Airtel Payments Bank has crossed the milestone of surpassing a total of 1 billion transactions volume during the September quarter of 2021-22. The numbers mean that Airtel has grown 61% on year-on-year growth in transaction volume per quarter. The ability to grow at such large scale in such a small period of time can be credited to the bank's digital-first model and distribution of over 5,00,000 banking points. The growth in transaction volume can be also attributed to the turning point that came because of the pandemic as more and more customers switched to digital modes of payments.

The Reason Behind Growth of the Bank

The development of the transaction volume comes from the number of digital products that are offered by Airtel including UPI based payments, FASTag, bill and utility payments, mobile recharge and DTH recharges and its set of retail solutions. According to a report from PTI, the CEO of Airtel Payments Bank, Anubrata Biswas has said in a statement that the Airtel Payments Bank offers its services to both urban digital and rural underbanked customers. He added that products under Airtel Payments Bank are designed to bring millions of users under the compass of digital banking.

Airtel Payments Bank offers a ton of services that are designed to make the job easier for the customers. The digital banking solutions offered by it allows the users to open up a bank account in mere five minutes using the process of video KYC. Moreover, users get to make secure payments using Safe Pay and also get a lot of benefits thanks to its 'Rewards123' program. It happens to be one of the most rapidly growing brands with over 115 million active users and over 8 million merchants across the country. The bank became profitable in the September quarter of 2021-2022 with annual revenues of Rs 1000 crore. In addition to this, the bank is also among the key five issuers of FASTag and processors for the Bharat Bill Payment System.

However, the icon for WhatsApp pay represented by the rupee symbol is available just next to the “Type your message here” and the design seems to be an attempt to persuade users to use WhatsApp Pay feature. There are users who do not indulge in using WhatsApp Pay and can be a very annoying feature for them while using the application. The symbol has also replaced the 'attached' symbol which had existed on the app forever and the interface would become quite simpler if the WhatsApp pay symbol was put inside the attach options where it was originally found.

It was earlier reported that Xiaomi's next flagship Xiaomi 12 series is all set to make its debut on December 28 in China. Earlier reports have suggested that the series will include Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12X, Xiaomi 12 Pro, and Xiaomi 12 Ultra smartphones. Now through a recent leak, key specifications about Xiaomi 12 have surfaced just a few days ahead of its launch. It is being said that the company will launch Xiaomi 12 alongside Xiaomi 12X and Xiaomi 12 Pro at the upcoming launch event of the Chinese smartphone manufacturer.

Expected Specifications for Xiaomi 12

The recent revelations suggest that Xiaomi 12 will come with a display featuring a 6.28-inch AMOLED FHD+ display that offers a 20:9 aspect ratio and a 120Hz refresh rate. It is also speculated that the display will have 12-bit colours along with 1500 nits of brightness and HDR 10+. In addition to this, the display of the device will also feature an added layer of protection through Gorilla Glass Victus.

As far as the processor of the device is considered, it is being anticipated that the device will be powered by Qualcomm's latest and most powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen1 chipset which will be combined with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. Talking about the camera module of Xiaomi 12, it is expected that the device will feature a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 50MP primary camera, a 13MP ultra-wide lens with a 123-FOV, and a 32MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom.

The front of the device, on the other hand, is being rumoured to feature a 16MP selfie shooter, however, Xiaomi has recently announced its 32MP selfie camera that will come with a beauty filter that will offer advanced pixel-level skin rejuvenation supported by GAN (generative adversarial network) and the new camera could be featured on the smartphone as well.

Xiaomi 12 is expected to be backed by a 4700mAh battery and will support a 67W fast charge technology along with 30W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging. The Xiaomi 12 could also feature an in-display fingerprint scanner. For the charging technology mentioned above, the device might have a USB Type-C fast charge port and wireless charging as well. Xiaomi 12 could launch with Android 12-based MIUI 13 based on the speculations made previously.

BSNL Bharat Fibre Plan at Rs 449: This basic fibre plan provides internet at 30 Mbps speed with a FUP limit of 3300GB. Post data limit, the speed will decrease to 2 Mbps, with free 24 hours calling feature to any network. The subscriber has to deposit one-month rental charges as a security deposit. There is also a one-time installation charge of Rs 500, which comes in the first bill.

BSNL Bharat Fibre broadband plan at Rs 499: This is the lowest rental fibre optic internet plan from BSNL. Subscribers can get unlimited internet at a speed of up to 50Mbps till 100 GB per month and then at 2Mbps after the limit. There is a security deposit of one month, which is Rs 499. There are 24 hours unlimited free calling on any network in India, and no rental is imposed on the telephone. If the subscriber opts for a two-year subscription, one may get three months of free service. If opted for a three-year subscription, one can get four months of free service with the plan. The plan is available in all telecom circles except for Andaman and Nicobar, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Kerala and Calcutta circles.
