Broadband and Mobile Internet Come with FUP Limit: What is It and Importance

Posted: 17 Jul 2022 04:29 AM PDT

Broadband

The imposition of the Fair Use Policy (FUP) is one of the primary causes of sluggish internet speed. When you use more data than allowed by your chosen broadband plan, it immediately kicks in, slowing down your internet connection. Let’s examine FUP in broadband and how it affects speed.

Understanding what is Fair Use Policy (FUP)

Fair Use Policy, or FUP, is a term used by many broadband providers to describe their data caps. For example, if you exceed the cap on your monthly 4 Mbps broadband plan, your internet speed will be immediately reduced for the following month by the broadband provider.

Most broadband services make it very obvious when the package is limitless. When the package is not unlimited, they may occasionally provide a specific number that indicates how much data can be accessed monthly.

After explaining what FUP in internet terms is, let’s move on to why broadband providers include it in your tariff. Come, let’s look at what’s below:

Why do Broadband Providers Impose FUP?

On a broadband provider’s line, many of you might share the same data capacity. This is known as a “contention ratio,” which typically varies from one to fifty on each side.

Therefore, if one of you using the same line tries to download a large file, the other user will experience difficulties with the broadband speed.

Broadband providers enforce FUP in order to prevent this scenario. They benefit from limiting their internet usage at busy times. As a result, you will always have access to the best internet quality. For instance, there is a significant likelihood that your bandwidth will be capped during peak hours if your broadband connection offers 24 Mbps and unlimited downloads.

FUP does not, however, affect every user. Who does it actually affect, then? Let’s examine the response in more detail below.

1. If you don’t use peer-to-peer or file-sharing software, the FUP won’t affect you. But if you are, make sure to avoid downloading and uploading large files during busy times.

2. The broadband operator will let you know if the FUP applies to you if your use of the internet during peak hours affects other users.

3. If you continue to use the internet excessively, the provider will email you to ask you to limit the number of files you upload and download during busy times. However, if the issue still exists, they will be forced to limit your access during busy hours.

Speed Limitation

Your connectivity may become slower due to the broadband provider. Oh, and guess what? This might go on for a whole month!

Service Termination

Your Wi-Fi connection could be terminated for persistent infractions. Yes, that is accurate. So, following the initial warning, make sure to follow the provider’s advice!

OnePlus Nord Buds Review: Just What an Affordable TWS Should be Like

Posted: 16 Jul 2022 10:18 PM PDT

OnePlus Nord Buds

OnePlus Nord Buds launched in late April in India. From the Nord branding itself, you can figure out that they are more in the affordable category. One thing that OnePlus has always tried to deliver with Nord products is quality. While the Nord products are identified as affordable OnePlus products, they are still quite good in performance. This is the first time OnePlus launched TWS earbuds with the Nord branding. I don't want to take a lot of your time so let's see how these Nord buds are.

OnePlus Nord Buds Design and Body Review

OnePlus Nord Buds

I got the white variant for review. The charging case is mildly taller than how I prefer it to be. However, you can still carry it in your pocket comfortably. The OnePlus Nord Buds charging case has a shiny finish. I would any day prefer the black variant over this one, but the white one isn't bad either. The design of the charging case is slightly peculiar. I don't know what to make of it. But, it will definitely grow on you once you start using it. Opening and closing the lid is an effortless task which can be done with a single hand as well. There's a Type-C charging port at the back.

OnePlus Nord Buds

The LED light for giving indications about the status of the OnePlus Nord Buds is at the front. Once you open the lid, you will see two pieces of earbuds. The right earpiece is marked with the 'R' sign and the left earpiece with 'L'.

OnePlus Nord Buds

Let's examine the earpiece now. The oddly shaped flat stem definitely adds to the functionality of the earphones. The button on top of the stem is circular and is easy to press because of the flat surface. There are two speaker grills. One is near the magnets, and the other is, of course, from where the main sound will come from. The one near the magnets feels like it is made to help with noise cancellation.

These are, of course, pretty stylish and unique-looking earbuds. You should definitely walk up to a store and try them out if you are looking for affordable and stylish TWS earbuds. The dimensions of the charging case are – 67.9×35.5×28.68mm and the dimensions of the earbuds are – 27.76×20.72×23.49mm.

OnePlus Nord Buds

The weight of the earbuds is 4.82g, and the charging case is 41.7g. Let me walk you through the audio experience that you will get with the OnePlus Nord Buds.

OnePlus Nord Buds Review: Audio Experience and Performance

OnePlus Nord Buds

The OnePlus Nord Buds deliver quite a balanced sound experience. In every department, the sound is just at the sweet spot. There are 12.4mm dynamic drivers inside the earbuds with four microphones as well (2 in each earbud).

Honestly, I wouldn't mind listening to songs day in and out on the OnePlus Nord Buds, even though I have the more expensive earbuds from other companies. The earbuds are IP55 rated, meaning they are water and sweat-resistant. This means that you won't have to worry about taking them out on your next workout in the gym or an outdoor run.

There's support for Dolby Atmos, but not with every smartphone. It is best to use with OnePlus phones for the Dolby Atmos sound support and a superior sound experience. The earbuds come with support for passive noise cancellation, which is just decent.

If you are a gamer, then pairing these earbuds with the OnePlus phones is again the best option. With the Pro Gaming mode on OnePlus devices, the Nord Buds will give as low as 94ms ping for low-latency gaming.

OnePlus Nord Buds Useful Features and Functions

OnePlus Nord Buds

The OnePlus Nord Buds are compatible with the HeyMelody app. Some of the special features of the Nord Buds are – OnePlus Fast pair support, Dolby Atmos Support, and Sound Master Equaliser. These features contribute to giving a better audio experience to the users.

The Bluetooth version that the latest Nord Buds from OnePlus can support is Bluetooth 5.2. OnePlus said that the supported audio formats by these earbuds are – SBC and AAC. The wireless range is 10 meters, which is just not enough.

Let's talk about the functions a little. From either of the earbud pieces, you can single tap on the silver button to play/pause music or any other audio. With the double tap, you can go to the next track or answer a call or hang call. To play the previous track, users will have to tap the button three times. To reject calls or switch devices, press and hold for three seconds.

OnePlus Nord Buds Battery Review

OnePlus Nord Buds

OnePlus Nord Buds come with a 41mAh battery (each earbud), and the charging case has a 480mAh battery in total. OnePlus claims that with just 10 minutes of charge, users can get five hours of performance out of the Nord Buds. Of course, there's a USB Type-C charging port at the rear for supporting fast charging.

When fully charged, the Nord Buds can deliver a music playback of seven hours, phone calls worth 3.5 hours, and a combined playback of 30 hours. To be honest, battery has never been an issue with any OnePlus TWS earbuds ever for me.

You can connect the charging case of the Nord Buds with your OnePlus charger or any other charger with a Type-C head.

OnePlus Nord Buds Price and Conclusion

OnePlus Nord Buds

The OnePlus Nord Buds are currently available in India for Rs 2,799 only. There are bank offers available with Axis Bank on Amazon and on the official website of OnePlus. These TWS earbuds are available in three colours – Blue Agate, Black Slate, and White Marble.

These are pretty good and responsive earphones. Bass is perfect, and the sound is also very crisp and clear. You can definitely go out and try them for yourself. The other OnePlus TWS earphones you can purchase from OnePlus right now are – OnePlus Buds Pro (review) and OnePlus Buds Z2 (review).

TelecomTalk Interviews: Mavenir Says 5G a Key Bet for Growth of ORAN in India

Posted: 16 Jul 2022 06:48 AM PDT

TelecomTalk

India is very close to getting its first commercial 5G network. There's no saying which telco would be the first to launch it, but with the arrival of 5G, the business landscape of India will change forever.

Sanjay Raina, Vice President, Sales for India & South Asia, Mavenir, told TelecomTalk that 5G is not just a connectivity story that we had in the past.
"4G, for example, was, you know, kind of helping YouTubers and the other form of communication which needed those kinds of speeds. But 5G comes with a very different paradigm," said Raina.

Raina also talked about how 5G would benefit multiple industries, including agriculture, manufacturing, and more. He also shared multiple use-cases that would be enabled for different industry verticals once 5G arrives (watch the video interview on YouTube to get the full conversation).

Q. How is Mavenir's Cloud-Native Open RAN Approach Changing the Traditional Telecom Market?

The first paradigm shift was when the networks were made virtual, but the second we progressed further, there were certain challenges in the VM-based implementation of the cloud. So, we moved to the cloud-native.

The cloud-native basically brings cost efficiency, more granularity in terms of service level quality, and better management of the application and the other hardware.

There's an element of micro-services which comes into play wherein you can just choose a container environment, and if there's any change to be done on any application, only that container would be picked up, and the rest will keep on moving.

Another dimension that it brings is the CICD (Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment). That is another thing which dynamically keeps giving additional lever to an operator in terms of any openness to be created, any integration to be created with the external world, so that opens up a lot of things. You can't stay at proprietary technology as it won't give you the game.

Q. You recently partnered with Airtel, Are You also in Talks with Vodafone Idea and Jio as well?

Yes, we are in talks with various operators at the moment, so I can't name any of them.

Q. When will the Shift to ORAN come in India?

I think in the next six to eight months, you should be able to see large chunks in India, and 5G is our one of our key bets.

There's a lot more, listen to the complete conversation on the video above, or you can also directly go to the YouTube channel of TelecomTalk.

Airtel, Jio, Vodafone Idea Circle Wise Coverage and Capacity Analysis WRT Spectrum Holdings

Posted: 16 Jul 2022 03:58 AM PDT

Bharti Airtel Coverage

The private telcos, as well as the followers of the telecom industry, are eagerly waiting for the spectrum auction slated for July 26, 2022. This will be the first 5G-focused spectrum auction held in India. Before we head into the auction, which is only a few days away, let’s see which telco is actually winning in different circles when it comes to capacity and coverage. Indian consumers are going to continue consuming 4G services majorly, and thus, a strong 4G coverage and capacity will matter a lot in giving customers a good mobile experience for the telcos.

For this story, only Airtel, Jio and Vodafone Idea (Vi) are considered. Please be noted that any technology (2G/4G/5G) can be used with the liberalised spectrum, and that drives market dynamics.

Basics on Bands:

Low bands (sub-1 GHz) support widespread coverage, including indoors, across urban, suburban and rural areas. Mid-bands (1 GHz – 6 GHz) typically offer a good mixture of coverage and capacity benefits. The mid-bands generally have higher available bandwidth than the low-band and thus more capacity.

For ease of explanation and understanding, the terms ‘Coverage’ and ‘Capacity’ are used. When term coverage is used, it refers to bands 800(2x) and 900(2x), and for term capacity aggregate of – 1800(2x), 2100(2x), [2300, 2500](x) – bands is referred. The comparison is based on the respective spectrum holding values, and the actual scenario may differ based on the deployments, band characteristics, real case coverage scenarios and challenges.

Table for Spectrum Holdings in India

Vodafone Idea

1. Andhra Pradesh & Telangana – Category ‘A’ Circle

With Jio and Airtel competing in the coverage aspect, Airtel heads the capacity aspect with a major share of its spectrum in 1800 MHz and 2300 MHz bands. Jio leads the 2300 MHz band with the highest spectrum holding of 40 MHz.

Coverage vs Capacity Winner:

a) Coverage – Jio, very close is Airtel.

b) Capacity – Airtel.

2. Assam – Category ‘C’ Circle

Airtel can offer the best coverage with its spectrum holding in Assam, followed by Jio. Vi doesn’t hold any spectrum in the sub-1 GHz bands. Vi holds the highest spectrum in 1800 MHz, whereas Airtel and Jio are equally capable of offering capacity through their 2300 MHz band. Overall, Airtel leads the capacity segment here.

Coverage vs Capacity Winner:

a) Coverage – Airtel, next close is Jio.

b) Capacity – Airtel, next close is Vodafone Idea.

3. Bihar – Category ‘C’ Circle

Airtel wins the coverage aspect with very slight points when compared to Jio. Vi doesn’t hold any spectrum in the cover bands as of now. Airtel and Vi are almost close in the capacity aspect in the 1800 MHz band. Overall, Airtel heads the capacity aspect in Bihar, followed by Jio.

Coverage vs Capacity Winner:

a) Coverage – Airtel, very next close is Jio.

b) Capacity – Airtel, distantly followed by Jio.

4. Delhi – Category ‘Metro’ Circle

Call someone or get a call from someone in Delhi on a cellular network, and you will understand the situation and the density of users. Hence, both coverage and capacity are equally important here. Let’s see who won what.

From a spectrum number perspective for the coverage aspect, Jio and Vi stand first and are close to equal as Jio and Vi hold equal amounts of spectrum in 800 MHz and 900 MHz bands, respectively. From a capacity perspective considering the 2300 MHz band, Jio wins with 40 MHz while Airtel leads in the 2100 MHz band. But in overall capacity spectrum numbers, Airtel leads with 64 MHz.

Coverage vs Capacity Winner:

a) Coverage – Jio/Vodafone Idea.

b) Capacity – Airtel, followed by Jio.

5. Gujarat – Category ‘A’ Circle

Vodafone Idea enjoys the lead position here in the coverage aspect, followed by Jio, and Airtel is not even close. Vodafone Idea also enjoys the capacity aspect, with the majority of its holdings spread across 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz and 2500 MHz bands. However, Airtel and Jio stand tall equally with their 2300 MHz band holdings.

Coverage vs Capacity Winner:

a) Coverage – Vodafone Idea, followed by Jio.

b)  Capacity – Vodafone Idea, followed by Airtel.

6. Haryana – Category ‘B’ Circle

Vi wins the coverage aspect here with its massive 24.4 MHz holdings in the 900 MHz band, followed by Jio. In the capacity aspect, although Vi leads with its holdings in 1800 MHz and 2100 MHz bands, it is just with 1.6 MHz in the overall difference where Airtel stands immediately next to Vi.

Coverage vs Capacity Winner:

a) Coverage – Vodafone Idea, followed by Jio.

b) Capacity – Vodafone Idea, very next close is Airtel.

7. Himachal Pradesh – Category ‘C’ Circle

Airtel and Jio stand first and are close to equal as they hold equal amounts of spectrum in 800 MHz and 900 MHz bands, respectively. Vi does not hold any spectrum in 800 MHz and 900 MHz bands. In a capacity aspect, Airtel clearly takes the lead in Himachal Pradesh with its massive holdings in 1800 MHz and 2300 MHz bands, followed by Jio.

Coverage vs Capacity Winner:

a) Coverage: Jio and Airtel.

b) Capacity: Airtel, followed by Jio

8. Jammu & Kashmir – Category ‘C’ Circle

Who doesn’t want to enjoy the beauty of Jammu & Kashmir while still being connected? Let’s see which telco does it.

Airtel leads the coverage aspect, followed by Jio. Vi doesn’t hold any spectrum in 800 and 900 bands. Airtel clearly takes the lead here as well in the capacity aspect with its massive holdings across 1800, 2100 and 2300 MHz bands. In the 2300 MHz band, both Airtel and Jio hold equal spectrum holdings.

Coverage vs Capacity Winner:

a) Coverage – Airtel.

b) Capacity – Airtel, distantly followed by Jio.

9. Karnataka – Category ‘A’ Circle

Jio leads the coverage aspect with its spectrum holdings, followed by Airtel. In the capacity aspect, Airtel beats Jio and Vi and stands first with its holdings in 1800 MHz and 2100 MHz bands. Jio takes the lead in the 2300 MHz band with its massive 40 MHz holding. Unfortunately, Vi doesn’t hold any spectrum in TDD bands, i.e. in its regular holding band 2500 MHz in general.

Coverage vs Capacity Winner:

a) Coverage – Jio, followed by Airtel.

b) Capacity – Airtel, distantly followed by Jio.

10. Kerala – Category ‘B’ Circle

Kerala is Vi’s base, if we go by the spectrum holdings, with a massive 24.8 MHz spectrum in the 900 MHz band, followed by Jio with 20 MHz holdings. Capacity-wise, too, Vodafone Idea wins with its highest spectrum holding across 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz, 2300 MHz and 2500 MHz bands, followed by airtel.

Coverage vs Capacity Winner:

a) Coverage – Vodafone Idea, followed by Jio.

b) Capacity – Vodafone Idea, followed by Airtel.

11. Kolkata – Category ‘Metro’ Circle

Both Airtel and Vi hold the same quantity of spectrum in 900 MHz, but Jio takes the lead position with its 20 MHz holdings. Capacity-wise, Vi takes the lead with major spectrum holdings, followed by Jio.

Coverage vs Capacity Winner:

a) Coverage – Jio, followed by Airtel/Vodafone Idea.

b) Capacity – Vodafone Idea, followed by Jio.

12. Madhya Pradesh – Category ‘B’ Circle

Jio takes the lead in the coverage aspect with major holdings, followed by Vi. Capacity-wise, Airtel takes the lead with its spectrum holdings of 80 MHz across the bands, followed by Vi with just a difference of 2.8 MHz when compared to the former.

Google Maps to Help You Save Fuel Costs Soon

Posted: 16 Jul 2022 03:16 AM PDT

Google Maps

Google Maps most recent beta update, version 11.39, includes options for users to pick the engine type of the vehicle they would be driving in order to “save you the most petrol or energy” when driving. Google now offers customers four alternatives to determine which route will prove to be the most fuel-efficient for a vehicle with a given type of engine: gas, diesel, electric, and hybrid.

According to the type of the vehicle’s engine, the goal is to recommend to the Google Maps user the best route to travel in order to conserve fuel or energy. According to 9to5Google, when it releases the functionality with the final addition, Google may also include the ability to switch to a different engine type.

Google Maps Feature is Going to Save Users Plenty of Money

There are lots of vehicles with conventional gas engines, but the fuel efficiency of each engine type varies, and there are also an increasing number of electric and hybrid vehicles. Additionally, there are diesel-powered automobiles. The fuel efficiency of various engine types varies; thus, when the feature is introduced, it may be well received by users. This technology is still in beta testing for now, and it might take a few more weeks before owners of electric and hybrid vehicles can test out the new features.

In May, Google Maps released a new update, one of which was the street view feature for the iOS and Android apps. Before the update, users could only examine street view images and see how a location had evolved over time on the desktop version of Google Maps. But using the service’s Android and iOS apps, consumers were able to get an identical experience on their smartphones.

Google also unveiled a brand-new handheld camera. The 360-degree camera may be mounted to “any vehicle with a roof rack and operated directly from a mobile device—no need for a specialist vehicle or sophisticated processing equipment,” according to the inventor.

Private Wireless 5G Market Growing at a Slower Pace than Expected

Posted: 16 Jul 2022 01:51 AM PDT

5G

The telecom operators across the world, not just in India, are counting the revenues from enterprise operations to make a big impact with 5G. One of the biggest use cases that have been proven for enterprises with 5G is private networks. However, the revenues and shipments related to private wireless radio access networks (RAN) are coming in below expectations.

Stefan Pongratz, Vice President at Dell' Oro Group, said that the potential market calculations are still the same, and private wireless is still a massive opportunity.

"We still envision the enterprise and industrial play is a long game. This taken together with the fact that the standalone LTE/5G market is developing at a slower pace than previously expected, forms the basis for the near-term downgrade," Pongratz added.

This means that the kind of revenues that the telcos were expecting from private wireless LTE/5G services is not there right now. But there's still a big opportunity for the telcos to capitalise with private 5G. However, it will only happen in the coming years and not any time soon. Thus, it would be interesting to see how much the telcos spend on the 5G spectrum and developing related/necessary infrastructure and how much money they spend on 4G, especially the telcos in the Indian market.

Indian Telcos Might Not be as Excited About 5G Now

India's 5G spectrum auction is not too far away. The telcos are already worried about the loss of business use cases with 5G as the government has decided to allocate spectrum directly to the enterprises for private network services. Looking at the data from Dell' Oro Group and this report, the enthusiasm of the telcos would go down even further with 5G.

Consumer-related use cases are not too many currently, and Indian consumers are expected to stay with 4G services for the coming years. This might impact the amount of money that the Indian telcos are planning to spend on the 5G spectrum auction later this month.

Vodafone Idea Stock Owners Have Approved Raising Rs 436 Crore

Posted: 16 Jul 2022 01:30 AM PDT

Vodafone Idea

Vodafone Idea (Vi) is all set to raise Rs 436 crore from its current largest promoter – Vodafone Group UK. Things have slightly changed for the telco in the last year. With the government relief package, Vodafone Idea is in a much better position as a going concern than it was at the same time last year. The telco was also finding it hard to raise additional funds from promoters because of a poor business outlook. But, now, the telco is planning to raise Rs 436 crore from Vodafone UK.

Vodafone Idea's shareholders have approved the fundraising. The telco conducted an extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) on July 15, 2022, at 12:30 PM. Stockholders or shareholders of the company were provided with an e-voting facility at the EGM.

Vodafone Idea Shareholders in Agreement with Telco's Plans

In a submission to the stock exchanges, Vi said that 99.94% of the votes were in favour of the move to raise Rs 436 crore from Vodafone Group UK, while merely 0.6% were against it. This means that the telco can now go ahead and raise money from Vodafone.

When will it exactly happen is something that's in the dark right now! Vodafone Group UK hasn't released any statement around the same and is probably going to be quiet only. While the said amount that Vi is looking to raise from the Vodafone Group is likely not going to make any major impact on the business operations, it is still Rs 436 crore more than zero. For Vi, something is better than nothing in this case.

The telco is struggling to expand its shrinking subscriber base. While Vi has performed well in some of the circles, the same needs to be replicated in every part of the country as fast as possible to make an impact. Vodafone Idea needs more funds in its books to fuel capex as well as invest in the spectrum during the 5G spectrum auction.

Understanding Routers, Switches, and Wi-Fi Modem in Depth

Routers

The field of network technology might be fairly esoteric, but with the correct vocabulary and a general understanding of how devices work on your home network, you can deploy your network with confidence. The three devices we use most frequently in our homes, offices, and other places are modems, routers, and switches. They are all around you. From the Google-hosted data centre to the internet connection in your home. Despite being everywhere, many individuals are unaware of how each technology is used. The distinctions between Wi-Fi and a router can occasionally go unnoticed.

The aim of the article is to make clear what each component does and how it completes your broadband connection.

What is a Modem?

It is a gadget that connects directly to a wireless network instead of the phone system. It has direct access to a provider’s internet connectivity. Smartphones, mobile phones, and Personal Data Assistants (PDAs) may come with wireless modems already installed. Additionally, businesses may offer distribution in the form of wireless firewall modems, serial devices, or USBs. Other wireless modem sizes range from those of a cable modem to those a little larger than a credit card.

What is a Wi-Fi Router?

It is a piece of equipment that manages network traffic. It receives data from the wireless modem and directs it to an accessory for the modem. In order to allow access to the connected devices, the router creates Network Address Translated (NAT) internal private Internet Protocol (IP) addresses. In order to allow many devices to be connected to the same network, home routers come with built-in switches. On the other hand, business or enterprise routers might not have this feature since they need a standalone switch.

What is a Switch in Networking?

Take a look at a power strip to get the clearest idea of what a switch is. It is a piece of machinery with numerous outlets for plugging in electrically powered gadgets. A switch is substantially similar, with the exception that it provides outlets for a network rather than electricity in this instance. It is a piece of equipment that links various gadgets together across one network. A switch is made to make it easier for devices connected to the same network to communicate with one another, as opposed to a router which can create and route traffic between TCP/IP networks.

To send information where it needs to go, it employs the MAC address. As a result, it decreases the amount of data on the network, enhancing security while also improving the overall speed of the linked devices.

JioFiber Base Broadband Plan for 3 Months with OTT Access, Is it Worth the Money

Posted: 15 Jul 2022 07:39 PM PDT

JioFiber

JioFiber is the leading fibre internet service provider (ISP) in the country. The need for internet and network connectivity has reached a new high. Being disconnected from the internet for even a day can make a person feel like he/she has been left behind. This is because everything on the internet is quite fast-moving. But not everyone can pay for very high-speed broadband plans. That is why ISPs such as JioFiber offer users a low-cost plan to keep their budget in check and also get internet connectivity. Today, we will be talking about a few broadband plans from the company which come with three months of service for an affordable cost and also bring subscriptions to the over-the-top (OTT) platforms.

JioFiber 30 Mbps Postpaid Broadband Plan

JioFiber offers its internet services in both the prepaid as well as postpaid subscription modes to the consumers. If you are someone who wants to spend less and still get OTT access with the broadband plan, read about these plans carefully.

The first is the Rs 1797 + GST plan. This is a regular 30 Mbps postpaid broadband plan with three months of validity and a subscription to 14 OTT apps, including Disney+ Hotstar, ZEE5, Voot Select, Voot Kids, SunNXT, Hoichoi, Discovery+ and more. Users will be able to get a free Jio STB from the company with access to over 550+ Live TV channels. The commercial data limit of 3.3TB per month will be applicable to this plan as well.

You can purchase similar 30 Mbps plans from JioFiber. There's a Rs 1497 + GST plan which also comes with 30 Mbps speed, 6 OTT apps, and 400+ Live TV channels for three months. The data limit is applicable to this plan as well.

Then, there's another base 30 Mbps plan available for Rs 1197 + GST for three months. The terms and conditions for this plan are similar to the ones above. But there are no OTT benefits given to the user.

Verdict

The simple answer is that all of these plans look really good. Especially the JioFiber plans with OTT benefits and Live TV access. You won't need to pay for a TV subscription separately if you have the JioFiber 30 Mbps postpaid plans with OTT access.
