Posted: 26 Mar 2022 09:10 AM PDT

WhatsApp Beta

The social media messaging platform WhatsApp is known for introducing continuous updates either on the stable versions or via the beta version to improve the experience of its users. Now according to a new report, WhatsApp is rolling out a brand-new update via the Google Play Beta Program. The new update will bring the WhatsApp version to 2.22.8.7. With the new update, WhatsApp will bring new indicators for the End-to-End encryption at the bottom of the call history. Let's find out more.

What is the New Update?

The report comes in from WABetaInfo according to which the name of the new update is "End-to-end Indicators." The upcoming update from WhatsApp is still under development and it is most likely that it is testing it to bring with the stable versions in the future updates.

With this new update, users will now find a footer note at the bottom of their call history page which would indicate that your calls are end-to-end encrypted so nobody, not even WhatsApp and Meta, can listen to them. According to the report, WhatsApp is also planning to introduce the same footer at the bottom of the chats list and status updates, however, there is no evidence of it as of yet.

In separate news, WhatsApp has also started rolling out the much-anticipated multi-device support feature for its users. With the new feature, the users of the platform will now be able to connect up to four devices along with one phone at a time. It is to be noted that in the case of the phone being inactive for more than 14 days, the linked devices will automatically be disconnected.

The details about the multi-device support feature have now been updated on WhatsApp's FAQ page. The four devices which can be linked simultaneously will also include laptops and PCs. It will not be necessary for the users to keep their phones connected to the internet while being on another device. Moreover, WhatsApp has also confirmed that end-to-end encryption will be enabled on the chats that take place using connected devices.

iPhone SE 2 Gets Big Price Cut, Should You Buy

Posted: 26 Mar 2022 06:09 AM PDT

iPhone SE 2

The iPhone SE 2 has got another price cut in India. The smartphone is listed at a discounted price in Flipkart. While the more powerful iPhone SE 3 is already out, the iPhone SE 2 can be a good buy for budget-conscious people looking to get their hands on an iPhone.

The iPhone SE 2 is currently listed at a starting price of Rs 25,999 (64GB) in Flipkart and is out of stock. However, just by paying a little more, you can get the 128GB variant for Rs 27,999 (Red). Upon exchange, users can get the price of the smartphone further down. There's also a Rs 1,000 cashback on using Citi Bank credit and debit cards. Then there's also a 256GB variant which is available for Rs 44,999.

Is It Worth Buying iPhone SE 2 at a Discounted Price

The iPhone SE 2 is currently available at a discounted price on Flipkart. But the question is, is it worth it?

The answer is simple; it depends from person to person. So let's talk about who should buy this smartphone.

Since it is powered by the A13 Bionic, it is not a weak smartphone. Yes, but the camera isn't the best in class compared to other mid-range devices available in the market today. It is an iPhone that is built for people who aren't using smartphones very heavily.

There were many reports which said that the iPhone SE 2 had an under-clocked A13 Bionic SoC. But nothing was confirmed by Apple regarding this. In a true sense, this is the iPhone a user can go for if he/she only wants to use the smartphone for mainly voice calling purposes. It is not a device made for high-quality visuals and a great multimedia experience.

It has a very small 4.7-inch Retina HD display and might feel a little outdated today. There's also the iPhone SE 3 and the iPhone 12 series available at more affordable costs than the current flagship — iPhone 13 series.

iPhone 14 Series Might be Much Different than Any iPhone Series Until Now

Posted: 26 Mar 2022 05:20 AM PDT

iPhone 14

In September this year, Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 14 series globally. Every time a new iPhone series arrives, users get to see a new generation SoC. With the iPhone 11 series, it was A13 Bionic, iPhone 12 series it was A14 Bionic, and the iPhone 13 series came powered by the A15 Bionic.

The common thing about all of these iPhone series was that all of them were powered by the same SoC if they were in the same series. For example, whether it is top of the line iPhone 13 Pro Max or the iPhone 13 mini, both were powered by the exact same A15 Bionic. But this time around, Apple is going to create a major difference between the normal models and the Pro models.

iPhone 14 Pro Models to Feature More Powerful Chips

Note that nothing is confirmed and set in stone; all of these are based on leaks and rumours. According to the leaks, the iPhone 14 series will feature four devices — iPhone 14, iPhone Max, iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

The Pro models will be powered by the A16 Bionic, but the normal models which are the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max, will carry A15 Bionic.

In terms of pricing, the iPhone 14 might be priced the same as the iPhone 13 right now, but the 'Max' models might be $100 more expensive, said a 91Mobiles report. It isn't like A15 Bionic is slow or outdated. But in front of the A16 Bionic SoC's, the normal models might look a little weak.

Nonetheless, iPhone 14 series is expected to bring a lot of new features to the table. First of all, we might finally see Apple ditching the notch and accepting the punch-hole cutout system that other Android companies have been doing so for a very long time. In addition to that, all the iPhone 14 models might support 120Hz refresh rate support.

Posted: 26 Mar 2022 03:07 AM PDT

Realme GT Neo 3

The Chinese smartphone manufacturer had just launched its Realme GT Neo 3 on March 22 in China as the world's fastest charging phone. The latest premium from Realme is now reportedly arriving in India as well as Malaysia. Realme GT Neo 3 is the company's latest addition to the GT series lineup and according to a tip has now been cleared at the certification sites in India and Malaysia. Let's find out more.

The tweet was shared by tipster Abhishek Yadav which showcases the certification for the Realme GT Neo 3 at the BIS and SIRIM certification sites. BIS is the Indian certification site which stands for Bureau of Indian Standards whereas the latter stands for Standard and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia. According to the tipster the handset might arrive in late April or early May which makes a lot of sense as the Chinese smartphones generally take a month or two to arrive globally after the domestic launch.

Realme GT Neo 3 Specs

Realme GT Neo 3 arrives with a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400pixels. The device has a centrally aligned hole punch cutout housing the selfie camera and the display supports 120Hz of refresh rate. Realme GT Neo 3 is backed by a 4500mAh battery with the company's latest 150W fast charging support. However, the smartphone will also have a variant that will be backed by a 5000mAh battery with 80W fast charging support. In addition to this, the handset comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner and runs on Android 12-based Realme UI 3.0 out of the box.

Airtel Purchasing Additional Stake in Indus Towers Is Good for Long-Term

Posted: 26 Mar 2022 02:11 AM PDT

Bharti Airtel

Bharti Airtel purchasing an additional stake in Indus Towers is a good thing for the company in the long term. Indus Towers is driving the infrastructure growth in the telecom sector, and the demand for its services will grow further as the 5G market matures in the country. Bharti Airtel recently announced that it would be purchasing an additional 4.7% stake in Indus Towers at a discounted rate from the Vodafone Group UK. The telco had placed a condition that Vodafone would use the proceeds from the equity sale for clearing dues of Vodafone Idea (Vi) with Indus Towers and infuse the rest of the amount as fresh equity into Vi.

Airtel Already Owns Plenty of Indus Towers

With the move, Airtel is helping itself as well as Vodafone Idea. The telco will get Vi's dues cleared with Indus Towers, which will be good for the tower company and ultimately good for Airtel as it owns a major chunk of the company.

Further, infusing fresh capital in Vodafone Idea (Vi) would keep the balance of the sector in check. Even Airtel has promoted the idea of 3 private telecom operator market in India. With the additional stake, Airtel would become an even larger owner of the company. Airtel already had close to 42% of Indus Towers. This additional 4.7% would make Airtel's presence as a promoter even stronger in Indus Towers.

The more money Indus Towers makes with infrastructure development in India, the more money Airtel will also make as an owner.

In addition to that, Airtel is also deleveraging really rapidly before the 5G spectrum auctions, which is again a good thing. The company has generated profits and a ton of free cash flow, which is a very big positive for the investors.

Bharti Airtel's growth rate should only increase from here as Vi is still struggling in the mobile business while Airtel is coming out with services such as Airtel Black to increase average revenue per user (ARPU).

It would be interesting to see if Airtel would want a controlling stake in Indus Towers in the future as the telco is very close to owning 51% of the tower company.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, Don’t Fall for the Promise of S Pen

Posted: 26 Mar 2022 12:57 AM PDT

Galaxy S22 Ultra

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is the flagship smartphone from Samsung for 2022. While Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+ are also good, the S22 Ultra is in a league of its own. But there's something that needs to be addressed. Many have said it before, and I will do it again; the Galaxy S22 Ultra is nothing but a Galaxy Note device branded into the S series.

If you want a Note device, the Galaxy S22 Ultra is the best option. The S Pen stylus is packed into the device at the bottom. It is not a bad device, but it is not what many users really need!

Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+ Decent Enough

If you want the experience of the flagship, the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+ are decent enough. Both the devices bring a power-packed experience to the table and could be a very good alternative to the S22 Ultra.

The S22 Ultra is a powerful smartphone nonetheless. But it is also way more expensive, and most of the users buying it might not need it at all.

The Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+, on the other hand, are more affordable and can offer a similar experience.

Note that if you can look ahead of the Samsung smartphones, Apple's iPhone 13 series is not a bad option. iPhones are different league smartphones and shouldn't be compared with Androids. Regardless, in the same price range as the S22, you can get the iPhone 13. With cashback and exchange, the iPhone 13's base model's price could come under Rs 70,000, which is really not a bad deal.

With iPhone 13, a big advantage will be that the user will get OS updates for years to come, and Apple's privacy policies are very strict. However, even Samsung has promised four years’ worth of OS updates with the S22 series, which is not bad for being an Android smartphone.

OnePlus 10R Might Feature 80W Fast Charging, Dimensity 8100 SoC

Posted: 26 Mar 2022 12:00 AM PDT

OnePlus 10R

This year OnePlus is expected to launch many new smartphones and other lines of accessories. Amongst them is the affordable sort of flagship device – the OnePlus 10R. Now, of course, it is going to be an upgrade over the OnePlus 9R. But this time around, OnePlus might ditch a Qualcomm chipset and go with the Dimensity 8100 SoC instead. The Chinese tech giant had decided to pack the Snapdragon 870 SoC from Qualcomm in the 9R. But with the 10R, that might change to Dimensity 8100 SoC. But this is not all; a few more key specifications of the smartphone are out right now. Let's take a look at them.

OnePlus 10R Specifications Expected

According to a 91Mobiles report in collaboration with a famous tipster Yogesh Brar, the OnePlus 10R could be the rebranded version of Realme GT Neo 3. The OnePlus 10R might sport a 6.7-inch E4 AMOLED display with support for 120Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution. The display is also said to support HDR10+.

As mentioned above, the smartphone might pack the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 SoC coupled with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. The device might pack a 5000mAh battery with support for 80W fast charging.

But in one of the biggest surprises, OnePlus might not integrate the alert slider into this smartphone. This is something that could be a major disappointment for the fans. In the camera department, the device might feature a triple-camera setup at the rear with a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary sensor with OIS support, 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor with Sony IMX355 sensor, and a 2MP macro sensor.

For selfies, there might be a 16MP sensor at the front. Further, the device might run on OxygenOS 12 based on Android 12 out of the box and have Gorilla Glass protection at the top. The report says that there could be a version of the smartphone with 150W fast charging and a 4500mAh battery.

OnePlus 10 Pro Price Leaked, Might be More Expensive than OnePlus 9 Pro

Posted: 25 Mar 2022 10:20 PM PDT

OnePlus 10 Pro

OnePlus 9 Pro, which launched in 2021, was a shocker for many as the company had priced the smartphone starting at Rs 64,999 in India, and its superior memory variant came for Rs 69,999. This meant that OnePlus was in now the league of Apple and Samsung with its 'Pro' smartphones. The OnePlus 10 Pro is just days away from its official launch in the country. The device has already launched in the international market and will make its way to India on March 31, 2022. A popular tipster, namely Abhishek Yadav, has leaked the price of the smartphone.

OnePlus 10 Pro Price Leaked Before Launch

Yadav said that the OnePlus 10 Pro would be available in India in two memory variants where the base variant will cost Rs 66,999 and the superior variant will cost Rs 71,999. Of course, there should be cashback offers bundled with credit and debit cards of major banks. However, if this is true, then the OnePlus 10 Pro would become the most expensive smartphone launched by OnePlus in the Indian market. The smartphone will go on the first sale from April 5, 2022, and will launch in two colours — Emerald Forest and Volcanic Black.

Note that the actual price of the smartphone could be very different from the one mentioned here as it is a leak and not an actual announcement from the company.

OnePlus 10 Pro Specifications

OnePlus 10 Pro has already launched for the international market; thus, we know its specifications. The only thing we don't know officially is the price. But that will be cleared on March 31, 2022, as the device is launched in the country.

The OnePlus 10 Pro packs the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen1 with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of RAM. It has a 6.7-inch LTPO 2.0 AMOLED display with support for up to 120Hz refresh rate and QHD+ resolution with 1300nits of maximum brightness.

The device comes with a 5000mAh battery with 80W fast-charging (wired) and 50W wireless charging. There's a triple-camera setup at the rear with a 48MP Sony IMX789 sensor with OIS support, 50MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and an 8MP telephoto sensor with 3.3x optical zoom with OIS. For selfies and video calling, there's a 32MP sensor at the front.

Jio Silently Launches New Rs 555 Prepaid Plan With Disney+ Hotstar

Posted: 25 Mar 2022 08:45 PM PDT

Jio

Reliance Jio has launched a new Rs 555 prepaid plan in India with a Disney+ Hotstar subscription. This plan comes at a time when IPL is only a few hours away. The company has silently added the plan on its website for the users in the Cricket category. It is worth noting that Jio used to offer a Rs 555 plan before the tariff hikes too. With the old Rs 555 plan, users got 1.5GB of daily data, 100 SMS/day, and unlimited voice calling. However, that's not the case anymore. The new Rs 555 prepaid plan from Reliance Jio is a plan made for users looking for a lump-sum data option. Let's take a look at the complete benefits of the Rs 555 prepaid plan from Reliance Jio.

Reliance Jio Rs 555 Prepaid Plan With Disney+ Hotstar Complete Benefits

The Rs 555 prepaid plan from Reliance Jio comes with a total of 55GB of data. Note that this plan is not meant for users who want an unlimited benefits prepaid plan which bundles voice calling and SMS benefits too.

The Rs 555 plan is actually a data add-on plan that offers users lump-sum 55GB of data. As mentioned, this plan doesn't come with voice calling or SMS benefits. The total validity offered with this plan is 55 days.

The over-the-top (OTT) subscriptions include Disney+ Hotstar Mobile which costs Rs 499 per year on a standalone basis. Further, Jio apps including JioCloud, JioTV, JioSecurity, and JioCinema is offered to the users with this plan.

Since this plan costs more than Rs 200, you should also be entitled to the JioMart Maha Cashback of 20% of up to Rs 200. This is a solid data add-on plan for people who are working from their homes. Since it also comes with standalone validity, it can be a great option for people who are only recharging with mostly talktime plans.

Jio Offers Most Economical 4G Prepaid Plan With 84 Days Validity in India

Posted: 25 Mar 2022 07:50 PM PDT

Reliance Jio

If you are looking for a 4G prepaid plan with 84 days of service validity in India right now, you will have a ton of options at your disposal from all the telecom operators, including Reliance Jio, Vodafone Idea (Vi), Bharti Airtel, and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL). However, all of these plans are different in price and offer varied benefits. But amongst all of these, there's one plan that is the most economical and is the best deal for users. Which plan am I talking about? Read ahead to find out.

Prepaid Plan Which Offers the Best Deal to Users Looking for an 84 Days Service Validity Offering

The plan that I am talking about comes from Reliance Jio. With this plan from Reliance Jio, users get 1.5GB of daily data and 100 SMS/day along with unlimited voice calling. In addition to this, there's a subscription to the Jio apps as well. Not to forget, the 20% JioMart Maha Cashback offer.

Still didn't figure out the plan I am talking about? It costs Rs 666. If you already have JioMart cashback and are recharging through the official app of Jio, you can get an even better deal on the plan.

However, if you don't, you will still get a 20% cashback of up to Rs 200 on this recharge which you can utilise for the next recharge or in any Reliance Retail stores. This is the best 84 days deal in India for prepaid users right now. Airtel and Vodafone Idea (Vi) offer the same plan for Rs 719. Jio's plan is just way more affordable.

Yes, Jio also has a Rs 395 plan option for users, but it doesn't qualify as the 'Best' plan for most users. But if you want an 84 days plan and can survive with 6GB of data, you can go with the Rs 395 option. With this plan, users get 1000 SMS and unlimited voice calling along with Jio apps and cashback.

Not to forget that BSNL has an even more affordable option than Jio's plan. But the issue with BSNL's plans is that they won't be backed by 4G networks; thus, I have only considered the private telcos here. But very soon, if BSNL is able to launch 4G, it will be interesting to see a change in market dynamics between the telcos in the country.
