossible to fit these many elements into a tiny circular cut out on display. According to one rumour, a few iPhone models may retain the notch, despite a hole-punch design as the Face ID hardware will go behind the display.

iPhone 14 Expected Design

In terms of design, it is likely to be a hybrid of both iPhone 12 and iPhone 4 with flat sides made of Titanium, making it more robust than earlier iPhone models. In the back, it may retain the glass surface.

According to a Korean website, The Elec, iPhone 14 Pro will feature a 6.06-inch display and iPhone 14 Max will come with a 6.7-inch display. The Cupertino-based company may integrate low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) OLED panels with a 120Hz ProMotion technology for both variants for iPhone 14. The report also said that LG supplies OLED panels to Apple for the first time. This is not entirely unlikely considering that LG has provided LCD panels to Apple in the past.

There are wide expectations in terms of camera design in iPhone 14. An Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had earlier predicted that the new iPhone 14 would feature a 48MP lens. However, it is unsure if all variants will feature a 48MP lens. iPhone 14 is likely to come with Apple's A16 Bionic chipset. According to Jon Prosser, a tech analyst, iPhone 14 is more likely to keep its lightning ports. Besides iPhone 14, Apple may roll out three new smartwatches in 2022. The prime expectations are Apple Watch Series 8, 2nd generation Apple Watch SE, and a new rugged version for athletes.

Earlier spotting of the device at Google Play console confirmed that the device is going to feature a MediaTek Dimensity 900 processor which will be built on a 7nm fabrication process and comes with Mali G68 GPU. It also revealed that the device could have 8GB of RAM.

The device will operate on Android 11 with the company's own XOS skin on top. As far as the camera module of the device is considered, Infinix Zero 5G is expected to house a triple rear camera setup which will consist of a 48MP primary camera along with Telephoto and Ultra-wide-angle lenses. It is speculated that the ultra-wide-angle lens might also double as the macro lens in terms of resolution. The camera module will also feature a dual-tone flash and will be rectangular in shape. The front of the device is going to feature a 16MP selfie shooter.

It is anticipated that Infinix Zero 5G will be backed by a 5000mAh battery and will support 33W fast charge technology. The handset will probably come with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner that will also be the power button. Galaxy S22 Ultra Camera Improvements

New leaks have emerged about one of the much-awaited devices Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. The leak suggests that Galaxy S22 Ultra has received major upgrades in its cameras particularly when it comes to image stabilisation and cinematography. A tipster has revealed that the new smartphone from Samsung will shoot considerably better videos than its predecessor. It is to be noted that Samsung will soon be launching its much talked about flagship series Galaxy S22 which will include Samsung Galaxy S22, Samsung Galaxy S22+ and Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra models.

New Details About Galaxy S22 Ultra

It is also speculated that the new Galaxy S22 Ultra will have enhanced stabilisation than ever before and to be precise – 58%. The device will feature an AI-assisted Wide Shift Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) which will significantly help in reducing the camera shake. Reports suggest it will improve the camera shake by as much as 4% in comparison to Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. For those unaware, Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is already the best smartphone available in the market when it comes to image stabilisation and its successor is seemingly going to break all the records.

It is also speculated that major changes have been made in terms of cinematography as well and the new Galaxy S22 Ultra will offer new features related to it as well. The handset is going to feature 12-bit raw files and Super HDR which will allow the videos to be more detailed. However, there are no changes in the camera specs of the device as it has already been reported that Galaxy S22 Ultra will feature a 108MP primary sensor along with an additional 12MP sensor along with two 10MP cameras just like its predecessor but it is known that pixel density alone cannot determine the quality of an image or a video.

Talking about other specifications of the device it has been reported recently that the ultra-model of Galaxy S22 series might be branded as Samsung Galaxy S22 Note reviving the Note devices from smartphone makers. Earlier, leaked images of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra model have already surfaced. The images suggest that the device will have a curved edge, hole punched display. A quad rear camera setup can also be seen in the image of the device and it is also rumoured that the device will have a devoted space for an S Pen that used to come with the extinct Note Series by Samsung.

Airtel Black Is Not About Affordability, But Quality Experience

Posted: 25 Dec 2021 04:16 AM PST

Airtel Black

Bharti Airtel has been very careful about its branding and the message that it is sending to its customers. The telco has never focused on being only 'affordable' at the cost of experience. Airtel launched its new service named Airtel Black a few months back in India. Airtel Black is a bundled service from Bharti Airtel wherein the customers can combine up to three services from the telco, including Direct-to-Home (DTH), broadband, and postpaid mobile services.

The 'Airtel Black' service is actually a step up from One Airtel (an older bundled service provided by the telco in a few cities), which was sort of a beta program for the company to test how the consumers are responding to the bundled services.

Many thought that Airtel Black was something that should be cheap. This is because the service bundles different services and allows users to pay for all of them under a single bill. But upon measuring, there's not a very big price difference. However, the thing with Airtel Black is, it is not made to be affordable but to provide a quality experience to users.

Bharti Airtel Never Said Airtel Black Is Here to be Cheap

Airtel Black is made to enhance user experience and convenience, not be cheap. The telco only allows postpaid mobile customers to be a part of it; while this will increase its average revenue per user (ARPU), customers also get a ton of benefits.

Airtel allows customers to pay for each service they bundle in all together under a single bill. This helps them save a lot of their valuable time and also offers keeps their mind at ease. Further, the telco promises Airtel Black customers a dedicated relationship team wherein they will never have to wait for more than 60 seconds for their queries to be solved.

Not just that, but the service is 'made for the customers', so the telco allows users to bundle in any service they want and at any time they want. Users also have the option to discontinue service whenever they want. The only thing is to be a part of Airtel Black; users need to be postpaid customers.

If you have a large family, Airtel allows up to adding 9 mobile connections under Airtel Black service. Airtel Black is made for customers who have the convenience and quality service. Bharti Airtel never intended the service to be very cheap but to make it convenient for people who are already consuming different services from the company and paying separate bills for it.

As far as the camera module of iQOO 9 is considered, early rumours suggested that the device will feature an OIS support that lines up with the information on the leaked images. The ripple rear camera setup of the device may be led by a 50MP Samsung GN5 primary camera. The iQOO 9 Pro on the other hand is expected to feature a 2K display just like its predecessor as further details about the handset hasn't been revealed. However, the Pro model could also feature 12GB RAM and 256GB of storage space internally.

Bharti Airtel

Bharti Airtel, one of the best options for purchasing a postpaid subscription if you live in India, offers data booster packs to postpaid subscribers. Data booster packs allow users to get more high-speed 4G data from Bharti Airtel at a nominal cost. There are currently four data booster packs on offer from the telco, and they start at Rs 100 and range up to Rs 500. India’s Wireline Subscribers Grew to 23.13 Million in September 2021

Posted: 24 Dec 2021 11:47 PM PST

Wireline

India is seeing an increase in the number of wireline subscribers. From July 19.82 million subscribers in July 2020, the number of wireline subscribers grew to 23.13 million in September 2021. The upward trend in the number of wireline subscribers has been shared by the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI).

COAI said that the telecom industry had seen a boost in the total wireline subscriber base. The industry body recognised the efforts of the government in ensuring easy market access to telecom equipment and a proactive regulatory framework ensuring the availability of services at affordable prices.

Wireline Subscribers Only Expected to Grow

Wireline subscribers are only expected to grow from here as the demand for reliable data connections will grow. Broadband connections are the best to ensure that people get reliable and fast internet whenever inside their homes.

According to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), the wireline subscribers grew from 23.13 million in September 2021 to 23.32 million in October 2021. Out of the total wireline subscribers, 91.72% of users lived in Urban areas, while 8.28% of users lived in rural areas.

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) held the highest wireline subscriber market share of 45.07% at the end of October 2021. Reliance Jio added over 2,27,408 wireline subscribers, while Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea added 85,984 and 5,749 wireline subscribers during October 2021. BSNL and MTNL lost 1,05,084 and 18,674 wireline subscribers during the same month.

While BSNL is the king of wireline subscribers in India, it is slowly losing out its market share to the private companies, and Jio is the one adding in most new subscribers. The numbers are surely going to grow by millions as the telcos reach more areas of the country with their fiber broadband services. Airtel and Jio are adding new wireline subscribers aggressively while Vodafone Idea is managing to sustain itself in the competition.

Reliance Jio vs Vodafone Idea Rs 199 Plan, Who is Better?

Posted: 24 Dec 2021 10:58 PM PST

Reliance Jio vs Vodafone Idea

Both Reliance Jio and Vodafone Idea offer their users a Rs 199 plan option. Post the tariff hikes, the Rs 199 plans don't offer users what they used to. In fact, the validity of low-end plans such as this one has been dragged down plenty. If you are considering to subscribe with a sub Rs 200 prepaid plan, Reliance Jio and Vodafone Idea might have something in store for you. Let's check out the benefits of both plans.

Reliance Jio Rs 199 Plan

Reliance Jio offers its Rs 199 prepaid plan with service validity of 23 days. This plan offers users 1.5GB of daily data along with 100 SMS/day and a free subscription to a suite of Jio applications including the JioTV, JioCinema, JioCloud, and JioSecurity. The total amount of data offered by this plan is 34.5GB. There is unlimited voice calling bundled as well.

Vodafone Idea Rs 199 Plan

Vodafone Idea Rs 199 plan offers an even shorter validity of 18 days. With this plan, users get 1GB of daily data means the total amount of data offered by this plan is 18GB. Users further get unlimited voice calling and 100 SMS/day. There is an over-the-top (OTT) benefit bundled of Vi Movies & TV Basic.

Who is the Winner Between Reliance Jio and Vodafone Idea?

Vodafone Idea (Vi) is clearly not winning this one. The telco doesn't offer any substantial benefit to the consumers with its Rs 199 plan while Jio offers a lot more. Jio's plan offers almost double the amount of data to the users as well as a longer validity. Not just that, but users also get the backing of a great nationwide 4G network which is not the case with Vodafone Idea's networks. The other two telecom operators including Bharti Airtel and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) don't offer any such plan so there's nothing else to compare.

Apple Might Completely Remove Physical SIM Slot from These iPhones

Posted: 24 Dec 2021 08:58 PM PST

Apple

Apple might completely remove the presence of a physical SIM card slot from the iPhone 15 Pro devices. While the iPhone 15 series has quite a bit of time to launch, and it is still too early to predict what Apple will do in the next two years, a report from blogdoiphone suggests that iPhone 15 Pro models will not have any physical SIM card slot. These devices are only said to come with eSIM card support. iPhones already offer support for eSIM, so it won't be something very new. But the users will not have a physical SIM card slot at all, and it might make many very nervous.

Apple, Bring USB Type-C Ports Already!

Hopefully, while Apple might be working on removing the physical SIM card slot from the iPhone 15 Pro models, it also brings the USB Type-C ports for the iPhones. Almost every smartphone manufacturer is making its smartphone worth with a USB Type-C port, so why not Apple?

Apple has already launched the USB Type-C iPads, so there's no reason why it can't do the same with iPhones. It will enable iPhone users to experience a 30W or even faster-charging experience.

The thing with eSIMs is, everyone knows that they are the future. The world's turning digital, and the scope for a physical SIM is going down with it. 2023 might be the year where we might see the iPhone 15 Pro models coming with only an eSIM facility and no physical SIM slots.

While eSIMs are good, they also have their challenges. Many would still prefer a physical SIM card slot over the eSIMs. It will be a big decision for Apple to make as it will definitely affect the sales of the iPhone 15 series devices. The iPhone 14 series devices expected to launch in September 2022 are also expected to undergo serious changes and come with very new features.
